NCAA Tournament ............ UPSET CITY so far!!

Just stop. The AAC has 4 teams in the tournament field. 3 of which have made National Title game appearances within the past 10 years. 2 of them winning at least 1 title. The AAC is a major basketball conference. Folks just have to get use to the new name and teams. They'll lose the high profile name of Louisville, but they are far from a mid-major conference.

All conferences not associated with the BCS are mid-majors or high majors, what have you. When Cincy was in C-USA before going to the Big East, they were considered a mid-major.

A rough weekend for brackets. Billion dollar brackets - no more perfect brackets left. Anyone heard if there are any left on ESPN?

Cincy ain't never been considered no mid-major. Quit this trying to make BCS football conferences the same standard for basketball. Don't work that way. Memphis ain't never been mid-major and neither was Louisville and they were in some garbage conferences for the longest. They call mid-majors mid-major for a reason, and conference affiliation doesn't always tell the story. When school put money and place major emphasis on basketball, they ain't mid-major. You're mid-major when you ain't got what they got. Some schools got it, even if they aren't in a BCS football conference.

When not being used to refer to all of the Division I non-BCS teams (aka "low-majors"), so-called mid-major (non-BCS) basketball programs generally belong to one of the following nine conferences. Note that some of these conferences, including the Mountain West, Conference USA, and the Atlantic 10, may be considered a high-major as opposed to a mid-major depending on whom one asks.[5][6][7][8][9][10]

American Athletic Conference (The American)
Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10)
Big East Conference
Colonial Athletic Association (CAA)
Conference USA (C-USA)
Horizon League
Mid-American Conference (MAC)
Missouri Valley Conference (MVC)
Mountain West Conference (MWC)
West Coast Conference (WCC)
Western Athletic Conference (WAC)

I've never considered Memphis a mid major. Going back to the Hardaway days (and before then), Memphis has stayed ranked. It's just that in this day and age, the talking heads at ESPN want to label them that because they don't play in the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 or SEC.

Gonzaga is not a mid-major anymore. When you have done what they have done for 10-15 years (#1 seeds and ranking, Sweet 16/Elite 8 runs) you can't label them that. If Butler can get back on their feet they will be in that same boat. VCU is trending that way as well since 2007.
