WHO DAT Nation: Saints Release Lance Moore

Yes, you all have "cap" issues. With backloaded contracts, there will be a reckoning when it's time to pay.

That's when you do something called restructure, cut, pssst.....signing bonus. What NFL player you know stays the full length of the contract. Also the cap goes up significantly AGAIN next year. Y'all playing checkers while we playing chess over here man.

Dude; Sproles and Thomas is the effects of THIS years backloaded contracts for certain players. Just wait till next year. You can only "re-structure" and backload so many contracts until it catches up to you.

Sproles is still on the team currently and Thomas is still on the team. If you have smart management you can manipulate and get around the cap. The Patriots and Ravens been doing it for years. So Sroles will get traded for draft picks and we'll get younger on the OL and at WR. We're not finished in free agency yet. We may not even get rid of Thomas.

What has ATL done so far other than signing a couple of cream puffs?

Oh and how can I forget Will Smith. I know that had to hurt.

Word is he like south Ponchartrain beach.

That would be a much improved replacement for Lance Moore, although Tony is tight end. If that does happens, Drew Brees passing game would be wide open.

Oh, and don't Graham have some type of grievance against you all? What happens if he wins it?

As of right now no, he has not filed it at this point. No one has ever won the type of grievance he has but let's just say the sun just so happens to shine on ant's ass that day and he does win if someone wants to pay him like a top 3 WR we let him walk and we get 2 first round draft picks. We have another top 5 TE on our team anyway.

Hey he did say Matt Ryan is NOT an elite QB. If we trade Graham wouldn't shock me if he gave Loomis a call.

I doubt Graham is going anywhere. Like Brees did, he's trying to maximize the amount on his contract. Since the NFL officially made him a tight end, no team is going to pay him a wide receiver contract.

His grievance is with the NFL. They officially made him a tight end.

I know he isn't going anywhere the Saints currently have a contract on the table that will make him the richest TE ever. He'll be a Saint for another 6 years.

Bigs, if Stills didn't put up those numbers, Moore STILL would have been released because of Graham's contract. Jimmy wants his money and he wants it now. Loomis backloaded ALOT of contracts and now it's time to pay the piper.

Well you know I have been fussing about Graham’s contract talks since last year. I’m still worried about RT and C, but the Saints have proven they can find a star on the O-line even in the SWAC. So, the way this is starting to shape up Graham’s contract is not looking to be an issue since they signed Bird. The Saints put a non-exclusive franchise tag on Graham. Another team can sign Graham if they are willing to give him top dollar plus give up two number 1s and a number 2 with the Saints having the opportunity to match. If another team doesn’t offer him a contract, we can kind of give him what we want in 2015, especially if we don’t make a nice run in 2014. Graham has to put up big numbers again in 2014 to have a shot at being the highest paid TE in 2015. But me personally, I rather have the two first round draft choices. Atlanta has an opening at TE now. Are they willing to give up $12 million a year to Graham plus two number 1s? You guys did give up 5 picks for Julio Jones who never put on a NFL uniform. I know you know the consequences of over-paying players with Atlanta’s track record. Maybe Lance Moore can get his money from Atlanta like Steven Jackson did.

Beans is somewhere telling Arthur Blank what to do. Maybe they might add more money to Matty Ice's contract. :emlaugh:
