2014 Alcorn FB Schedule

I promise I have never heard of LC until now. Apparently they are rivals with Mississippi College (D3)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana_College

They are a small private Baptist college in Pineville, LA (across the river from Alexandria, LA). They are a DIII school in the American Southwest Conference (ASC) that compete with a lot of Christian schools in Texas and a few in Mississippi. They have a pretty good football team that could give Alcorn some trouble. Their coach Dennis Dunn used to be the coach at one of Louisiana's high school football powerhouses Evangel Christian in Shreveport, LA. While at Evangel, Dunn coached former USC and current NFL quarterback, John David Booty, former NFL quarterback, Josh Booty, and former Miami Hurricane and current NFL quarterback, Brock Berlin. LC's record last year was 7-3 overall and 5-1 against conference teams, with wins against Belhaven University and Mississippi College. They just recently built their own on-campus stadium with field turf. They used to play in Pineville High School stadium. They are about 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Alcorn. They would definitely be way more competition than Virginia University in Lynchburg, VA.

Was Evangel Christian the school who had the reality show or was that West Monroe? I can't remember....I just remember Evangel Christian getting the pub for a while when those guys were there.

"Holy Hill" is on Alcorns schedule? wow

Hobson just wants to inflate the record. 9 wins look good. It's obvious he is not trying to make a push for the playoffs.

There's no way they will stay within 40 of Alcorn.

Oh well, the Alcorn fans were going to be in Jackson for the JSU-FAMU game anyway. They def gonna be in Jackson now... even the SOD..

Let the War Party Room Folks tell it. We finally have a football team we can showcase to the HBCU FCS world and have no nuts to do it. We could have played SOMEBODY in the MEAC. Scared of FAMU, scared of TN State, Scared of Howard, Scared of BCC. Alcorn vs. Howard would have been good because there are some Alums in the DC Area. Even Morgan State. You cannot hide your way to a championship. You have to bust down the door and be the Alpha Male. Alcorn refuses to be the Alpha Male in the pit full of LIons, Tigers, and Bears. I'm done.

BTW, this schedule is complete shit.

People on here act like their school don't schedule down in football. These are non conference games. If we played LSU or State it don't matter because they don't count toward the swac standing either. One or two games is not going to change anything when it comes too the playoffs because of the swac as a whole. Look at the schedule of all the teams in the swac for the pass few years and you will see that others schedule down in football like everyone else!!

Louisiana college? Yeah ok

I don't why know people are more upset with Alcorn scheduling Louisiana College when clearly Virginia University of Lynchburg, VA (VUL) is their weakest opponent. But I agree, they both appear to be out of their league.

Who is Virginia Lynchburg?
Are they D2 or D3 like Louisiana College?
And this is my first time hearing about these schools.

They were Grambling's homecoming opponent in 2012, which was Grambling's only win that season. I'm not sure what level of football they play since their website give very little information about them, but I do believe they lost every game last year. Also, they have played North Carolina A&T before, but Greensboro is a lot closer to Lynchburg then Alcorn.
