LET'S CALL A SPADE A SPADE: Cancel the remained of the season.

Because you said this

"you want to punish kids in every program that had nothing to do with this"

Ask those kids at USC who had to take the punishment for Reggie Bush while he was getting big bucks in the NFL

The problem here though, is S.U. has already been punished for this (unless there was some language when lifting the previous ban such as temporary or conditional).

The NCAA has been punishing schools for stuff a long time. There are plenty of times when a school got punished for stuff that past coaches and players did and those current coaches and players weren't even there. Nothing new about this, they just took the punishment and moved on.

.....

This is very true.

I do not think that they like it a bit. Let's not forget about the football players at Penn State though Paterno was there recently. Sandusky was long gone (officially) from the program.

Jesus Christ has everybody simply decided not to comprehend a conversation before they give their two cents.

Re: LET'S CALL A SPADE A SPADE: Cancel the remainder of the season.

So you want to take it even further than the NCAA, not only do you want to punish kids in every program that had nothing to do with this but take away everything from them all together by not even giving them an outlet to escape the insanity.

You're really going over the edge with this and when did TSU cancel their season and stop participating in all athletics?

This is what I said in its entirety in response to the post below but you decided to give a misrepresentation of it .
The recent penalties issued out by the NCAA are the results of administrative incompetence.
From the Universities Presidents on down some one has performed inadequately and has to be held accountable.
In short, some heads must roll. Evidently those persons who inadequately understaffed the athletic departments at the various schools with incompetent
personal should be held accountable and penalized or in some cases released.
This entire situation is an embarrassment to the conference.
Changes shouldbe made starting at the top (Presidents). This is pathetic and a disgrace and totally unacceptable.
Some heads must roll.
And to play in the in the tournament and not be eligible to attend the NCAA tournament if you win is a joke.
What should be done is to cancel all participation in athletics until this mess is rectified school by school.
This has to be fixed and done so immediately.
Texas Southern has gone through this and should be the model for the remainder of the conference.
When you don't know what you are doing asked someone who does.

Think about who you are talking too. lol

The main thing that remains is " not having the proper paper work or a lack there of " to satisfy the NCAA. That's obvious, because that's the NCAA's argument/ruling handed down. You can't keep having inaccurate or insufficient documents and expect "nothing" to happen at some point. Let me make myself clear, this should go for all schools.

rightttttttttttt. All schools. Not lower resource schools and let the damn big conferences get a free pass. If you ban one for this crap than ban everyone else who have the same problem and i can name a few who was suppose to had paper work corrected back and never did but guess what? They never went on their campus. :smh:

They're trying to do that but the SWAC is not going to let them do it for the tourny because they are doing the money grab.

No, the NCAA is just stringing us along. Hand down a definitive punishment and let us move on. The SWAC letting us play in the conference tournament still doesn't help us because we don't get that extra NCAA tourney money and exposure if we win.

Yea it is, they downplaying it like its nothing. Expecting people to just ignore it and maybe it will go away. He thinks everything is taken care of, since nothing can be done about it. LOL maybe this is the mentality the admin at southern has.

Is what Bluedog is doing considered trolling or flaming?! He's trying to divert while people are trying to discuss a topic. What's his purpose?! Where's Kenn?!

agreed. its pointless. yeah lets just win the swac, and come home while a team seeded 7th get to go on the national stage and get clowned by Florida or Wichita.

Try making that argument with your mortgage company about escrow accounts or better yet....with the IRS.

And it took the NCAA over a year to catch this purported lie with an arbitrary audit for something they supposedly reviewed already........That's a stretch (sounds like incompetency on the NCAA part or double jeopardy). Having said the aforementioned, I don't let S.U. administration off of the hook for their incompetency. Lastly, I don't agree with the TGD perspective either.

Could it be that the NCAA is "stringing" you along because you keep saying you have the corrected/proper paperwork?

If no one can comprehend what you're trying to say, that means what you're saying doesn't make sense. Or to put it in more comprehensible terms: you're posting a like jack _ _ _.

This board is going haywire.... Ya'll have fun with this mess..... :gone: PEACE!!!

I guarantee our AD isn't telling them we have "corrected" paperwork. Inaccurate/incomplete historical data will always be inaccurate/incomplete if no one ever ensured it was done properly the first time. It would be fraud to change it. What we've been doing is supplying whatever is available from that period, but it hasn't and probably won't ever satisfy the requirement because we cannot go back in time.

That's why I say PUNISH US. Put a clear penalty in writing like they did for all the other schools that have been sanctioned for whatever reasons. Require us to put controls in place to ensure that this won't happen again, and monitor us to make sure we are doing what we said we would do. If we screw up again, hit us as a repeat violator.

No argument from Me.

That is what we (sTu) tried to do when we went through this. A lot of the sanctions/punishments were self imposed. Our goal was to wipe the slate clean and start from scratch. Put the pieces in place to ensure this does not happen again. Sometimes it is easier to tear a building down and rebuild than it is to keep patching here and there and trying to fix stuff that can't be fixed.

No, JSU folks are gone crazy with jealousy and hate. They sit around waiting for something to happen in this conference to other schools to get a enjoyment out of it.

Says the same person who clearly states he HATE all things JSU...

Couldn't agree more and always play victim

You mean the same thing you doing now?

Well said working with the NCAA things like this takes time but the University has control over the situation if they turn in the correct paperwork..

It took a year to give a ruling. They contacted SU and said this is some "faulty" documentation, please send the appropriate docs. SU says ok. Mind you, y'all now know the stuff they sent in was bogus, made up. So the new folk tries and tries and tries, but no matter what they do they can't give the NCAA the right docs because they ain't there. The NCAA was being nice to give y'all as much time as it did. But even they had to finally accept that y'all just didn't have it.
Really? Just what did they lie about?

This should be good.

The lie was whatever y'all submitted back then knowing full well it was bogus.

The SWAC did this for money but the conference has to have some kinds of standards. I don't agree with us(Grambling) being able to compete in the tournament because we didn't earn it. There has to be morals and ethics somewhere.

We told y'all that when we had the previous AD downplaying the NCAA stuff. Then we got dogged on the board for firing him. We told y'all it was more than just looking for hoes in Houston. They had a laundry list of stuff. Now some of it is coming out. Y'all should have realized something was up when Coach Pugh outed him saying we couldn't accept the NIT bid because of money to travel 50 miles to New Orleans to play Tulane. That should have spoke volumes.

I told someone that sometimes u gotta burn that field before you can restore it. I totally agree with you

Last year TSU couldn"t play.
This year SU;APB;GSU and Valley should stay home and serve their time.
If only JSU, TSU, AA&M, Alcorn, and Alabama State are eligible then it is what it is.
May the best team win.
I agree with the Presidents of JSU and Alabama State.
Man this is a sad time for the SWAC.

I don't speak for all the Golden Lion Family when I post this: regarding UAPB, (again) phil posted back in January an article from the Pine Bluff Commercial, announcing that the NCAA, not UAPB, miscalculated our APR scores. The same article stated that when the NCAA APR database updated in June 2013, our scores were HIGHER than what they (NCAA) had recorded for us........as a result, my Golden Lions SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN BANNED for the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 season. The NCAA screwed us up and still refused to lift our bans when we appealed and showed the evidence of their mistake. So, as far as "APB should stay home and serve their time", we served our time when it was proven we should have been banned for only one year instead of 3 years.
