LET'S CALL A SPADE A SPADE: Cancel the remained of the season.

No you're talking about two different things.

The facts that I addressed.

1) SU is banned from NCAA post season play and there's nothing that can be done about it.

2)SU will participate in the SWAC tournament and there's nothing that can be done about it.

3)SU won the 2013 SCG by beating JSU again fair and square and there's nothing that can be done about it that beating.

4) Far too many JSU posters think they know everything and are suffering from self victimization and there's nothing that can be done about it.

There you go stating the obvious again, just say you didn't understand what I was saying and be done with it. Nothing you said was new to me, you and the rest of these posters like to hear yourselves talk sometimes. When have I refuted what you just said? A topic is brought up about Southern and you feel as if you are above criticism and don't want anybody to weigh in on it. You said all of that and the fact still remains, southern has a lot of work to do.

Yep.... I can even tell you Duer favorite drink after last night. Oh and BTW the queen was there laughing all loud and isht after a few drinks, bragging about her bogus vote she cast knowing it wasn't going to change nothing.

They say Patti did her thang:

I'm not only directing my comments to Southern, but to all SWAC schools that are not adhering to NCAA rules and guidelines.
APB, Valley State, GSU and any other.
Regarding SU I would require a full investigation from top to bottom to determine where the blame lies.
And let me state the cuts in budget is not an excuse.
It's an administrator's responsibility to make the appropriate decisions to maintain a viable program. You get a budget, establish priorities and make a decision. Now if you want to
play politics than deal with the results. For the students to have to suffer and it's about the students not only the athletes but the students and those who support the UNIVERSITY is totally unacceptable.
I don't read where the other state schools violated NCAA guidelines and they also were subjected to the cuts imposed by our want to be President governor.
My question now is, where do we go from here, because if the records are corrupt then what's next, a financial penalty, forfeit of all games played during the specified time period?
And regarding the names of the administrators who have been removed they were appointed or approved by the board. Let's take a hard look at them.
Maybe it's time to look at being place under the board of the the other state schools. Held GSU are boycotting games, something is wrong and in my opinion it's starts at the top.
Man this is serious and must be viewed as such. Why should I send my kid to a school that cannot manage student's records? What else are they failing to do?
Grambling's issues have NOTHING to do with this...

Once again we can't get nothing pass you JSU poster, but thank you for admitting what everybody already knew.

And this is funny to you?

Yea it is, they downplaying it like its nothing. Expecting people to just ignore it and maybe it will go away. He thinks everything is taken care of, since nothing can be done about it. LOL maybe this is the mentality the admin at southern has.

Does the "Death Penalty" ring a bell? It should....we (sTu) were a gnat's hair from it so I know the seriousness. Most of the posters on here want to say it was for cheating but they are clueless.....it was for much of what su is experiencing now. Bad, missing, erroneous or non-existent paperwork. Mainly due to an under staffed under educated (about APR) compliance department and we had a do nothing but play golf AD also.

This crap ain't funny because it gives those who oppose the existence of HBCUs another dart to throw at US (inclusive). Yeah, other schools have APR issues but you know our crime is worse than other people's crimes.

This ain't funny by a long shot.

So you want to take it even further than the NCAA, not only do you want to punish kids in every program that had nothing to do with this but take away everything from them all together by not even giving them an outlet to escape the insanity.

You're really going over the edge with this and when did TSU cancel their season and stop participating in all athletics?

The NCAA has been punishing schools for stuff a long time. There are plenty of times when a school got punished for stuff that past coaches and players did and those current coaches and players weren't even there. Nothing new about this, they just took the punishment and moved on.

They didn't/don't wanna see that.

I agree. I can't honestly say with a straight face that I agree with any of the 4 schools going to Houston including my own. I knew coming into the year that Valley would not be eligible for the SWAC title in football and basketball and just rolled with it. To find out all of a sudden that you can now go to Houston and play but won't go to the Big Dance (or the NIT in Southern's case) is just asinine.

I would not be mad if any of the 4 schools in question turned down the trip to H-Town but as most can see this is just a money grab by the SWAC office and don't care about how it looks to the rest of the nation.

So true, so true

The NCAA should just penalize us and let us serve the penalty while making sure the new folks have processes in place to do the job correctly.

They're trying to do that but the SWAC is not going to let them do it for the tourny because they are doing the money grab.

He had two part time people trying to do compliance.

Who's fault is that?
Is that the conferences fault or su's fault only?

The SWAC received a special exemption from the NCAA men's basketball selection committee to adjust which team earns its automatic berth to the tournament, the NCAA announced Saturday.

The SWAC is in a unique situation where four teams are ineligible for the postseason because of poor APR scores -- Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Grambling and Mississippi Valley State and Southern -- but all will still be allowed to compete in the conference tournament at the Toyota Center in Houston March 11-15.

If one of the four ineligible teams wins the tournament, then the team among the six eligible teams that advances the furthest in the tournament would receive the NCAA tournament bid.

The NCAA said this amendment with the SWAC is only for the 2014 NCAA tournament.

What are they gonna do next year when this same problem comes back up?

I didn't say it was anyones problem. I'm just saying how Dumb Greg Lafleur and the people who hired him were.

Clearly SU is taking it's punishment since our 2 1st-place basketball teams can't participate in the NCAA or NIT tournaments. We have accepted that and are moving on to trying to get things straight so that our baseball and softball teams won't suffer the same fate. It's almost as if folks are enjoying seeing SU have this happen and are almost cheering for something worse to happen. Hate is really an ugly thing.

Exactly which is why some of them should hang themselves

I agree, because in the end somebody is going to pay the price "rather dearly."

According to this article from 2010 SU has been punished for this once already. Isn't this like double punishment.

The main thing that remains is " not having the proper paper work or a lack there of " to satisfy the NCAA. That's obvious, because that's the NCAA's argument/ruling handed down. You can't keep having inaccurate or insufficient documents and expect "nothing" to happen at some point. Let me make myself clear, this should go for all schools.

Dude your school lied to get off punishment or to get a much lighter punishment. That ain't double jeopardy.

And it took the NCAA over a year to catch this purported lie with an arbitrary audit for something they supposedly reviewed already........That's a stretch (sounds like incompetency on the NCAA part or double jeopardy). Having said the aforementioned, I don't let S.U. administration off of the hook for their incompetency. Lastly, I don't agree with the TGD perspective either.

Because you said this

"you want to punish kids in every program that had nothing to do with this"

Ask those kids at USC who had to take the punishment for Reggie Bush while he was getting big bucks in the NFL
