LET'S CALL A SPADE A SPADE: Cancel the remained of the season.

Man we see the same thing every year from posters. They brag on what they have before the season starts and make excuses for poor season afterwards. It's nothing new here man so spare me with that crap you talking about. Even when JSU had bell posters was still optimistic about the season, its even like that with Valley year in and out. I don't know about you but keeping up with what Southern does is not a top priority. Just seems fishy to me all of this is coming up again after it was supposedly cleared up. From researching seems as if Lefleur did some shady stuff to make the APR numbers boost. Thats seems pretty serious to me but who am I?

The irony...

I'll just let yall have this as usual. Continue to play the victims and troll as usual if that is what makes you happy.

“Since this December notification,” the statement read, “Southern’s submissions have been incomplete or inaccurate at deadline.”-NCAA

They knew about this since December though frat, the ban was levied on Feb 27th. So I'm sure the SWAC and other presidents knew as well but kept a tight seal on it leaking out. Do you think the NCAA cherry picked Southern to investigate or what? How did this investigation come about in the first place? Honest questions, no smack.

Interesting......

Sometimes I can see why some folks are they way they are. Makes you wonder what kind of decisions they make at their jobs.

So su doesn't keep records of the information it sends to the NCAA for possible review at some point and time if necessary? You guys are continuously trying to throw one person under the bus for a multiplicity of sins done by many. LeFleur seems to be the "fall guy" for everything wrong with su athletics.
I ain't buying it one bit.

You guys were saying everything will be fine. Nothing wrong here. Seems that you guys were clueless as to the amount of trouble su sports was in. Now that you know the decision, suddenly ALL the blame is being placed on the previous administration.
Your current administration doesn't seem to know what it's doing and doesn't seem to understand much about APR policy either.
Your current administration couldn't even meet the requested deadline, so they have their part to blame as well.

Frat. December? It's only March now. I am sure they thought it was a simple oversight by the previous admin and could correct it. Why did you want it to go public in December? Hell it went public late January pretty much as the CBS cat knew. The NCAA said they are doing 20-30 schools like this by going back. I think y'all making it more than what it is. The only scandal is the SWAC not coming forth before the season started and saying all teams will be in Houston.

Seems that the other schools have turned in accurate information due to the fact they kept records and were familiar with APR policy and procedures cause up to now, I only hear about one school being banned from the NCAA in all sports.
I know, I know before you say it. Everything's LeFleur's fault.

Again the NCAA didn't tell Broussard until 2013 they needed more paperwork. So he was to automatically walk in and call the NCAA up in 2012 and said hey I know you got some paperwork from the guy before me. Just want to check to see if its adequate. Lol. Seriously what kind of work do you do? Did you ask for all the doings of the person in your position before you? If the Feds investigated your job could you produce all the work your previous guy did? Can your company without scrambling? Especially if the guy before you got fired for incompetence?

Im sure they thought they could correct it too, thats obvious. If it was that simple this matter would've been corrected by now, 2 months is enough time to organize records with all of this technology. I'm sure they realized it was more serious once the current admin submitted inaccurate info at the various deadlines. Maybe it's not that serious, if it aint then maybe thats the reason why the deadline was not met.

The recent penalties issued out by the NCAA are the results of administrative incompetence.
From the Universities Presidents on down some one has performed inadequately and has to be held accountable.
In short, some heads must roll. Evidently those persons who inadequately understaffed the athletic departments at the various schools with incompetent
personal should be held accountable and penalized or in some cases released.
This entire situation is an embarrassment to the conference.
Changes shouldbe made starting at the top (Presidents). This is pathetic and a disgrace and totally unacceptable.
Some heads must roll.
And to play in the in the tournament and not be eligible to attend the NCAA tournament if you win is a joke.
What should be done is to cancel all participation in athletics until this mess is rectified school by school.
This has to be fixed and done so immediately.
Texas Southern has gone through this and should be the model for the remainder of the conference.
When you don't know what you are doing asked someone who does.

Yea, It's embarrassing. What's going to be more embarrassing is if attendance is shitty at the tournament.
That'll be a slap in the face. After making national headlines and being the joke of college hoops, that arena better be packed.

So there's no series of checks and balances at su? Sounds more like a systemic issue along with record-keeping issues. You do know about record-keeping for auditing purposes don't you?
All I hear are excuses.
Tell me JR, what school doesn't keep records of information they send out? Who doesn't do that these days? Apparently su doesn't.

From doing some research I will say this, the problem started with Greg LeFleur. The Previous AD is at Morgan State, seems as if Southern got rid of him for some reason. He is doing a pretty good job there now. LeFleur did damage by cutting the compliance position, they went without someone in that position for 2 years. So for nearly 2 years, there was no one keeping academic records. When the NCAA first appeared, Southern couldn't produce records that didn't exist. That is the problem at Southern now and is virtually impossible to correct. I feel bad for the athletes, but not the people who put the kids in this situation.

Pretty much. Kerr got ran off by the Chancellor who hire LaFluer. We have been pissed every since then. I think Texas State had some issues with LaFluer too and fired him when he was their AD. They have since flourished.

NCAA and SU will work a deal out. Southern will start with a clean slate, the only they really can do IMO...

I don't think y'all understand how bad it was. The NCAA is asking for paperwork that likely NEVER existed. Sure we have turned over records but they were likely pieced together based on what our current folks could find. The previous AD cut the compliance officer job to save money and didn't have one for 2 years. No one was doing that job for 2 years on a campus that has close to 300 athletes.

There is probably no way we could produce original documents from those years. The NCAA should just penalize us and let us serve the penalty while making sure the new folks have processes in place to do the job correctly.

Hadn't read this before I posted. You are on it.

In 1987 Memphis State won the Metro Tournament but could not go to the NCAA tournament. From what I could see, no team from the conference went to the NCAA Tournament that year. (Correct me if I am wrong.) I think a lot of discussion occurred then by the conference letting a team that was banned in the NCAA tournament play in its conference tournament. I would not be surprised to hear a lot of talk about the SWAC but do not want to hear anything about it. Or I hope that they will not talk about it but seriously doubt that my wish will be granted.

Yes, I know that this is one team as oppose to four but was reminded of this situation.

So the intensive work that the current admin did was all a lie because they knew they would receive welfare from the SWAC?

Yep.... I can even tell you Duer favorite drink after last night. Oh and BTW the queen was there laughing all loud and isht after a few drinks, bragging about her bogus vote she cast knowing it wasn't going to change nothing.

Ummm thats good to know but it won't change the facts.

I'm keeping my eyes on the NCAA.

But why? Those bastards probably had their mind made up in December b4 it got to this point. They lied and said they would get back with us when those deadlines were met now they change their mind and say not enough time. Tournament is March 18th I believe. They said that Feb 27th

He had two part time people trying to do compliance.

No you didn't. We talking about two different things lol

No you're talking about two different things.

The facts that I addressed.

1) SU is banned from NCAA post season play and there's nothing that can be done about it.

2)SU will participate in the SWAC tournament and there's nothing that can be done about it.

3)SU won the 2013 SCG by beating JSU again fair and square and there's nothing that can be done about it that beating.

4) Far too many JSU posters think they know everything and are suffering from self victimization and there's nothing that can be done about it.
