Did it get resolved? I see the other thread was closed with no conclusion.

I can't seem to find any other thread discussing it...

Just asking.

No, we haven't heard from the NCAA yet. Should hear something by Wednesday or Friday letting us know if everything was good or we needed to send something else.

Thanks for the update.

Mods leave my thread open. If you don't like it then don't post in it. Real simple.

Thanks.

It's not about APR. It was paperwork not properly filed in the past. Current APR is fine. The thread got moved to the smack board. When the NCAA rules on the paperwork submitted, I am sure the SWAC commish, our AD and the news will announce it. I am certain the Queen has all the details since they are letting SU teams participate in conference championships. Indoor Track teams just competed this weekend. So our basketball teams will be in Houston as well. Any questions should be directed to Duer or the Council of Presidents.

Yep. They hadn't announced it yet but they voted on us. Only 1 said no. I wonder who that was.

So was the comment about Duer stating banned teams will be allowed to participate in the Tourney true? I saw where someone said that might not be true in the other thread.

I have a question. Do the winners of the SWAC Indoor championships advance to some NCAA sponsored post-season event??? Also, if the NCAA says you're ineligible, how can a conference override that decision???

the NCAA said NCAA events. The SWAC tournament is not that. The whole thing is confusing but all I know is that the presidents voted on it and approved it so they are just waiting for the conference to officially announce it whenever that may be. They voted last Monday.

Yeah I remember now. The conference came behind that and banned us from the SCG. So they're backtracking now.

The SWAC is ass backwards but o well...If the NCAA bans anyone from a NCAA event the conference tournament under the NCAA should count as such. But whatever I hope that Broussard resolves the situation and moves forward..

No, it is based on times. I may be wring, but I think you could qualify for NCAA regionals at any point in the season. Conference champion doesn't get an automatic invite.

Robber that was for APR. This is not a APR situation.
How is it not APR??? The initial post of the last thread says:

Southern University’s first-place men’s and women’s basketball teams will be ineligible for postseason competition unless the school is able to satisfy NCAA requests for additional and corrected paperwork regarding the academic progress of student-athletes dating to 2009.

Now, seems to me faulty APR paperwork was submitted years ago. While it doesn't speak today's APR numbers, seems like it does speak to the old APR numbers. So ain't that still APR???

Repeat post: The SWAC set an unsustainable precedent by banning JSU from the SCG that year... The APR bug was (intentionally or not) always a trap for our schools. Yes, Robber... it seems as though they are backtracking (or scrambling) now. The NCAA seems as poo as the SWAC in this situation, though. There shouldn't be a reason for stringing Southern along...

Sounds like an APR issue to me. :noidea: Maybe not a current APR issue but it's still sounds like APR to me.

So there was a vote on Monday on SU's situation, specifically...or the (stupid ass) SWAC ban overall?

Does anyone know who the President was that voted no?

Maybe the SWAC COP looked at SU situation differently because it's happened 5 year ago under a different school administration athletic administration and coaches, the whole dynamic of the situation doesn't warrant a SWAC tourney ban, and the fact that SU has met the benchmarks of the NCAA investigation further says they are serious about clearing up the problem .
