So by locker room, are you using the frame of reference of an NFL locker room ... which is still bound by state and federal discrimination law?
 



Why do folks have to make an announcement they are Gay? If you are Gay, I don't need to know. Keep it too yourself. Nobody ever said that a gay person
cannot be an All American player, but all future suspects should keep it to themselves. If you are around a group of men they already know you are Gay, if you are Gay. In team sports you will definite know.

I wouldn't give a damn what laws the locker room is bound by??? Hell those players do everything but murder in locker rooms??? Players usually police their own locker rooms.

To empower themselves and others to live their lives without doing so in shame or in secret. Elsewhere around the world you can't do that or you risk imprisonmnent or death.

Ken you played collegiate sports. You should have some idea on locker room behavior. Those cats don't be sitting around holding bible studies and listening to Gospel music. Now some probably do.
 
It's just amazing the level of ignorance and hatred in this thread. It's one thing to not agree with a lifestyle, but it's a totally different thing to intentionally make go out of your way to ridicule and demonize someone strictly based on their preference. At the end of the day, the dude helped Missouri win and was the SEC defensive player of the year with no reported problems or issues.

Now that they can get married, hold hands and do whatever they want, where is the shame? The Id, ego and superego, I guess no longer has any value. The ID make you want to do a lot of things, but the other two keep a human being from doing things that some of us still have values.

Really there isn't that much demonizing going on (Well Style is making his point rather crudely his choice)...But why is it hatred that people disagree with homosexuality but I believe most here are disagreeing with the big deal being made of the lifestyle with celebrity/sports figures and the need to announce just be you and the world will catch on keep it moving

We didn't have an actual locker room in college. So, I can't describe locker room behavior. But, I can say we all behaved like typical college kids full of machismo and testosterone. Our bunch was wild. I can tell you a lot of guys wouldn't have accepted a gay teammate or they would have ridiculed him mercilessly.
 
All this judging is wild and is a big reason why dudes family didn't know. For instance in my family i have never met an openly gay family member but if one of my family members came out, wouldn't love them no less, would be shocked but that's their bizz, as long as they don't throw their choice on me with persuasion, etc. We all have to answer to the "most high" individually but adding hate and evil intentions towards people will get you sent to hell as quick as being gay, no sin is bigger than the next lol

Yeah, gays can get married...in only 17 states. You can be fired in 29 states for being gay. It's legal to do that. In other states, teachers are encouraged to not describe homosexuality in a positive light as mandated by school boards. In some instances, they go as far as relating it criminal behavior.

So, it's still an uphill battle.

This is a great example of why the media should stay out of athletes private lives. I am not for homosexuality, but it is his private life and it should remain private, just like everyone else life.

Didn't HE bring it to the public's attention? Had he not, whose to say it would've become much of an issue if he kept it a secret? Several sports guys have been allegedly called gay, but not many came out and confirmed it.
That's a private sexual matter that needed to be kept behind closed doors. No one needed to know that he likes sticking his john in another man's butt.
