Lane Kiffin headed to Bama as OC? Bama OC to Michigan. Petrino to Louisville

I have to disagree team. Bama is a run first team, that relies heavily on the play action pass. They are a carbon copy of those old Michigan teams accept Michigan always had and ultilized great TEs. Alabama doesn't do that as much. Explosiveness is scoring at any given second from anywhere on the field, like Oregon, Baylor, and Okie State. Bama is good, but they can't do it like them. It's impossible to have a great defense and play that type of football.

Explosive is a relative term. My point was that according to their metric, Bama ranked first.

Interesting. You think Kiffin was already getting to Saban with some of his suggestions? Henry running the ball should be something next year. Although I think that kid on defense would be even more beastly. RBs have been devalued in the NFL.

From an inside source, Henry has been destroying the first team defense. Had an awesome week prior to the Auburn game. Saban went with Drake during the Auburn game. The rumor is Drake cursed out one of the coaches on the sideline during the game. Remember, Drake never touched the field after 4 great runs. Attitude is a major issue.

Saban was trying to hold back Henry in order to get fournette. Once he found out Fournette was LSU bound, Saban let Henry put on a show. If you go back and watch his high school videos, it similar to the way he ran over Oklahoma.

PS: The sleeper is Bo Scarbourgh............

2014 should be an exciting year in T-Town . . .

I wonder if that "consultation" is the reason Drake didnt play in the bowl game and Henry moved up to second team.

Nussmeier was probably behind Henry not getting carries this year.

You notice since Nussmeier was there, the has been virtually NO RB rotation like in years past...

Florida State's offense is not Oregon or Baylor.

Nope. It is more balanced. Not to mention they got some mofos on that OL at FSU. They are one of the few teams that can be explosive and smash mouth at the same time.

I hope this will work. Kiffin is about to be out of the spotlight while at Bama. Remember, Saban does not allow his coaches or freshmen to do interviews unless permission is given. If Kiffin is giving interviews during the season, then you know there is a problem and he will be fired at season end.

Out of the spotlight? At Bama? Man, listen...

As for Kiffin’s penchant for saying things he probably shouldn’t say, that wouldn’t be a problem at Alabama because Kiffin wouldn’t be allowed to talk. Except on rare Saban-approved occasions, he would wear the same one-voice muzzle as every other assistant in Tuscaloosa.

That ability to ignore the media and focus on coaching - and recruiting, another of his strengths - sounds as if it would be attractive to Kiffin.

K, Nick has a dictatorship in Tuscaloosa. The employees at the University are not allowed to speak to Saban unless he speaks to them first.

Lane Kiffin won't be able to talk. But that doesn't mean he won't avoid scrunity.

Urban Meyer did it Florida with no problem at all.

Maybe I am out of the loop, but I don't recall many assistant coaches being mouthpieces for the program.

I'm not talking about Kiffin being a mouthpiece.

He's the most high-profile assistant coach in college football. With him being at Bama, in the SEC, with all the attention that school and that conference gets, Kiffin is going to be in a fish bowl simply because of his past.

Will make the Alabama-Tennessee rivalry even more interesting. lol

This was the first thing I thought about when he was met with Saban.

Remember. Saban coached under Belichick in Cleveland, and Belichick coached under Parcells in New York (Giants and Jets) and New England.

Can you remember watching an assistant at Bama with a spotlight newspaper article or tv interview?

I sure don't, but there are assistants who are allowed to interview, radio and TV. Auburn is an example.

It will. It does not matter what Tennessee's record is. Understand. There are Crimson Tide fans who hate Tennessee more than they hate Auburn.

there are some black coaches on Alabama's staff who would be good SWAC, low FBS coaches but they get paid too much to leave and will never be a head coach in the SEC, etc

The two most hated coaches in America on the same team......If the problem child can stay on task.........Bama will be on a whole new level on offense, Kiffin is a master mind on offense.......Kiffin reminds me of Mike Dubose in a way......great coordinators, but terrible head coaches.
