Jimmy Johnson was a Messy Head Coach. I wouldn't want to play or coach with him.

Sometimes in my spare time, I just love to sit back and read over and over again, "Boys will be Boys" by Jeff Pearlman.

Jimmy Johnson's method of coaching would not work in today's NFL. You don't mess with a players head like that and expect there not to be consequences in today's brand of football. In today's brand, the players would come after you if you did that. Its just best to tell them up front everybody will not be here at the start of the season so compete hard and we wish you the best of luck. Now Jerry did pour gasoline onto the fire, but Jimmy Johnson was wishy-washy himself at best.

It got so bad even his assistant coaches grew tired of it.

Football in the 90s..some funny stuff I you :lol:. Wish somebody had video of Jerry Rice throwing the middle finger.

It gets old Kendrick. Belichick hasn't won a Superbowl since the early 2000s. There comes a point where your players should know what is expected and know the consequences already. Mind games just causes a bigger mess.
 
Man, that is one of my favorite books. Not even a Cowboys fan but that book is insightful about the early 90's NFL.

Pop, everytime I read the Charles Haley episodes, I :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:.

But I get :smh: when I think, "Umph, And folks in 2013 say Suh of the Lions is the bad guy of the NFL. Those 90s were a trip.

The Pats have been to the SB five times since 2001 - the most of any team in the NFL. They've played in 7 conference championship games during that span as well. Also the most of any team in the NFL. They might not have won since 2005, but Belichick's treatment of his players have nothing to do with it.
 
Haley is crazy. The stories I've heard about that guy... :uhoh:

I've met that dude before and he looked like a guy you don't want to fight first in a bar fight...
 
Haley would sit in meetings and masturbate while moaning the names of his teammate's wives and describing them physically.
 
The book also gave insight that Jimmy Johnson himself almost overlooked talent. Even Aikman got upset when Johnson wanted Steve Walsh as QB.

I don't like how he did Harold Heath. Michael Irvin they say would slip names of teammate to coaches he didn't think belonged.

Honestly, out of the Three Triplets, I always had respect for Emmitt the most.
