An intersting video on the Turkey Day Classic Debate

Maybe you should reread the thread, or correct your post smart one. The people at skegee responsible for the decision to pay in the the playoffs over tdc are gone.

Heck, I wouldn't play yall for 100,000 dollars either. That's highway robbery....no pun intended.

I thought ASU would be closed by now. Aren't SACs and the FBI on campus trying to close ASU down. I hope they are successful. With all the cheating and money laundering going on you would think the tax payers would be tired of people stealing. Its going to be hard for that chick to make ASU do a 180 turn. We will be able to tell if she is crooked or straight. If she is around more than 2 months that means Silver has corrupted her and she is on the take. If she is there less than 2 months that means she is an honorable person who tried to turn ASU around.

All I can say is Wow!!!....I will add this though...at least your BS is consistent. Man You are really lost. I always had hoped that you were just joking around, but you are really lost. Damn, how sad...

The whole point is, at least for Bama State, Skeege, Gram, and SU, We can choose either to PLAY in our Classics or PAY in the Playoffs....simple as that....I choose the first choice....

I wish TU the best in the playoffs. Its not always about money.

If anyone denies that TU made money by playing in the TDC and benefited by national TV exposure, they are an idiot.

The TU alums I know are excited about not playing in the Turkey Day game anymore. They say don't expect them to go to ASU & play in their stadium each year. I also heard the pay out wasn't that great so why not go for the playoffs. One would think that ASU had better things to do such as worry about SACS and other important issues that could affect the university than Tuskegee. I heard that TU won't be back for Turkey Day festivities.

Nope bro, there were many Skegee fans sitting in the stands during the Miles game saying how they still wanted to play ASU on "Homecoming." If not on homecoming, then there were others who want to play us earlier in the year. Remember, Div.II schools can's play until Sept.1 and A&M played Skegee on the 7th of Sept.-----but, anyway we were able to play Jacksonville St. at the end of Aug. We were out of luck playing either Miles or Skegee in late Aug. You have to play SWAC schools at some point during the season. To me, it was a scheduling of conflict more than anything else.

Don't nobody know nothing but everybody is talking about how great a deal Skegee is getting by playing in the TDC. Why is that?

And nobody attacked my points just me personally. That never helps...only goes to prove my point. Skegee should be smart and stay away from the TDC unless its played a week earlier. You don't have to give up your whole season for their homecoming. You want money playoffs and something to play for. Don't be like these scaredy-cat SWAC schools who are afraid of FCS competition

So lets see...your points were that one of OUR schools should be closed down by now and the other was that another should give up their championship game....and you really think these "GREAT" points of yours really need attacking...wow....man like I said you are lost...

Try running your thoughts by someone else before you post them, or maybe borrow someone else's thoughts and post those...cause the method you used for the previous 46,000+ really isn't working for you. Do something different. Phone a friend or something.....smh....

I was told that Dr. Payton, TU's former retired President, had decided that he wanted TU to go to the playoffs and would no longer sign long term contracts with ASU. He has signed a 5 year contract before he retired which ended a year after he retired. Dr. Rochon actually followed his lead and did not see the benefits of continuing the TDC. He only signed a 1 year contract and gave notice to Dr. Harris at that time that TU would play ASU 1 more time & no longer play on TD. Those who want the 2 schools in the TDC can forget it! Not happening because TU will never give up the opportunity to go to the playoffs after missing the opportunity for so many years. There are other reasons too that TU does not want to play ASU on TD. That information was shared with me confidentially and I will hold true to that promise of not posting it here on this forum.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Dude, if you're not going to give any new news, it makes no sense to even bring it up. You're not giving us anything new.

I think everyone pretty much already knew a majority of this before you posted. There is a difference between needing and wanting and Tuskegee might need to play in the TDC from a financial standpoint.

If Skegee needed to play in the TDC from a financial standpoint then they would have signed an agreement to play this year! At least that is the way I see it. As it has been said by many TU people who "are in the know", TU won't be back to play ASU on Turkey Day. They will not give up an opportunity to play in the playoffs for the TDC.

I'm speaking of the long term not just right now.

I don't blame Skegee for getting out of the TDC.....its Bama St's homecoming. Why would Bama St pay someone for their homecoming, especially now that they are on campus in a new stadium? I equate it to Auburn finally telling Bama that they were no longer coming to Legion Field every year for what was essentially a Bama home game.

Schools pay other schools all the time for a homecoming beatdown, however in the case of Bama State and Tuskegee, the latter usually put the beatdown on the host team and got paid in the process.

Can you read? I didnt say any of that...smh

Maybe it's not about money. Maybe it's about TU playing in Montgomery every year. I don't know. Like the adage goes you can't argue with numbers. Even if the payout from the NCAA is zero-any amount is greater than zero.

Anyway football players are different, they want that metal on their fingers showing that they won a championship by beating the best from each conference in America. An NCAA championship may not make any money for the school, but if a tradtion of winning NCAA championships can bring top players to your school,it's priceless. Athletes ask themselves: are they average athletes or are they a championship athlete? Why play at a school where their athletic skills are not challenged by playing against mediocre athletes? How do they know if they are a championship athlete if they are playing against bullsh!t scrubs every Saturday? How do they know if they are getting better each Saturday by playing against average athletes? A chance and a opportunity to play against the best; and to win against the best; with a big ring on their finger to show that won against the best is what drives their competitive spirit. Is playing in a classic beneficial to the school or is it beneficial to a championship athlete that has that passion to beat the best athlete in competition? If this is the case then I can understand why TU opted out of playing in the TDC.;they want the chance to get that metal on their fingers.

History seems to say otherwise.

The SWAC is trying to make a little money. Besides, the SWAC would be like the MEAC, underfunded schools that don't have the resources to beat the schools that they would play in the playoffs. But you just want them there to take the beating that the MEAC take every year.
