But TP, is that not a part of the game....Going back to the Game in BR...did one of your scores come off a Dray Joseph fumble at our own nine yard line and in the Championship game didn't one of your scores come off a fumble scoop and score from inside our own 15....come on man...we just made more plays than you guys did and won the game. All that is in the game....

Weren't you people crying all season that we "lucked up" because one of your players missed a play in the end zone in Baton Rouge?

Didn't one of our players miss a play in the end zone at the end of our game in Houston?

You people are weird.

No way jsu was going to win the SCG. S.U. players knew they were better and let one slip away. That was not going to happen twice.

That's not the point I was trying to make. You all are acting like your offense was killing us. Your offense did well but our defense was bending but not breaking. The bottom line is that 13 of your points came off good field position.. NOT because you were just runnin all over us.

..and YES, it is part of the game. Ya'll played sloppy too but you pulled it out. We didnt. AND I have said more than once that had we played the way we played in Houston, ya'll would have beat us by 2-3 TDs.

no crying just stating a fact that if that play would have been executed properly we would have won the game in BR. But even if your guy doesn't step out of bounds and does catch the ball and yall do get the extra point...all that still would have only tied the game. TP was talking about turnovers and field position. I was just pointing out that all that is a part of the game.

Southern U. is more than fine at the skilled positions. We do need a few good interior lineman and linebackers to take us to that next level.......We will probably open the season up next year in front of 45-50,000 folks in Ragin Cajun stadium. We have work to do in order to represent ourselves out of conference better than we did last year. This is an area where we have a lot of fans also..........We have got to put in work and excel. Next year is a big season for the Jags that can cement the trend towards a dominant program...

i know a few people who have booked hotels in lafayette for that weekend already. yall better get yall tickets as soon as they go on sale.

I agree with you TP, both teams did play sloppy and it was just a matter of us making more plays and being a little less sloppy on that day. In a thread prior to the championship game I said that both teams had certain weaknesses and certain strengths, but that our weaknesses had gotten better since the last time in BR. We had gotten better against the run and our staff had gotten better as coaches. So the things that worked well for yall the first time were not gonna work like that again. Although I thought Comegy should have attempted to run the ball more, it still would have come down to making plays and we just made more on that day than you guys did. I honestly thought both teams were close to even overall, but that we had better talent in positions that was gonna make the difference. Plus, again we were a better football team than that team yall beat in BR.

Truth be told, I think after the game in BR, both teams left that field feeling like they were the better team. But the difference was our team and staff improved from that point and JSU kinda stayed the same if not digressed a little. And if you guys are honest with yourselves you'd say that you saw that too during the weeks after the first meeting.

I response to JROCK's earlier post: My biggest thing is how the staff will get better. They are in place which lends toward stability like I said earlier. Getting better to me means taking EVERY game seriously, not just conference games. Understanding that out of conference games, especially against other FCS school in the region is just as important as conference games. When you practice the whole week before the NW State game just for the PV game and ignoring the fact that you have a BIG game in NW State does not register as a good coaching move. I hated that we ran nothing we had practiced all week in the NW State game. As you can probably tell, that is the ONE game that sticks out and burns me up the most. I want this staff to focus more on, IF they are gonna have those type of programs on the schedule, then to take them seriously and game plan to BEAT them. That is where I want this staff to improve. The rest will take care of itself.

When I told them all of that they didn't believe me.

If you glance in the private forum, I have expressed my feeling about that.....lol

We ran the ball on ya'll in BR. ..and even tho ya'll couldn't stop it in Houston, we still refursed to do it more. Drives were stopped becasue of that. Like a 2nd and 2 play when the coaches called a pass.

Ima stop talking about how dumb DawsonOdums is. He is obviously smart enough to trick y'all out of a 3 year contract. Maybe folks who look dumb and talk dumb really ain't that dumb. Or perhaps your AD is so stupid that he was bidding against himself for a coach that nobody else wanted. If SU fired Odums tmrw nobody else would give him a HC job. Good job SU. You just ran your program in the ground

Yeah...I feel you...we beat the Southland school as the SWAC meant nothing :emlaugh:

I don't know TP...we took the ball at OUR own 1 yard line and drove the distance....I mean nickeling and dime'n yall..and before you throw in so call 'bad call' we had already drove the ball down the field at 'ease' I mean dude your defense couldn't get us off the field at "ALL", we put on a clinic on that drive and that was in all honesty the best play-calling of the year..yall couldn't do nothing and remember Dray was in the 'pocket' dumping passing...just think if dude was mobile...those 'read' draws that he was doing...it was 'plenty' of times he could have kept the ball and got at least a good 8-10 yards alone...then it was times he stayed in the pocket longer than he should have and should have taken off...and when he did, he was caught lol...just imagine when we insert that mobile QB back there come next year...You remember McGinty in 2010, when he put on a clinic lol..real talk that game..yall had no answer for that dude...he KILLED yall with his legs and yall had 2 LBs spying folk..then he made passes in that game too lol..which led us to COMEBACK from behind and score easily on yall and that year didn't have the players that will be on the roster come 2014...lol

This is a VERY unsmart move. SU is bidding against itself for an ungood coach that no one else wants and even if they do, let him go. Say thanks for the championship and show him the door. This was STUPID with a capital STUPID

I concur. Hands down, this dude is the sorriest coach to ever win the SCG. At his worst, Pete was better than Odums.
Thanks in advance su for keeping him around.

No no NO!!!! It was all Comegy's fault!! It's his scheme!!!

Finally, you said something that makes a tad bit of sense.
Letting a QB throw and run more than 55 times is ludricous, especially when you have big RB's and FB's to carry the load.:smh:

i know a few people who have booked hotels in lafayette for that weekend already. yall better get yall tickets as soon as they go on sale.

Another blowout just like NW State. Why do you guys keep setting yourselves up for the okie doke? A title in the weakest SCG ever has gone to folks heads.

I blame jsu coaching fraternity and delusional fan base for the high salaries in the SWAC.......1st Dean Pete and now General Odums has exploited Buffalo type competition. Of course it is their job to do so and I can't blame them. If those jsu people would just stop bending over in high profile games, the situation would not be out of control. We have got to move Mississippi Valley to the Wicked West and get Skegee and TNST in the east to bring some equilibrium to this damn conference! This mess has got to stop. I just don't see no other fricking way....... :smh:  :emlaugh:

TnSt would be the final straw. They'd really talk about leaving the conference then. They would be the slump ho (Thanks Mikebigg) of SU, GSU, and TnSU
