In 2006, Alabama A&M had a season overall record of 9-3 (7-3 SWAC). I specifically remember this because we had the exact same conference record when we represented the WESTERN Division in the SCG that year.

JSU had an overall season of 6-5 (5-4 SWAC)

In 2012, UAPB had an overall season of 10-2 (8-1 SWAC)
That same year, JSU had an overall season of 7-5 (7-2 SWAC)

Thanks for proving my point. You may not recall the talent we had in 2006. We started the year off 5-1 and faltered in the end mainly due to coaching. But the talent was UNMATCHED!
 
the next coach at JSU will not be a winner ....

we need to propose a law that TP cant turn his back on the future coach like he did BELL :lol:
 
I wonder will this affect the "dome" if JSU goes through the so call 'rebuilding' stages that happens when a new coach at times steps in..how will this affect that 'dome'

Recruiting is going to be tough...this is the meat of the season right now...

At least we are gonna try. We don't wait for a coach to drive our program into the ground before we react. It's obvious Comegy can't win championships in the SWAC. He had to go. He is a great, legendary coach but he was not getting it done in Jackson.

Our recruiting coordinator is still in place and signing day is not next week anyway. A lot of schools are just hiring coaches.

Why would this affect the DOME. The DOME has nothing to do with our football program. Some people seem to forget that.

This is for our admins to answer. They just need to be someone who can recruit as well as or better than Comegy and someone who can win!

No smack intended in what I posted earlier. Just presenting some facts.

While I too think Coach Comegy is a good coach (and speaks so well.....I love listening to his conferences), losing the SCG twice in a row is a pretty big blow. But to be able to represent the Eastern Division back-to-back, and represent the East in the SCG at least 3 times in his tenure is no small feat. It's not easy doing that and he deserves very great accolades for that. Regardless of who the HFC is at JSU, I think they will continue to do well in football and continue to have that talent that we all recognize in the conference.

I wish Coach Comegy nothing but the best......he deserves it!

Man!!!! You know the only way that dome is going to be built, if those White folks in Mississippi have a change of heart and you do realize the Civil War ended in 1865.

I think it does...Comegy had you guys on a winning track and ship level....so he put fans and had that support...not sure what the new coach will do, but chances are not as well as Comegy thus this may lose support and fan base....and again why build a dome for the football team when your fan base may not be what it is now...yall Home attendance may fall off bad next year..and that not a good thing

2006 is the year JSU actually did takeover Grambling and was chanting, WE RUN THE SWAC, and Grambling ran yall out the stadium!! good time I tell yall, Im gonna miss comegy !!

The dome is NOT being built for JSU football.. sheesh! We don't need 50K seats for JSU football.

No actually, you proved my point. In another thread, when I brought up these exact same facts (you had mentioned how my boys couldn't beat JSU at Veterans Memorial), you said the 2006 year didn't count because of your coaching (Bell in particular). Now you're saying 2006 does count. That is why I posted what I did back then and today.

In another thread this year you told some SU alums that they went to the SWAC by default like my folks did in 2012. UAPB did not win the West or go to the SCG by default. Another reason why I posted our 2006 & 2012 record.

firing Comegy was the worst thing JSU could do...

the new coach will suck....:lol:

on the AAMU homefront we were supposed to make an announcement very very soon but I'm hearing that it will be delayed cause we got some more thinking to do..... ;)

we playing spades or poker right now ...
