Saban staying at Bama

You shole is right JRock. That's why he fit in so well at his alma mater. Took Ron Zook to go recruit a black Qb to lead the Gators and Urban to take them to the title. One of the things that Urban has said he is glad to be away from is having to explain why he is recruiting a black Qb. Not an issue in Cbus. Don't even have one on the roster. Lol.

That is a very sad thing to have to say in this time and age. That type of behavior is indefensible....One thing I liked about Saban when he was at LSU and now Miles, they could give to chits about the Monday morning Father Knows Best crowd, they will play their best players at all postions....

I agree. Urban had a time with them Florida folks. I think it ruined white boys from getting recruited at Qb for him. Lol.
Saban and Miles didn't coach around that nonsense. Saban had Tony Banks at Michigan State and we know Miles don't care who play Qb. Lol. Les by all accounts is good folks. Strange but cool. I always thought he would fit in well in Austin.

Those guys heard a lot of racist opinions when their AA Quarterbacks had bad games at LSU. The thing I like about them is they come from a different mind set and know some of those folks are just ignorant. LSU has some horribly racist fans. I know behind closed doors old Spurrier has has much to say about AA QB(s). :emlaugh:

I guess what I meant is Saban and Miles didn't get groomed to think that way as young assistant coaches and head coaches. Spurrier arse was raised that way and can't let it go.

How many years ago is that? There were a lot of older coaches then. The trend is turning. And Spurrier still keeps falling short. New age. Coaching hires are getting younger. These assistants ain't waiting for these older coaches to retire. Schools are willing to roll the dice on these young guys.

Keep this in mind. South Carolina is going for a 3rd-straight 11-win season. South Carolina, let that sink in. South Carolina, the team that used to go 0-11 now is expected to win 11 games and challenge for a BCS title. That alone is an accomplishment in itself. Look at what David Cutcliffe is doing at Duke. David Baliff and Art Briles aren't spring chickens either. Heck, Chris Ault helped revolutionize college football at Nevada.

 yeah, nobody wants him now that he signed his contract extension. JR, I'm sure Saban could break the contract any time he wanted to...he just doesn't want to...

Bama ain't stupid. Nobody is going to buy him out. The NFL don't want him. Texas is out and Ohio State has Urban. Florida is the only other school not named Notre Dame that would pay a coach like that. So he is stuck at Bama unless he leaves for ESPN. They do have a standing offer for his services. I am going to enjoy watching the new coaches and some of the old coaches in the SEC get it in. The playoffs gone make it even harder.

Now while Chris Leak did do a great job, Tebow did help seal a lot of those close games we had in 2006. Yes I know something fishy was going on with the whole Cam Newton-John Brantley thing. Florida could have been doing what Alabama just did and won 3 BCS titles. I think those boosters and stuff now realize it and aren't as crazy about the color of their QB anymore.

Ault retired last year. Briles is still in late 50s. SC still not in a BCS bowl game either. Cutcliffe has a job with no expectations. Lol. Coach K runs Duke. You can't dispute it. The coaches are getting younger. Not older with these hires.

Florida would, but the only way they would pay a coach like that is if they have become a proven winner at the school. Hence the reason why basketball coach Billy Donovan is being paid around $3.7 million(2 national titles, 3 final fours, 3-straight elite 8s), and Muschamp is barely making $3 million at a FOOTBALL SCHOOL. They aren't just going to break the bank for someone that hasn't proven they will win at Florida.

Yes the hires are getting younger, but you were saying that the older coaches aren't winning anymore. Those are examples of that not being true. Heck, throw in Bill Snyder at Kansas State.

South Carolina hasn't reached a BCS bowl game only due to the 2-team limit. You know darn well the SEC has been short-changed a lot with that 2-team limit. South Carolina has owned Clemson and still Clemson will play in another BCS bowl game. They beat UCF on their home field, and will have to watch UCF get run out the building in Tempe.

True. It's how he was raised. Lol.

Either way, he is still a good coach, and will go down as one of the greatest in the SEC. Took Florida from mediocre to a powerhouse, and did the same thing with South Carolina.

He is a good racist coach. :emlaugh: That guy is an embarrassment to the game and the human race. He is a bully and a coward that ran from the NFL because he knew he could not get away with that stupidity around men. There are a whole lot of racist in America that do their job real well. It doesn't make them less of a racist.....

Until you have tangible proof of this, I will not taint the legacy of a great coach, that was the biggest reason why I became a Florida fan at such a young age. Dude has coached black players for the majority of his career, so until one of them comes out and says he is racist, I will continue calling him one of the best to ever coach in the SEC.

This has been a rough period for SEC haters. Saban staying and just when they thought the SEC was out of the Championship, they are in the big game.

Where he should. Texas never should have even looked his way. They need a young coach. I predict Saban to start getting his arse kicked more and more each year as he get older. It is inevitable that the young hungrier and innovative coaches start taking these older guys to the woodshed.

Now if folks were smart they would steal Kirby Smart from Bama as a head coach.

As long as he has innovative assistant coaches, Saban will be fine. Smart can and will be replaced. The guy who know one speaks about is Coach Burns, the running backs coach. That guy is crucial. Florida State tried to steal him last year. Burns has the smarts and the recruiting skills that make that offense go. If he can land Fournette out of New Orleans, it would be AWESOME!

That's really not so special. All they needed was a good coach who could keep some of the better talent at home. Loooootttta talent in the Palmetto state. The problem was the best of it was going to FSU, UGA, Alabama and schools like that instead of staying at USC or Clemson.

Yep. He was dismayed at how the Florida boosters strong armed the program to recruit their guy. Brantley was forced on him and even though they kept all th other criminals at Florida, they made him run Cam off for lesser stuff now that we see what all was going on. Been the talk since Urban got back to Ohio State. He can recruit as many black QBs as he wants in Cbus. He is 4 deep now with another one on the way from Ga.
