As far as seniors are concerned, Alcorn's been in this position several times with an experienced team and ended up having a worse record with more seniors.

Your coach and AD had nothing to do with yall not going to the SWAC Championship this year.
 
PV was small as it was successful for quite some time...you had defensive ends adding pounds and turning into NFL prospects which created that edge rush...but when the edge rush disappeared things changed and you better have smart as hell linebackers and secondaries

If you hold teams to just 30 points a game, it would not even be close
 
Whoever started this thread must really be excited about next year. But its only 8 months away so we might as well start talking about it. I can't get excited about next season unless JSU makes some serious changes to the top of the coaching staff. Losing to inferior talent and schools has really played out. JSU should have won the last 4 titles yet we have none. We are always going to get superior talent simply because of who we are but we are grossly under performing

I would also like to see some level transitions start to take place this year. Its time for Grambling Alcorn valley and PV to recognize what level of athletics would fit them best. I'd like to see those schools transition to the D2 level

If you speaking of athletics, you do realize TxSU's athletic revenue is more than Prairie Views athletic revenue. I don't think being in a stable system has anything to do with how an individual school manages their finances. The UL System is pretty stable, but somehow Grambling was the only school in its system that was fiscally unstable. If the heads of your so-called most stable system see a need to cut the fat, guess which school in the system probably would get cut the most? LSU is a very stable system, but UNO opted out for the UL System because they didn't think the LSU System was being fair to them financially. I really hope that most stable system has found a way to be fair to its HBCU school and there's not inequalities between the HBCU school and its sister schools.
 
I'm talking about overall...athletics is how the school wants to spend but that's only a fraction of the budget at the end of the day

I'm talking about staff salaries, look of the campus, area its in,, etc. Some SWAC schools pay so good only place some people can work at is the big state school if they ever leave...
 



But you first stated that a school being in what you consider a stable system as the reason why its financially in a better position. IMO, a school that is in its own system is in a better position, but that's only my opinion. If that so-called stable system somehow become unstable, where do you think they will start cutting first? Therefore IMO, it matters not how stable the system a school is in, it is how much control that school has within that system.
 
Look at what your school has been through and what PV has been through during that same time when it came to the economic downturn....whole different world

The A&M system is rock solid in Texas...if that turns for the worst than the world economy is tanking
 
There was a lot people that thought Enron, which was a Texas based company was rock solid, but soon found out different. I truly hope what you are spouting is true, due to the fact that your school have some type of control and input into the system they are in.

Also, I do believe not long ago, you were one of the ones on here that stated that Grambling was financially better off than Southern. But I understand why you think the way you do, because it is wise to always say positive things about your employer.

Well, it was a former Texas governor (George Bush) that damn near tanked the world's economy. I'm sure the people in the rest of the United States are keeping an eye on the rest of the nuts in Texas, to make sure that would never happen again.
 
My brother is great friends with Fobbs. Seems that he has scooped up Eric Dooley and from other sources they have someone from Tulane and McNeese on staff, etc. Don't count them out.
