Applicants For Grambling State Head Coaching Position Revealed

I believe Grambling made a decent hire(for them) but Fobbs salary is WAAAYYYY to high. He could've been had for 130K - that extra 65 could've been used to bolster his staff.

If he took the same job for 90 less than his predecessor, his agent would have been ran out of the business. Once you jack the salary up once, it is kind of hard to go backwards.

Spears would have hired Doug back with him. LOL.

Seriously, some Gram alum or alums probably encouraged him to do so. There are still Spears supporters in North La.

North La? There are still some Melvinites trying to start petitions, lol!

I was thinking the same, but you know what this tells me... Fobbs was hired by ULS System! It's good they had the search and all and it looks good I guess, but those folks at "Headquarters" stepped in and said "Here's one of yours, he's working in the System, and we think he understands protocol and chain of command".

Watch the scheduling changes... ULS rubber stamped this hire. I like it!

MB,
I see Lee Fobbs also applied. Now that his son got the job, you think he will bring his Daddy with him on his staff? You got to know he knew his old man was applying too. LOL.

Gram should have hired AJ. Gram is done. No one respects them any more. They won't be back until 2017 at the earliest.

You don't even believe that. A&M are historical losers, we don't want AJ, he lucked up and got one Swac Championship win in 300 tries and he was there forever. lol

Man take that country mess on some where. Yall losers are over. 0-11 two years in a row. Hot garbage. We have never had losing seasons like you had. Sorry milk muscles begging ninjas. No pride getting one the bus program.

Someone from A&M calling someone a loser is like a Hooker calling someone a wh0re. No room whatsoever.

:lmao::lmao:

How is that milk working out for you? :shame:

How is that one championship working out for you out of 8 tries? :shame::shame: BTW, No one from Alabama should ever call anyone country, that's like a Hillbilly criticizing a Redneck.:emlaugh::emlaugh:

In this instance, I think they made a recommendation that we HIRE one of our own who is currently working in the ULS system. It made sense to go along with it as he's a good coach and (my belief) funding was promised. We've made the call on hiring recently and all we did was cost the ULS buyout money. Trust me...the governing board calls the shots on all hires and contract extension. You think the alums and President made the call on Nick Saban or that the President is calling the shots at UT. It's their governing board...same as the SU Board letting Pete go and then Stump!

difference is the ULS boards governs multiple schools while the SU board only deals with 3 and 1 has football so you know where the priority lies

Yes, Alabama and UT has multiple schools but the regents are appointed with the intention to watch what's going on at the major school with a fine-toothed comb...there's a power struggle going with the UT president now and their board...a major

yet, you won't see that same struggle carried on at another school in the system

I think Grambling's hire was made under different circumstances but that's another day, another time..good luck

It's really 5 schools/campuses that are located in 3 separate locations. Three of the five campuses (SUBR, SU Law, and SU AG) are located in Baton Rouge in close proximity to each other. SU New Orleans and SU Shreveport are in different cities. SU AG control research facilities in other parts of the state, such as Opelousas, LA and I think they have a joint venture with LSU AG in Alexandria, LA.
