Is there really anyway to save our young youth of today?

Kendrick you always seem to post stats, to the contrary of what most of our people, are seeing and living.
Unless your stats are from OUR community and not linked to Communities overall, they are useless in solving
OUR problems, and you always seem to do this with every topic
Your stats never apply to us

So young brothers are not killing each other as bad as the media portrays it huh? :retard:

there you go again, talking about the United States and I'm talking about our neighborhoods, 83 can tell you about how Jackson is finding murdered bodies three at a time

When you say "our" neighborhoods you have be more broad than that. Just because a group of black people live in a neighborhood doesn't mean it is more conductive to crime than any other neighborhood. Then you have examine what contributes to the incidents of crime and violence in those areas.

I understand that but there surely has to be a way to reach these kids.

cut those benefits for kids not attending school & take the kids if need be
I'd bet those "parents" would do some parenting then
and lastly for those over 18 not doing nothing throw dey asses in the military,

It's not the color Black It's the LOW INCOME that breeds crime and in LOW INCOME areas crime is not down

your STATS group LOW INCOME areas with ALL Areas thats why your appilication of stats is junk and you do this with most every topic YOU need a class in the Proper use of Stats

Kendrick believes statisical lies, it could be raining, and he'll say it's not raining because statistically we're gettin less rain :retard:

I'm not saying that crime/violence in segments of black community doesn't happen where high levels of poverty and high rates of unemployment exist. It does. To go to the extreme and say that "our kids are lost" or are worse than the previous generation is not accurate either. And to believe that black youths are more troubled than before is the same rhetoric conservatives use to instill unsubstantiated fear, which creates the war on drugs, stop-and-frisk, school to prison pipeline and all these other racially imbalanced edicts to harm our people.

We really don't have a choice. It isn't a question of "can they be saved?" but rather "how are we going to save them?"

We can pretend that saving "individuals" is all we can do, but at some point those individuals are going to have to go out into the world and deal with all of those we turned our backs on. Or they can find other groups of "individuals" who we deemed worthy of saving and those little saved groups can continue to further isolate themselves from the rest of the race, and the race as a whole will continue its decline. What's that saying about a chain only being as strong as its weakest link? The strength of our race, of all races, lies in its masses.

The youth of today are the way they are because we failed them, plain and simple. And, to a large degree, many of our generation were failed by generations past. So, we can either continue down this road of individualistic failure, or we can come together and work towards figuring out a way to help our people get right again.

Like I said, we don't have a choice - we have to before white folks decide they're going to take care of our youth for us in the ways they deem fit. And once that happens they ain't gonna take a whole lot of time trying to sort out the "saved" from the "hopelessly lost."

That's sorta common knowledge that proverty, high unemployment and under development breeds high levels of crime. And I've posted stats that reflect that reality, too. But even still, that only reflects a percentage of "our" neighborhoods.

I have an idea but its crazy:

All these gang founders like Hoover, King Blood, Jeff Fort, Wayne Perry, etc. are sitting in a Supermax Prison. I would suggest POTUS have all them National TV appealing to our youth to stop the viloence. Its worth a try.

Kendrick had to have grown up in the suburbs. I grew up in the hood but even then, you still could actually walk around at night in the hood without having any issues. Now, not so much. Yea, crime may be down over all but are you seriously going to sit here and tell me that it's a lot safer to walk through Compton, New Orleans, Inglewood, East Oakland or the Southside of Chicago than it was in the 70s? We're talking about a period of time where they had the panthers vs crips and bloods now. I'm going to put it to you like this, for US I think the difference was back then the majority of black kids were raised by both parents in an actual household. Now, the majority of our kids are raised by single moms and many of them either raise themselves or are raised by the tv or the radio. Did black kids walk around with their underwear showing back then? Was the vast majority of violent crime committed by black youth against black youth?

I've done it for 28 years living on the South Side of Chicago before moving to Tulsa. Walked around Englewood in the day and night. Went to parties, churches, visited homes. spent the night. Same with Roseland, too. Kenwood, too. When you say South Side what part of the South Side are you talking about? There are a bunch of different hoods that make up that particular part of the city. You can walk around and survive. Now, of course there are some areas of every city that have bad areas which are more violent than others, but we can't sensationalize it, though.

And...

The vast majority of violent crime in terms of race has always been committed among those within that race just due to proximity. The vast majority of black deaths are at the hands of blacks just like the vast majority of white deaths are at the hands of whites.

and the vast majority of Chinese deaths are from Chinese? but not alot of Chinese on Chinese murders going on in the US.
Stats can be bent anyway you want them.

Most non-smokers don't die from lung cancer

Kendrick you need training

In terms of what we're talking about, how are the numbers that are available to everyone misleading? And a lot of the numbers and analysis that have been produced over the years have debunked many of the harmful long-held stereotypes of black people.

you're talking about numbers on a stat sheet.
everyone else is talking about what they see with their own eyes, and what
they have experienced, that's why it seems you're NOT in reality, I guess this is how a 6ft 300lb man can get bullied?

And those crimes are still documented, too unless they go unreported.

And even if we're talking about other perceived ills not crime-related doesn't mean youths are no worse now that they were a generation ago. If you come to that conclusion , the only thing you can go off of is antidotal evidence, which isn't always accurate.

I seriously think some of the young kids are lost. I do think that there is help for them. It starts with us being mentors, positive influences in their lives. These young kids are looking for people to guide them in the right direction, but some of US are too scared or unconcerned to make an impact on their lives.

You can have all the mentors and programs that you want but it still comes down to one thing-getting that black single MOTHER to allow that kid to attend.

That is the issue everybody will tell that they are having. You got these faction of folks that don't want anyone helping out kids or trying to change them.

You want change-well means leaving folks behind and saving who wants to be saved and calling out the folks who are causing all this.

I am sick and tired of these socalled black leaders that can come out the wood work when a white man or Latino man blows away a black kid for the hell of it. But will do photo opps with the latest black teen that gets in trouble with the law again and again. Or when black folks keep killing each other.

We defend bad behavior like there is no tomorrow.

We refuse to hold a person accountable for their actions. It's ALWAYS everybody else's fault.

We excuse everything. And we wonder why white folks hate us? We wonder why there is a movement to remove public education from the hood? Folks praise Zimmerman for killing Trayvon?

Folks are getting fed up and it will come down to save yourself or try to save everyone.

When do we finally confront the source of our out of control kids? BLACK WOMEN?

How many black me are dead because of a black woman? How many in jail?

Why are we not going off on these girls about screwing 10 different guys a week? Especially screwing worthless black guys?

Why are so many of our problem black males from single mother homes? WHy are we not yelling at these women to find mentors for these guys and to hold themselves to a better standard than settling for Pookie & Ray Ray?

You fix your black woman and you fix a lot of things.

I agree with Kendrick. I think the only reason why it seems violence is more today and that our youth are worse off is because of the 24-hour access to everyone and everything due to the internet.

Gangs were waaayyyy more violent back in the day then now. Drugs were everywhere. I just think because we are hearing about it everyday, all day by watching the news, listening to the radio, receiving updates on our phones from different apps, etc. that we think its' much worse.

Kids been killing kids in a violent manner since before I was born in Chicago. Remember the case of those two little boys that dropped another boy from the top floor of the Cabrini Green projects over 20+ years ago?! Stuff like that was happening all over, we just didn't hear about it as quickly as we do now.

Exactly. I was talking to an old head about this at a gathering last week. He said if CNN and the Internet existed when he was a kid, folks would have knew everything about everybody, too.

I forget the author, but there is this book written called "the way we never were" that examined how the 50 and 60s were not as it was portrayed on TV and in movies. Folks were doing all sorts of debaucherous stuff and everything under the son. But, it wasn't publicized or talked about constantly like stuff today.

I was about to say this. Kendrick may be off on some things, but he ain't on this one. We are lead to believe that we are killing each other every hour on the hour because we SEE it all now. Baton Rouge wasn't some great place in the 1980's, but if we didn't see it on WAFB or WBRZ or the Advocate (State Times), we didn't know about it. Now, as soon as something happens, it's scrolling across the top of their websites as if they were right there beside the perpetrator.

Roman days were more wild than most anything that happens today, but that doesn't mean that today is not sick
