JSU vs. SU: The Atmosphere That Use To Be Present at Nearly ALL HBCU Games.

The conference's games with the highest attendance are shown on national tv. Does the commissioner get credit for that?

The JSU-SU game is a conference game with one of the highest attendances but not shown on TV. So actually he loses credit for not allowing it to be on TV.

I remember in 1995 riding the Alumni Bus from New Orleans to Jackson. You talking about had a ball. But we loss the game 16-14 that year and I believe that was our only loss. I raised so much hell on the way back until I couldn't talk by the time we got back to New Orleans. :emlaugh: Those were the days! :emlaugh:

Man that was a sweet victory. I snuck into that game with my girl..We sat in front of Carl Jones(Alcorn coach) and his wife...LOL I was so far in the corner it was crazy. I was pledging at the time(dayum probation) and they laid off us that weekend...IT was SU vs JSU....LOL Our Defense was the shyt...Had two members of...on nevermind..Great game bad memories...SMH

Cox Communication is broadcasting the game regionally. However, I'm not sure if it is live or a playback.

They are all playback on Sundays I believe. At least from what I gathered from their website.

I never said that the game should not be shown. Matter of fact, I didn't discount that game in any way. (not my style) I only wondered why folks think it "needs" to be shown. All the more interesting that the powers that be seem to never recognize the need to show the game.

I think that a lot if not most of those on here wonder the same thing....

I was just thinking why espn does not show THIS game....jsu-txso really?! That game needs to be shown, people all over would get to see the swac version of bama vs lsu. IT IS HYPE!!! Win lose or draw this game is one to see even if you do not like either team. You can feel the tension in the stadium and you don't want to miss ANYTHING. THis game brings a lot of people, it is always fun and hostile lol. The relationship between the two is pure hate with a little admiration/ mutual respect. But if you don't care about either team, don't go. LOL I have never been to the mcc. In my opinion, if this game was a classic it could possibly be the #1 classic in black college football real talk.

exactly.... A person in his position needs to have pulse on the conference as to how and what would make more sense to generate revenue, prestige and progress for the conference itself. This move only shows that he is failing the conference or better yet his bosses (the council of presidents). As an employee it is your job to inform the supervisor ways to progress the conference (should you care about the position). Should he have a say in the area of which schools are highlighted surely he can make a suggestion.

Best game I've ever attended. That includes the 2010 classic. And that SU team in 95 was arguably the best team I've ever watched us beat.

Folks would not stay home for the Jackson-Southern game. Too much of the appeal is actually BEING THERE. You can do some things like black it out in Baton Rouge/New Orleans/Jackson markets ... but a live broadcast wouldn't hurt attendance. Now team performance or the weather would have more impact on attendance than whether it's on regional/national TV.

It would probably pull a decent cable TV number.

If they did your folks would stay home as opposed to going to the game.

I'm not talking about you per se @swac4life, but it's thinking like this that has hindered our schools and conference for far too long.

The goal of putting the Southern-Jackson game on national TV is to garner NATIONAL attention, bringing in more revenue to the schools and the conference, thus improving the conference over time. Also it would showcase our schools, helping attract students. Those students see the atmosphere of the Southern-Jackson game, it might change a few minds.

Sheeed i aint missed one of these since 76 and i shole thank the Lord for blessing me to be able to experience this GREAT EVENT!...And for me it aint about hate...I hear a lot of our fans and their fans say they hate the other, but i know that shit aint true, cause whenever one or the other plays out of conference they always, for the most part, pull for the other (JSU/SU). I for one Love lil ole J-State...lol as do I love all my HBCU brotheren....Now there aint one that I would rather beat the shit out of than lil ole J-State...lol, but that is strictly all in good FAMILY fun....

Honestly we at SU only have 3 schools we consider rivals...Grambling, Jackson, and FAM......Now I enjoy beating FAM....I cherish beating Grambling......But I LOVE Whipping on J-State!!!!....

The last time we were in BR it was dead. That campus use to be covered with people tailgating but in 2011 it was empty. Maybe this year since SU has won a few games and they have some hope now, it will be more active. Activity has been dwindling over the years. Lets see how active the campus is this year.

You need to post a few pics of Fantasy Land because you have no interest in reality. You can't tell me one thing I said that's was untrue

The MCC is a meaningless as a game....its more of Bamas only black event of the year. Most of the people that go to that game have no idea who is playing, nor do they care. Change the teams, you will get the same results.

Lies .....

how do you know most of the people who attend the game don't know who is playing or if they care?....you just make that bullshit up every year lol because that's how YOU feel...

The MCC is the biggest game not only in BCF but in FCS period...the numbers don't lie....you sound jealous lol

you talk about it being a strictly bama event but people fly from all over the United States and the WORLD...to be in Legion Field on the last weekend in October...

and guess what? the MCC will always be on top ....just the way it is..

Oh yeah its real funny how the game is so big you got JSU alumni throwing big azz parties during the MCC in Bham.....how in the hell that start happening???? couldn't stay away huh???

Why link the MCC to anything JSU-related just because one fan makes a comment about it that you don't like? Sounds nonsensical to me.
