This part would trip him up:

Exactly

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

LOL @ quoting Invictus and If...

However, seems like Sharp needs to sample that Robert Frost "The Road Not Taken" and take the road less traveled.

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost said:
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

just reading how everybody is piling on, co-signing and high-fiving, and seem to be blaming Sharp for everything. But then again, that's usual.

You know, Louisiana used to have this governor, Governor Huey P. Long. Governor Long used to quote a lot of poems in his speeches when he really didn't have much to say. He feed so much poetic bullshyt to the people that the State of Louisiana damn near named every State facility after him, such as hospitals, bridges, and buildings. Maybe Alabama State University can name its brand new stadium after our commissioner, the Duer Sharp Memorial Stadium, which would have a nice ring to it.

We are not piling on, co-signing, and high fiving each other and blaming Duer for everything, but we are tired of seeing his poetry as a means of blowing smoke up our asses without any real answers.

Here's a piece of poetry for him:

"If you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem"

That's ridiculous and totally irrelevant to the discussion.

Huh? :confused: If Duer Sharp said to do away with the 9 game mandate the Presidents would say ok..if Duer Sharpe said that every SWAC school was mandated to play an in state out of conference team the presidents would say ok...see where I'm going?

Yeah, you seem to think Sharp has a helluva lot of power and influence. interesting

What's ridiculous and totally irrelevant is watching Duer respond to Kenn's questions with a bunch of poetic bullshyt, as if we need to read poetry to solve the SWAC problems. Not only it's ridiculous and irrelevant for him to do something like that, but it is also childish. We need someone with a much mature mentality to run this conference.

I disagree with all yall. he needs to sing this great song "Hit the road jack, and don't you come back no more". :lol:

The thing is...Sharp serves at the pleasure of the member schools' presidents/chancellors, like the presidents/chancellors serve at the pleasure of their respective schools' board of trustees/supervisors.

However, Sharp has some reign in regard to moving the conference forward ... like the presidents/chancellors have at their respective school.

The gist of Kenn's argument is Sharp is outchea posting poetry while segments of fan bases at member schools (and member schools themselves) are growing increasingly frustrated with the direction of the conference. That is not a good look, especially in the wake of recent conference realignment/NCAA policy changes.

The thing is everyone knows the Presidents run the SWAC. The sad part is Sharp doesn't even understand his duties as the front man. Basically he is a PR man for the Presidents. he doesn't even know how to play the role to make the SWAC fans think he cares. He just goes along arrogant as always and not paying fans any attention. This is why our schools will always be broke. This is why our alumni is sending their kids to other schools. This is why our schools don't get the support from the community and alumni. Some how this dude has to get the message across to the Presidents, but he doesn't care.

TSharp is outchea
you're from New Orleans, huh?
:lol:

My thing is Sharp is a mouthpiece, a front man. Can he do a better job? Yes, but hell, who among us can't do a better job at our job?

I don't see how being mad at Sharp gonna solve anything. Start your fight with your own President. Then maybe he or she will start a fight with the other Presidents.

LOL...outchea is South Louisiana MH, not just New Orleans...

The thing is, Sharp should wield more power and influence over the presidents/chancellors, especially with the turnover at school leadership level since he got to the SWAC office. However, it seems as though he either willingly is not using it or the commissioner's post has been so neutered by the presidents/chancellors that it need not exist any more.

It seems like the presidents/chancellors at other conference offices get the big picture, but the SWAC somehow hasn't since the 1970s.

The PAC12 uses a 9 game conference formula... The BIG10 is moving to a nine game, and has banned FCS opponents starting in '15 I think... And the SEC coaches have talked a 9 game formula... Maybe Duer is a "visionary"... :lol:

He would get fired for doing the things you ask. After Rudy, the Presidents stripped control from the Commish. Even in the MEAC, they hired Thomas becasue the Hampton President assured them that he would just carry out their wishes. It's not like you can go to your boss and tell him what to do.. why you all expect Sharp to be able to to that?

They have more than 10 teams.
