Although I was not in attendance at the game, however, I viewed both halftimes on T.V. The difference is perfectly clear, TnSU took the W for halftime......

From beginning to end, TSU was on it..... The PAC Man eating JSU was epic....

JSU show was alright, J- Settes were cool,
but the dance routine was BORING.......

I have to agree. TSU's show was much better than JSU's. That Pac-Man eating JSU was the icing on the cake though. And they did it while playing "We Came to Play." That made it even better. Their dance routine was better, too. But, I didn't get the purpose of those people in the wind suits. That was pointless.

TSU's band reminded me of Stanford's Marching band, all that running on the field, a HOT MESS!

JSU had at all, sound, drilling and precision, if you were looking for a circus, TSU was your band.

That PacMan eating JSU is OLD..You can only do something like that once, after that it doesn't quite have the same effect..that was done in 06. It was dope then, not now.

Old....... Whatever, but it was effective and creative, and most of all disrespectful in a humorous way to JSU in playing one of their songs "We Came To Play" while executing the routine.........

If anything is old would be JSU drilling to the same song and drill done in the late 1980's, playing "System of Survival".......I have that same show on VCR tape when B.E.T. use to show HBCU football and the halftime.....And the J-Sette tune "Knight by Knights", which has been played for EVER......

Interesting how people remember what Tenn. State did during their show, but can't remember nothing memorable about JSU show..........

The scatter routine was done once from the PAC Man to TSU signature formation.........

Circus should be applied to J-Sate, bringing out two goofy clownish mascots (Wavy Dave and his girlfriend), and then bringing on The Fat Boys in the dance routine, I guess mimicking the drum majors....... I ask you, are the fat boy Drum Majors the answer to Alabama State's Honey Bees feature......enough with the foolery and gimmicks!!!!

Both bands did a great job but I have to give the W to TSU on the field. Their show was full of energy from start to finish. Ive seen far better dance routines from JSU. However JSU did out drill TSU. Dont care for all the jumping around.

This is about the 4th consecutive year of the pacman eating JSU tho...

LIES............like my man said earlier, it's only been done one other time and that was in 06', if I'm not mistakened.......

I'm not saying JSU was straight out garbage on the field, but their show was lack luster this year, especially the dance routine........Like some of the previous poster from other HBCU's said earlier (AAMU, Alcorn., etc...) Tenn State took the W during halftime.......that is all.......

Drilling to a song back in the 80's isn't the same as PacMan eating JSU letters. Gimmicks only have an effect the first time. You cant repeat the gimmick and get the same effect is all im saying. It was dope back in 06 because it was creative and new, but in 2013 not so much. I liked JSU's show better but hated the dance routine. I like TSU's dance routine better but hated the show (drilling).

Tnsu did ok....in the field. Jsu had the best real drill. I dont think taylor would ever let jsu form another school logo and do that. But jsu straight.....raped & outplayed yall in the stands

There has never been any competition in the stands. I can never recall TSU out playing or blowing the Boom in the stands. The only song TSU jams in my opinion is Say LA LA

The stands????? Who in hell remembers what happens in the stands.......50,000+ people come to see halftime, and they witnessed TSU serving JSU on the field.......after the game, everybody leaves, nobody remembers the stands but straight band heads......LOL

That pac man though.... it looked rather blah but I guess effort is what counts.

JSU halftime was rather blah........y'all could have stayed in the stands, cause honestly I don't remember anything y'all did.........honestly.......see you next year JSU.......

I disagree........ The PAC MAN eating the JSU was not a gimmick, that was part of the dance routine transition feature, or the close out.......

A Gimmick is when you bring individuals on the field that have no affiliation with the band at all(example---like fat people dancing, or like you guys did against Alabama State last week, bringing on exterminators to spray a person dressed like a hornet) those my friend are considered gimmicks.........

This dude is defending his school hard, lol! Nothing wtong with that. The summary is this, TnSU had a more entertaining show in my opinion. JSU had a more technical, well executed show. The looked and sounded damn near flawless, but the show was very similar to the first two weeks and the dance routine was dry. Normal fans would likely give the W to TnSU for halftime. JSU was the far better "band" by band standards. Two different things though. But halftime in the SWAC is largely about entertainment, so I give TnSU the edge. Mainly because I thought the show for the Boom would be new this week. But it was the best executed show I've seen from he boom in recent years. The are a beast this year. Best halftime - TnSu, best band -
JSU. That's how i saw the night.

The "Boom" is looking forward to September 28, don't think they really got up for Tenn. State, it really was a halftime show designed for a PWC at the beginning of season.

I concur with your honest assessment of both band programs.......LOL with you saying I'm defending my school hard......damn doesn't everybody.........

One must understand, our season is basically over being that we are not SWAC affiliated, so The Crats were going for blood against JSU during halftime......
