NCA&T's Broadway Has Already Confirmed He Is Not Leaving For Grambling

A&T coach Rod Broadway calls AD to nip Grambling rumors in the bud

The phone rang in Earl Hilton’s office a little before 2 p.m.

The conversation was short, and one-sided.

“Hey, coach,” N.C. A&T’s athletics director answered. “OK. … OK. … Uh-huh. … OK, great. I’ll talk to you later.”

Hilton hung up the phone.

“That was coach (Rod) Broadway,” Hilton said. “I’m not exactly sure what that was about, but he said if I heard any rumors not to listen to them. He’s not going anywhere.”

The rumors are coming from Louisiana. Grambling fired football coach Doug Williams first thing Wednesday morning.

This is why folks didn't respect bway. Now he can be quick to tell A&T AD he ain't going nowhere andnit makes the news wire just like that but any job opening while at gram he quickly threw his name in the hat.

He can stay right where he at. He was homesick. I'm glad he home.

He quickly called the AD huh. Smdh.
 
You all might want to call Pete Richardson. He is probably better than anyone coaching in the SWAC.
 
The funny thing about all of this is that I for one felt that GSU did not have the fiscal resources...then I said this is Louisiana and there is a political machine at work....somebody gave up some loot as a tax write off...or something else....hmmmmmm

Juluke ain't going to Gram. LOL. Neither would they hire him I don't think. They will have too many folks complain that he is a SU grad.

Student fees are about to kick-in. That could easily bring in $2 to $3 million per year. I'm sure that's enough to buy-out Doug's contract with some to boot.

Look how they treated Broadway. If they hired Juluke and as soon as he lost the BC, them mofos would trying to run him out of Gram saying he let us win. LOL. Hell they accused Doug of that during the first Doug run. LOL. Said Doug was too nice to SU and had more friends at SU (which was true) than Gram. LOL.

You are very familiar with Grambling. The minute something goes wrong, it's that SU grad fault. They blame SU grads for damn near all their problems. It's never their fault, which is how Doug was able to stay as long as he did.

It will be an interesting ride. Have they named an interim head coach yet?

They have never blamed "Prez" (as far as I know) for anything negative. I'm surprised they haven't erected a statue of the man on campus. :lol: :emlaugh:

Leave my Deacon out of this!!! Prez is a good man!!! Though he graduated from SU he denounced that school years ago...as a matter of fact he went back and got undergrad from GSU!!! :emlaugh:

Real Talk...Prez Jones is sacred to GSU. He is damn near more important than the founder of the university to some folks. The only memory I have of Prez was when I joined the church and he came and sat next to me and watched me fill out the paper. The next memory was how the church placed a black cushion in the spot he sat in church...that thing stayed there almost 10 years...
