You are so busy begging SU for another game that you never noticed that Golden Lion that came into this thread, McNeese's next opponent. :emlaugh:

Nobody's begging Southern for a game. We KNOW Southern's not in a position where they can afford to take another game with us, or the ass whipping that'll come with it...

Southern doesn't have to say they're skurred.....We know they're skurred

Still no response to that Golden Lion. But if you get on your knees and say please, we might consider.

It's okay...I can understand why you'd want a Golden Lioness to step in and take over. It's probably just as well. She's probably better at this than you are ;)

They are y'all next opponent, not SU. But I understand why you would rather go back and forth with SU instead of confronting the people you are about to do battle with. By the way, how is it being the Rodney Dangerfield of football?

Yes, we did. But I was on the record as being against taking him from the beginning. I had heard through back channels too much stuff about what he got away with when in high school in Leesville and then again when he was at LSU. He was one bad apple but I think our coach got pressured to take him. Big mistake that I don't think Matt Viator will ever make.

I wasn't too hot on taking Jantzen Jackson but I understood because, being Lance's son, he was like family to McNeese.

Any word on UAPB's ineligible players status. Anybody know the background info on what's up with that. We have a freshman WR, who looked real good in the preseason, all of a sudden get told he needed to take the ACT again because he improved his score too much from the first time he took it. Sometimes, I just hate the NCAA.

Doc

First of all, congratulations to McNeese on their victory against South Florida!

Kenn Rashad, owner of TSPN, posts all 10 SWAC Coaches teleconferences weekly, normally the following Monday after game week. Coach Coleman spoke on our boys ineligibility; you can go back and listen to his teleconference for the specific details.

Enough with ULL and LSU. Where do the UAPB fans live on this board? What do they think about the upcoming game? What is the deal with their dozen or so players who couldn't play last week? Will they be back to play against us?

I spent a month in Pine Bluff, Ark once evacuated for Hurricane Rita. Actually, it was 10 days in a Super 8 hotel but felt like a month. There wasn't anything to really do there and the highlight of the trip was going to Walmart at 2am when they were unloading a truck to buy as many gas cans as we could to fill up and bring back home for generator use. I swore I would never go back there to stay. :D

I sort of freak out when I heard we scheduled UAPB because I thought it might be a home and home situation and I might have to go back there, but they quickly told me it was a one game deal. :D

Doc

Again, you can listen to Coach Coleman's (or the other 9 SWAC coaches) teleconference. But I will take a tidbit from Coleman's teleconference and post what this particular UAPB alumni and supporter thinks about the upcoming game: as with any game, I am more concerned with my boys first. With me, it's their safety, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being that is my concern, along with their academic status. Like any die-hard supporter, I am also concerned with the effort my boys put on the field. Not speaking for the rest of the GLF, but as long as my boys play well, play hard, and play smart and put forth genuine effort and don't get hurt, I'm happy. As for our opponent, I honestly haven't given them any thought; I'll leave that to Coach Coleman and his staff to think on. But, and again taking tidbits from Coach Coleman, from the 24years I've been supporting this team, I do know that when my Golden Lions put all their efforts together and play as a unified team, the rest of the work will fall in place. And that's all I hope to see this Saturday.

As for "there wasn't anything to really do" in Pine Bluff, well maybe that was because everyone had booked weekend trips to the hottest, most traveled tourist spot Lake Charles, LA. I mean, I know folks who tear up the highway trying to get to that highly booked, highly recommended vacation resort-like spot. I mean, folks traveling in droves, making their mecca to the fabulous Lake Charles, LA!

And I'm also glad this is a one-game deal instead of home-and-home. Pine Bluff has a paper mill that stinks up the city pretty bad; Lord knows it doesn't need anything else, including outside sources, adding to the stench.

What are trying to say, your favor team (LSU) moved up in the polls?

If that's what you got out of following that link, then it's clear that Southern's problems go much deeper than the football field. Y'all need to add a reading comprehension course or something to the curriculum! ;)

96Lioness, thanks for the update! Doc wasn't trying to be disrespectful about Pine Bluff...you gotta understand he was stressed out not knowing whether or not his house and/or his office made it through the storm...

And his inquiry about the status wasn't trying to make an issue out of their eligibility. APB has a good reputation and he's mentioned in other forums that he thought APB would be a challenge if they got all their players back and that the Arkansas State game wasn't an indication of what to expect from the Golden Lions...

You'll find that Doc is the most courteous of all the McNeese posters....I'm generally the one who stirs the pot.

Are you going to be making it down for the game??

If so, you should go by the GeauxCowboys.org tailgate spot...it's easy to find! Just look for the banner with the same name!

UAPB GOLDEN LIONS!!!!!!

:-)

How you doing Lioness, nice to meet you.

I'm tired of Jay's sparring with the Southern fans and glad to see you here.

You coming down for the game?

Do you know where I can get a UAPB hat for the opponent hat wall in my office?

Very nice! You live up to your reputation.

At the time, I was in Pine Bluff there was hardly anybody in Lake Charles because it was right after Hurricane Rita and the National Guard had roadblocks up keeping anybody (without proper credentials) from coming back.

There sure are a lot of Texas folks who like to come to the Lake Charles area and give their money away to the casinos. Also, a lot of people come in for the hunting and fishing in Southwest LA.

To be honest, we really didn't look too hard for something to do in Pine Bluff. We were more concerned with watching the weather channel and news to get any information of the damage back home. We did find a nice little park that was close to some golf course and some water and had a nice little cookout.

The worst part of the evacuation was the trip up in the evacuation traffic. It took us 22 hours to get from Sulphur, LA to Pine Bluff. Something I hope I never have to repeat.

Are you coming down for the game?

DAMN!! Are yall scared su? Are you? Get Broussard on the phone and schedule the game. Just put the money out upfront so there won't be any shenanigans.

Regarding my Golden Lions, I didn't take what was said in offense (I've heard worse). But I posted what I did to dis-spell any false accusations and possible ignorant assumptions.

And yes, I plan to be in Lake Charles this Saturday (God willing).

Man, Mcneese done came to TSPN and called out SU. This is a sad day for the SWAC.

Hey bruh, not for the SWAC, but for su. su doesn't come anywhere close to representing the SWAC after that atrocious beatdown from Houston. Come on pops.

We didn't play FAMU in 2004. I was addressing his lie about McNeese giving S.U. our largest crowd that year.

My bad, but you know those LSU Far West aka McNeese fans are always stating incorrect stuff. LSU Far West/McNeese forgot to teach them how to do in-depth research.

They were ineligible on their own accord and had nothing to do with the people who paid for grades. Most were grad students. None were athletes or even ex athletes.

Pete ran a clean program. Players were ineligible because they chose not to go to class and take care of their business like they should have. Pete never had any players involved in any academic scandals.

Right, because clearly the NCAA would have turned a blind eye to that. lol

If you have time, you should go by the GeauxCowboys.org tailgate...it's on the West Side of the Stadium between the track and Common Street...

During the game, Doc will be one of the guys prowling the sidelines with a camera...Tall, dark hair, some grey....he'll be easy to spot!
