So did SU beat a good team or a slap sorry team? no smack .. just asking.

Congrats on the win tho.
IMO, These schools are "low to mid level" D1 schools in the US. Granted the 1st team made it to Canada Final Four last year (I think), they are not ACC or Pac 12 tough. Windsor only played 21 games last year. SU won 23.

Besides SU winning, what I like about this is it puts a better light on HBCU's and the SWAC as a whole. When I look at the other D1's up there, Ga Southern and The Citadel, they are sorry. But as we know in the past, sorry teams for other conferences regularly would defeat our top team in the "play-in" games. Maybe they thought since SU was a 16 seed coming from the SWAC, we would be a pushover.

Like I said in an earlier post, I hope this is a glimpse of what is to come from our conference. Last year, 2 SWAC teams defeated 2 SEC schools. TSU defeated ULL......there were a few others but hopefully we start turning things around in sports where we have to compete with the "Big" conferences!!!! (basketball and baseball)

Also, Windsor's enrollment is like 15,000-16,000 while Western Ontario's enrollment is 35,000 ... despite what we may think, these are still larger schools than our (SWAC) schools. I would equate these Canadian schools to West Coast Conference/Atlantic Sun/Southern Conference team

I didn't realize they were that big but I guess the NCAA looked at the way we performed in the tournament and invited us. These folks on the board are making it seem as if we picked who we wanted to play against. :smh:

I hope our tour of Canada is the just the first stepping stone for a great out-of-conference run for the SWAC in general. More of our teams win out of conference, the higher our NCAA Tournament seed. The higher our NCAA Tournament seed, the better shot we have at advancing. The better shot we have at advancing, the more attention to our programs. The more attention to our programs, the more talent will be interested in playing at our schools and more sponsors will be being sponsors of our athletics programs.

Okay, I got a little hate to add... those are some ugly arse uniforms SU :slap:

In all seriousness, I see nothing but upside for SU in basketball right now.. Seems to be building a decent program.

LOL. Practice or exhibition uniforms. LOL. They are new though.

Banks is serious about what he is doing at SU. He is already recruiting for the next class of kids. Banks understands what SU basketball used to be in our glory days since he has those kind of ties to the program.
