Alcorn adds University of Houston Transfer QB to mix

If I counted right, you guys have five QBs on the roster. Six if you have the Air Force transfer. Do you all anticipate any of them changing positions? I know the two freshmen could redshirt, but I wonder if some of them could be used elsewhere rather than sitting on the bench.

don't know honestly, but I do know we have wrs too :) so I doubt they will be needed there.

Who said we discovered something new....check to see who started the post..
This thread quickly became a "we got this guy from that school" thread. Braves posters. Not saying it's a bad thing, just responding to my main man, Braveman.

Payne and Vessell have switched from QB over to WR.

He's listed as a WR on the roster. Y'all still have five QBs with supposedly one more on the way - John Gibbs, Jr., Khaderal Hodge, Zerick Rollins, Jr., T. J. Menning, Lenorris Footman and Mystery Guy from Air Force.

I can see the true freshmen Hodge and Footman changing positions. Though I'm sure Hodge was promised a chance to play QB when he signed. Kid is one heck of an athlete no matter what position he plays.

zerrick rollins is the qb that transferred from Air Force Prep school so its only those five that you counted.

Can they WIN AND GRADUATE ON TIME? That is all I care about dammit. My Braves have hyped me up before just to let me down later in the season. Can THESE Alcorn Braves win 7-9 games? Can They? Prove It. Until then, I will reserve my judgment.

Calm down, BH123.

You should be excited. The team actually looks good on paper. The QB competition should be fun at least.

will you shut up... I know Hodge & Menning grades are both on point so chill out with that

And BTW...I STILL BELIEVE that most athletes on Alcorn's roster should come from the state of Mississippi. Transfers are good but don't make them you strategy. At best, have them come in and compete with the incoming freshmen so eventually we can lower the number of transfers on our team. Competition breeds improvement

I've heard this shit before. We talk a good game but can we be consistent week in and week out? Don't give me one big damn win and then play sorry as shit the next week.

No are ALL of their grades on point. See, I'm not big on pre-camp hype. I love Alcorn just like you do but I want the cycle to break. Can Hopson break the cycle?

See Alcornites, this is what I don't want to happen:

Some schools get these transfers but when shit is about to hit the fan, the Head Coach has a tendency to leave early. I don't want a Pete Carroll/Chip Kelly/Urban Meyer like situation to happen at Alcorn. We CANNOT afford to have that happen. If that happens, our football program might as well get shut down.

I'm happy that Hopson has brought in these athletes. But it is like I said earlier, all I care about is Winning AND them graduating on time. Be Both or Be Destroyed.

we didn't start this thread & we haven't been hyping anything up. Somebody got word of what we had & put it out there. None of us did this...so the hype isn't on us. I wasn't going to say anything but go watch T J Menning workout on youtube...I think it will ease your mind. Even if he can't start we have Hodge & Footman who are way better athletically than what we had last year. All of these guys upside is good. So chill

somehow I knew BH would come in and turn this mother out

Let Coach H handle this. If he screws up then you go on your wild rant about grades and graduation etc.
But right now just enjoy the transfers he brought to Lorman.
Its healthy competition

I'm ALWAYS a fan of competition. But there is winning and then there is winning the right way. I want Alcorn to win the Right Way. Like I've stated earlier, the last thing we need is a Pete Carroll/Chip Kelly/Urban Meyer situation here.

let me set the record straight, I am a straight up Alcornite and very proud to be one! I was excited about the news and decided to share it...nothing more or nothing less. GO BRAVES!

Braveheart is right to reserve judgement. Sounds like Alcorn's hyped again.

did alcorn find that secret hiding spot jsu puts their christmas in july stash? we took all their gifts and left them coal instead?

Alcorn's really putting fear in folks with their 5'5 runningback from Notre Dame.....high school and that untested freshman from Houston.
LOL at hidden gems. They're hidden for a reason.

I don't think this is over hype brave but i understand your apprehension. What I do know about the state of alcorn is that competition is being built and this off seasons conditioning has been off the charts.

Competition is good for any program....I havent heard of Alcorn getting transfers like this before but its the way of the FCS world tho (funny how we did it we were talked about by everybody) O well wish Alcorn success against everyone but JSU!
