True....The first step in recovery is identifying the problem, which Southern administrators have done. The next step is creating and executing corrective measures which is underway but will be a gradual process.

Charles McClelland had the toughest assignment in the Southwestern Athletic Conference when the Prairie View grad was named athletic director at his alma mater in 2001.

Though just 29 and with a background in accounting, his mission was to turn around an athletic department that long had been the laughingstock of the SWAC.

McClelland figured his best bet was to look 300 miles east, to a Southern University program that treated the conference’s athletic fields like its own personal playground.

What the hell does open enrollment have to do with NCAA eligibility? Are you saying JSU only admits players who far exceed the NCAA standard? Do you know the NCAA standards are more strict than JSU's minimum standards for non-athletes?

I was quoting the reporter and he was quoting Broussard. I guess neither of them know what they're talking about.

Truth be told, you guys used to let anybody in your school and sports programs. When they began putting restrictions on the school, this slowed down Pete's program a lot. su football was never the same after you guys got rid of open enrollment.

That is not true Jayrob. Dr Spikes had already started that with Admissions Standards when she was President at SU. We just kept pushing the envelope more and more. We didn't have open enrollment during her tenure. She was the one who hired Pete. The standards just kept going up.

No you don't dude. Thats the second lie you've told in this thread. There was a day when u could drop a penny and get an argument from a jag fan. Now you guys are so timid that I can't get not one of you to even look me in the eyes. SU fans walk around with your head down like you looking for crack or something. It's really sad what LyvoniaMitchell has turned y'all into. If you weren't such pieces of garbage acting lunatics when you had that brief patch of success I would feel sorry for you...but as I kick over a grill and those old men look at the prime meat on the ground I feel nothing. Even Valley fans have more pride than SU fan.

I remember when that area next to the ticket booth was full if RVs and tailgaters. Now its a ghost town. That parking lot for the additional seats SU built for when MightyJSU comes to town was full....now its empty. I went around there in 2011 with my boots on ready for some action from some old ThurgoodMarshall looking dude. But no one was there...nothing but tumble weed. And the few folks that were there looked so confused and out of place. They just looked like they were fulfilling an obligation.

So no....your fans have no swag....NONE. The day you hired Stump it all left.
 
Grambling has swagger especially after beating JSU over the years, 41-9 in a SWAC Championship or in 2011, when they were #1 in BCF and #15 in the nation and Grambling walked in and beat that butt. Grambling has really cemented our dominance over the blue-white puppies of the east. In 2006, Grambling was 1-3 and JSU was 4-0 and they came into Robinson Stadium chanting WE RUN THE SWAC, and left with their worst defeat of the year, I could go all day with the Grambling beat downs of that school on Lynch Street!!
