The Most Redneck City in America

I love ATL, one thing I've notice about the city is that people are willing to come together to make a dollar. Y'all dont discriminate but would rather live in separate locations.

Although discrimination and segregation are two separate things, I have a hard time understanding the separate but equal theory, especially when a county like Forsyth County (2012 census pop. estimate - 187,928) that has a lot less people in it than most counties in Metro Atlanta, has way more Whites than Blacks (95.05% White, 0.70% Black), but has the second highest per capita income in the state. Forsyth County is right behind Fulton County (2012 census pop. estimate - 977,773), which has approximately 5 times as many people than Forsyth County and is more racially divided with just a few more Whites than Blacks (48.1% White, 44.6% Black or African American). I bet if the Whites in Fulton County was not included, the per capita income would drop below Forsyth County and probably a few others.

Counties Over $25,000
1. Fulton: $36,412
2. Forsyth: $36,098
3. Fayette: $34,942
4. Cobb: $32,713
5. Oconee: $31,715
6. Cherokee: $30,001
7. Columbia: $29,185
8. Harris: $28,753
9. DeKalb: $28,064
10. Gwinnett: $27,301
11. Glynn: $27,273
12. Bryan: $27,209
13. Pickens: $26,525
14. Henry: $25,990
15. Monroe: $25,882
16. Coweta: $25,730
17. Chatham: $25,240
18. Houston: $25,192
19. Putnam: $25,188
20. Morgan: $25,181

No they did not. To be honest with you, I enjoyed working in Forsyth County when I worked on a land development project for a residential community with single family homes that the realtor were advertising the value of each home for more than $500k. It was peaceful and quiet and no one hassled me for any spare change. The racism I experienced came from a competing firm located in Atlanta, GA. I guess they were mad because a Black person was doing the work that they thought they should have gotten.

Bruh I have been going up to Ela Jay and Forsyth since I was a child. Never had issues. Folks over react to stuff in this country. It is just like when I worked in Pulaski, Tn home and birth of the KKK back in 96&97. It wasn't what folks made it out to be. By all the bright skin, blue eyed and green eyed blacks I could tell white and black folks were getting along up that way for years.

I agree, but what’s perplexing, since Atlanta's Metro Area is considered the Mecca for Blacks in this country, why more Blacks haven't moved there. It seems like the perfect place for high income Blacks that would want to get away from the foolishness in the inner city.

You gotta realize, most of us who were born and raised in Atlanta don't even know how to get to the outer loop. Growing up folks didn't go out that way unless they had to out there.

I'm pretty sure in most cases that might be true, but there probably are more people that didn't grow up in Metro Atlanta then those that grew up in Metro Atlanta.

Most are still Georgia residents who moved from small towns in Georgia that had family in the metro area. Same thing, different route.

Here's some more interesting demographic information about Fulton County:

FULTON COUNTY, GA PER CAPITA INCOME BY RACE OR ETHNICITY PER THE 2000 CENSUS
Overall Per capita income $30,003
White $45,184
Black or African American $15,332
Native American $20,862
Asian $24,950
Native Hawaiian and Pacific islander $13,597
Some other race $12,227
Two or more races $18,925
Hispanic or Latino $15,168

http://www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/incomeOverview.php?locIndex=7956

Although Fulton County per capita income for Blacks ($15,332) is slightly higher than the overall per capita income for Blacks in the country ($14,437), the per capita income gap or dichotomy amongst Whites and Blacks in Fulton County ($29,852) is a lot larger than the per capita income gap or dichotomy amongst Whites and Blacks throughout the country ($9,481). I determined the per capita income gap or dichotomy by subtracting the per capita income for Blacks from the per capita income for Whites. Seems like the so-called Mecca is looking more like the Redneck Mecca in Georgia.

You got way too much time (or hate LOL) on your hand.
it's "interesting" that you quickly dismiss that the per capita income for blacks in Fulton is higher than the average in the country", but harp on a gap between black and white, as if such a gap only exist in Fulton County.

I guess if I'm black with limited income in Gary, Indiana or Detroit, MI or New Orleans, LA, I will feel much better about my situation because of an income gap between blacks and whites in Fulton County, GA. :retard::retard:

Clearly, Atlanta remains the overwhelming magnet for African-Americans in the South, attracting triple that of Dallas and more than Dallas and Houston combined.

Since you do not want to seem retarded :retard:, I suggest you go back and read my post THOROUGHLY. Below you'll find what I typed in my last post. I added the word "average" to help you to better understand.

Although Fulton County per capita income for Blacks ($15,332) is slightly higher than the overall AVERAGE per capita income for Blacks in the country ($14,437), the per capita income gap or dichotomy amongst Whites and Blacks in Fulton County ($29,852) is a lot larger than the per capita income gap or dichotomy amongst Whites and Blacks throughout the country ($9,481). Basically, the large dichotomy gap shows a sign of workplace discrimination throughout Fulton County. Also, if the income for Blacks in Fulton County is way less than the overall average income in Fulton County, then it would appear to me that most Blacks are struggling just to keep up with the cost of living in Fulton County.

so, does this "dichotomy gap" which "shows a sign of workplace discrimination" exist only in Fulton County, GA? Are the only "blacks struggling to keep up with the cost of living" residing in Fulton County, GA?

Also, if one would have opened the link I provided, they would have noticed that the per capita income for Whites in the country is $23,918.

Since Blacks nationwide have a smaller per capita income compared to the overall average per capita income, I'm sure Blacks are struggle throughout the country, but the nationwide gap is not as large as the gap in Fulton County. Maybe you should research to see if the large dichotomy gap is caused by the recent vast influx of Blacks relocating to Atlanta without jobs, but even if that is the cast, Fulton County dichotomy gap between Whites and Blacks is still extremely high.

Also, the information I posted is not from having too much time on my hands, it's called being able to thoroughly interpret statistical data produced by the United State Census Bureau, especially when it relates to African Americans. But it is not like someone can't debunk any data, especially if a key component wasn't considered.

ummm Jag,
Two things.
1. The link you posted is from 2000.
2. Metro Atlanta is more than Fulton County

carry on.......

If you go back and read again, you'll see I put 2000 in the heading of the list I posted and I know Metro Atlanta is more than just Fulton County, but majority of the City of Atlanta is in Fulton County. Maybe you can find more recent data to prove that the 2000 numbers has changed drastically, which I doubt it, but right now 2000 is all I could find.

The average median household income for Black residents in metro Atlanta is $41,047, which is roughly 74 percent of that for all residents of metro Atlanta. Nationally, that ratio is 67 percent (US median household income for all residents is $50,221; for black residents it is $33,632). (US Census Bureau – 2009 ACS)

JAG89, go look up how many black owned businesses Atlanta has versus the rest of the south.

I don't want to take away any glory from you. So do yourself a favor and go right ahead and post it. I'm sure Atlanta might have a large number of Black owned businesses, since there is a large number of Black folks there that need their hair, nails, and toes done, but the nails and toes jobs might be owned by Asians. :emlaugh:

That's median HOUSEHOLD income, which mean if you got two, three, or more people working in one household, their combined salary is $41,047. Household income is not the same as per capita income, which means what each individual makes on an average.

btw, I have a degree in Public Administration. I could talk this stuff til the cows come home.
LOL

Go right ahead, but make sure you are comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges. Comparing apples to oranges makes no sense.

so you only wanna look at per capita income, huh?

:lol::lol::lol:

damn!

ummm, the numbers you posted are from 2000. You posted that you don't have don't have any more "current" than that. Are you so stuck on whatever point you're pushing that you refuse to look at income numbers that are much more recent than the ones you posted? :retard:

c'mon man. It aint this serious. Is it?
