I personally think they don't have enough pressure. Problem is, its hard to break up a hookup.

And I mean pressure on coaches AND Players. Players have gotten too lazy as well.

That JR and building Dynasties and going to the next level. Everytime I read a SWAC Football preview, it seems almost every year there is either a new Head Coach or we are rebuilding, etc.

I know its all about the money nowadays. I get that. But dang, its kinda hard to market yourself in 2013 when you can win the SCG one year and be at the bottom of the league the next. When is the last time we had SWAC Back 2 Back Champions?

Dude, sorry teams like Valley, Alcorn, and Southern just gonna be sorry. They are not football schools. JSU has gone the SGC and went 9-2 and 8-3 the years before that. So you ain't talking about us.

BH, I am a realist. While I still support HBCU football. I know the rest of the country don't care and they are not going to care. We are not heading back to a time where we get the cream of the crop players. I hope I am wrong. But I just do not see it in the next 5-10 years for sure. The better student athletes are going to keep getting stockpiled by bigger programs. As far as any one team dominating the conference again, I think it is always possible for a school to get on a roll for awhile. But I don't think you will see a school dominate for decades or we will see coaches like Coach Rob come through the conference. If they are really good, they will be noticed and plucked away before they can be at any of our schools for a long time. Especially if they are young and upcoming.

I really don't know what the future is for HBCU football. It is going to be an interesting next 10 years for our schools.

It's one thing to make demands of coaches, but the players don't owe the fans jack.

Chances are that it's not the players who have gotten lazy. It's just that fans have gotten dumber in their assessment of student athletes.

Boss, that's not a very smart statement. If you are going to school for free, you owe us something, especially those who contribute to the program. They not just playing for their mama!

When students sign those LOIs, they are signing with the school. Not the fans of the schools.

There would be no LOI for them to sign if it wasn't for the school. I don't like it when kids think they are doing us a favor. I jump for joy when a player leaves JSU. That means he didn't wanna be there in the first place.

I view it as an even exchange. The student athlete plays for the school and in return the school will pay for his/her tuition. There are always exceptions, but I believe a student goes where he/she wants to be...given the options they have.

Yep. The only thing the student athlete owes is giving themselves the best opportunity to enhance their lives through study and graduation, and to represent the University in a positive manner, win or loss.

They don't owe us isht. LOL. They earned their scholarship. The only thing they owe us is to finish their education. Wins are not guaranteed. That is what we paid the coaches for. If said student athlete has done their job and did what the coaches asked of them and don't win. It ain't their fault. But one thing for sure. They can graduate. You acting like you T Boone Pickens or somebody donating to JSU. LOL.

I don't know who T Boone Pickens is but one donor/supporter is no more important than the other. If I fly to two or three games or in the case of when I was in ATL or MS and drove to 8-9 games a year, yes, they owe me something. Not me personally but the alums who support the university ARE the university. Surely, JSU football would NOT be JSU football without the fans in the stands.

JSU was catching flack long before TP came along. We're good in most sports and folks hate it.

And we DO put pressure on our coaches to win at JSU, so as TP says, we're not to be included with said schools.

That's still a debt they owe the school as well as the fans.
