Cooper to USC?

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - University of Southern Calif. will hire Texas Southern University coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke as the Trojans' new head women's basketball coach, FOX 26 Sports has learned.

"It's a great opportunity for me. I will miss Texas Southern," said Cooper-Dyke in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "It's awesome to go back to California to coach at your alma mater, USC, where I grew up."

I had a feeling it would happen but I was secretly not wanting her to take the USC job. I was semi-hoping that sTu womens team would've secured a much better brand of talent for Coop that she couldn't convince to attend PVAMU (urban enviro).

Well... I wonder if Toyelle has been phoned from Charles? :emlaugh:

Yeah, i was hoping this also.

hell...she would get a $100K raise....

I don't know if TxSU would pay her what Coop made. But I could be wrong. Sounds like it still would be a major raise if she went from PV to TxSU if Coop was making 100K more than PVs coach. Even half of the 100K would be a tremendous raise.

What is ND paying her? I would love to see that thang roaming SWAC sidelines. But I bet she thinks she will get a bigger job sooner than later. Can't see her leaving ND for a HBCU.

TSU experimented with someone from major college hoops named Yolanda Broughton and see how that went

Give it to Johnetta for a year and go from there
