True...I was just thinking of something since Jazz was already taken...I doubt We change the name of the Grizzlies though...We put more of a stamp on it than Vancouver did when they had the team lol...#GrizzNation!!

As someone else suggested the New Orleans Bounce would be a tight name.

The Bounce sounds too NBDL or WNBA to me. I thing the Krewe would have been nice.
 
In the 1970s, the New Orleans Pelicans were a minor league baseball affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.

True that, didn't feel like bringing it up. There was a lot of press about changing the latest minor league's team to the Pelicans also because people don't like that mascot name either. :lol: :emlaugh:

Wow. I have been saying that since the Hornets went to New Orleans. I think the "Mardi Gras" would be a great name for a NBA team in the big easy. I like the Rougarou over all of the names listed in the link.

I like the Krewe name, but I didnt see the issue with the hornets other then bennet wants to make money of of merchendise and most already have hornets gear.
 
Jazz was ideal but Utah would not return what doesn't belong to them (thieves). :lol: :emlaugh: Pelicans, IMHO is the next best thing identifiable with Louisiana because, ULL has Ragin Cajuns, Tulane has Waves, and Miami has Hurricanes. It sure beat the hell out of Hornets because that is foreign to LA. I would have chosen Hurricanes though if it was my decision (damn Miami). :lol: :emlaugh:
