Tarvaris Jackson on trading block





It's amazing all the hate T-Jacks receives...and from people you would think would have his back...Wow...amazing.....If you can't see that T-Jacks is actually better that some of these guys who are actually starting in the league right now, you may need to check your football IQ....Mark Sanchez is only playing cause of his big $ contract, Tim Teebow is only around at QB cause of fan pop....hell the Jake Locker kid is really not that good, I could go on and on....again Minn. is the one who is paying for their mistake and will continue to do so...
 
It appears some Jackson State TSPNers can't get over the fact TJ beat their azzes while at Bama State.

I know, but you would think time would have healed that by now...Hell he beat our ass a time or two as well, but I can see past that on to the big picture. I mean damn. Hell Casey T. beat us twice on last second sh!t, but that didn't stop me from wishing that kid the best and to go on and possible represent us as a SWAC Qb in the NFL....WOW...get over it folks....

Yep. As a matter of fact Minnesota fans are ripping sad arse Christian Ponder right now. Thank goodness Adrian Peterson and the defense is winning those games for them. The kid in Jacksonville ain't as good as TJack either. Nor the KC qbs or the Cardinal Qbs.
 
Yall gotta realize some of these JSU posters say Robert Mathis is sorry. Some even said he wouldn't make it in the league. Its what they do best, hate.

Victim of Politics in football!! I remember one guy who told me (who has a Superbowl ring while playing for the Cowboys) -"Players from the small schools have to be twice as good the players coming from the big schools."

The way i feel about Ponder is the same way, i felt for t.Jack his 2nd year in the league. Give him some time. t.Jack has his time and opportunity to prove his worth."HE DIDNT DO IT" The organization moved on.

TJack is not a West Coast Qb. Childress should have never drafted him in the first place. He would have been better off somewhere else to learn the ropes from a better coaching staff and a veteran QB not named Favre. Ponder was definitely a worse draft pick because the Vikings panicked when the other Qbs went. If they had the good sense, they would have traded that pick down and got some more picks and went after Andy Dalton later in the draft before Cincy could get him. Heck there were other Qbs better than Ponder. Ponder spent all them years at FSU trying to prove he was really good but wasn't. Good athlete but not 1st round Qb material. He gone get Frazier fired. What they should do is fire the GM.

That is true. You have set it off when you from a smaller school. Some coaches don't care where you from though.

I agree with you on Childress should of never drafted Jackson. childress is a stubborn terrible coach. The Vikings did try to trade down but there wasnt no team willing to trade with them. I aint with ponder or against ponder but Vikings had to take a QB at the 12 spot. From the looks of it. I wish we had took Andy dalton.With the draft Rick Speilman just had and the 8-6 record fot Frazier. Both will be around at least for another year.

Would not shock me if the Vikings bring in Alex Smith to push Ponder. He would fit in with the Vikings offense. Run oriented and he would not have to win games so to speak. Of course Vick will be available. But that would be a train wreck I believe. The Vikes if they could not move that pick still should have passed on Ponder. Get the best rated player at that point. Dalton was not worth that high of pick either. He is doing nicely in Cincy. But I am not ready to anoint him being a franchise QB. But to get him in the second round is a steal. I agree that the 8-6 record will keep folks from losing their jobs this year. Frazier especially. But I have not been that impressed with Rick S. He gets a C rating.

I agree. I would have liked to see him in a vertical offense.

Well, if he struggled in a West Coast Offense, he wouldn't have trouble with a vertical offense. Defenses aren't allowing offenses to beat them down the field. A lot of team are playing a lot more Cover 2, Cover 1 and forcing QBs to beat them going 5 to 10 yards at a time. As great as the Patriots offense is, they don't have a vertical passing game. Every thing is short to intermediate routes using spread concepts.

I was listening to former NFL safety Matt Bowen talk about Pete Carroll's style as it relates to the depth chart. Bowen said in mini camp and Training Camp, jobs are not secure. He said Carroll doesn't care how long you've been in the league, your reputation, nothing. If you aren't performing in practice or games, you aren't guaranteed a job.

Jackson started 15 games last year and is the third string QB. Matt Flynn signed for $50 million and he's on the pine. Russell Wilson, who wasn't expected to start, is starting.

Bowen also mentioned how Jim Harbaugh has the same approach when it comes to that as well. That's probably why Kaepernick is in under center instead of Smith.
