Bethune Cookman: Will they make a run

You said all of that to say nothing.

You said HBCU's can't beat mediocre PWC's and I just showed you two examples...BTW, NSU finished right above Savannah State near the bottom of the MEAC, but beat the 2nd place Big South team(which, by your logic should've destroyed NSU...you know...with them being a PWC and all)...a team with more resources, money and better coaching as some put it.

Take it how you want

And I blew holes through your elementary theory by stating the obvious: your conference members BEAT a 1-10 squad and a mediocre 6-5 squad. :emlaugh: Tell us, what is so positive about a victory that should've occurred and should be expected? It's obvious that GaSt is horrible and it's obvious that Liberty is a step above horrible. And while you're at it, connect those GaSt and Liberty victory dots to why your conference champion got its ass handed to it for the what... 14th consecutive year? Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :retard:

Also, what I said earlier is that "hbcu" ball CANNOT compete vs PWCU ball, and no, it CANNOT or is BCU readying itself for Old Dominion  ? Maybe I should've prefaced my words w/ "above avg," eh? :retard:

North Dakota State would run up IN and THROUGH A-N-Y "hbcu," and obviously so would CCU. :emlaugh: Care to refute? Ni$$a please.... :smh:

They dont get it and SUJag wants to compare BCU's offense to NE which is laughable

:smh:

You just have to attribute it to mazza keeping some out in the fields too long and they didn't know they had a brain that was functional that would actually outperform their hearts desires. lol :emlaugh: All this "negro wishful" thinking is sickening. :vomit:

Your MEAC champion lost, <b>again</b>. Lets hear that annual rant of excuses one more time. ###handlethat

But the guys on the MEAC website do not have enough pride to accept that we do not have what it takes to beat the good PWC's.

They're just as blindly stupid, obviously.

Look @ Notre Dame. Look @ your FCS squad. If you say they're similar, you're stupid and dumb as fvck. I have zero patience for dumb ass people. Never lived around them, certainly never worked around them, and unfortunately, I went to school w/ quite a few post HS. lol

North Dakota State would run through ANY FCS team...that's why they are the defending champs

Besides your argument was built on the basis that HBCU's are incapable of beating any PWC...which went right out the window with the examples I listed.

And if HBCU ball is so bad, then what are you doing to prepare your program to better itself...or are you content with sitting back and accepting "reality" and hoping you land in the SWAC title game while bytching about being too sorry to compete/try to compete with the rest of the FCS world(heck, the D2 world for some programs)?

Nothing... he ain't doing anything for PV and will tell you so while trying to (insert childish insults and trying to display his superior intellect amongst us HBCU pee ons with long rambling rants which amount to nothing)

My dear children, as someone said “HBCU Sportsâ€￾ is dead, but they don’t realize it. The main problem is poor management and decision making from the top to the bottom. I am not understanding the mentality of HBCU’s, afraid of anything white; President, AD, Coaches and administrators. The cry is “Let’s keep it blackâ€￾ to hell with all of that, hire the best AD, Coaches regardless of their coach.
There are some think, because the player was decent in the pros, therefore, he will make a good HC. that absolutely insane. The other problem is hiring those daymn re-cycled coaches, leave dem fools alone.

Seriously, why would a college hire, Bell; Stump; Bill Thomas; James Reese, Webster and others.

Why are HBCU’s afraid of hiring white coaches.

HBCU Coaches cannot sell their programs, they need classes in salesmanship and marketing.

WE don't have the will-power to get off our azzes and do what it takes to get the right tools to beat them. All we got is excuses.

Moving on.

the funny part is that PWIs are not afraid to recruit black talent, hire black coaches, etc (not sure i've seen a black President or AD yet). if they can win, they'll take it. but if an HBCU recruit a non-black talent, hire a non-black coach or even look at a non-black President/AD, they are demoralizing the institution and heritage.

MAN, they're even afraid to hire a black coach from a PWI at times! Yea they were an assistant there for a WINNING FCS playoff or FBS program. but now they are look at an HBCU opportunity as a promotion to advance they're skills and creativity at maybe an assistant or coordinator. i'm not saying accept everyone, but get everyone an equal review. they know it's not big money, so why are we still using that excuse to keep from considering?

Whih HBCU is afraid of recruiting non-black talent? I haven't seen an all black HBCU team in years.

i'm saying in general.
the easy normal is that the kicker(s) is non-black. people look at some schools crooked eye when they got a white QB leading. (the tag naming is unnecessary) but yea, there is minute change and true develop might be seen in about 5 years.

When that QB is shredding their school's defense, they shut up. The highest profile HBCU schools have had white QBs. SU, Grambling, JSU and FAMU have all had white starting QBs.

Where were you, P88, when SCSU beat Georgia State(a PWC) and NSU beat Liberty(who finished 5-1 in the Big South) this year?

It's not an HBCU vs. PWC thing...really BCU turned the ball over twice in the 2nd quarter which CCU turned into 10 points. BCU also missed on two touchdown passes in the 1st quarter. It wasn't a case of bad coaching yesterday(as it typically is), it was more so a case of missed opportunities. BCU really could've beaten CCU, but just didn't get it done.

Georgia State won ONE game this year lol. And Liberty is basically the only valid example you have for the past 15 years. That's not really helping your case.

Another lie. We have white guys on our offensive line. We have had them even in the late 80's.

When the SWAC presidents and the doo-boy commissioner decides to end this Playoff Segregation then u will start to see a difference in play on the field...When HBCUs start hiring AD's with a vision and plan of action u will see a difference in HBCU Athletics Depts. When HBCU presidents start expecting more from its Students and Alumni then all of ours schools will grow....

But right now HBCU Athletics is like watching 9th grade high school sports....

I talked to my frat bro who is Vandy star wide receiver (whos pops went to JSU) I told him last week u should be doing that for JSU he said they never even looked his way...I was like wtf this dude was a 4 star guy who more than likely be 1st round pick up next year and his pop played at JSU :smh:...

The scary part is TN State had a white QB that was a notch above the black QB, under Webster. But, Webster, continued to makeup excuses on why he would not start, one year was because he did not know the plays, the next year he could not read the defense, the excuses came year after year.

When Reed, became the HC, he transferred to UTK. I bet if Reed was the HC instead of Webster, he would have started. Webster, was afraid of the alumni and what people would say about him.

TN State has had an opportunity to hire some exceptional assistant coaches, here is an example
After Cooper left TSU for Miami-Ohio, the following assistant coaches applied:

Terry Johnson, Butler
Scott Monarh, Marquett; Joe Esposito, Minnesota, both are former TSU Assistant Coaches, not saying they were “great”
Pete Foredden, David Lipscomb
Jan van Breda Kolff, shows some interest
Orlando Smith, Loyola, I am sure Tubby would send some recruits his way
Corey Williams, Florida State
Walter McCarity, Michigan State

So to save a few dollars, the administration decided to appoint Travis Williams as the HC., Travis, has a decent resume.

This is funny,,

So we still have this "Mythical Black National Championship" not recognized by anyone except the NCAA by default and the HBCU that wins the Mythical Championship.

Then you have the, what I call ther road to no-where championship, typically known as the SWAC Championship. At the same time the SWAC Officals, are thinking they are doing a service to the instutions. You have the two schools with the bands and dancing gals, battling on the gridiorn, for a $22.99 trophy, at the same time the sponsors and SWAC officals are lining their pockets.

At the beginning of the 2013 season, here come the topics about playing the PWI's and how we can beat them. I say the alumni need to demand their schools, leave the SWAC and join another conference. I say JSU or PB need to join the OVC.

What are those guys doing now?

Still coaching.

TSU lost to Mammoth 81 - 70, a Charter member of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM), a consortium of leading liberal arts colleges; Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.); Student Population 1300.

The same can be said for the BCS payout. It is believed that teams that don't play in a BCS bowl game come out better than if they did.

Let me go back to 1996, before the BCS bowl games. Texas A&M went a disappointing 6-6 and could have played in the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise. I believe that the payout was $500,000. It would not have help much if at all. They might have lost money on the deal. Anyway, they did not go to a bowl that year.

Dr. Sidney McPhee, a Prairie View A&M grad, is the president of Middle Tennessee State (link). They were a 1-AA school but are now in the FBS.

I was following you until you said JOIN the OVC? That has done exactly WHAT for TnSU? No wins in the playoffs, didn't even get a sniff at 8-3 this year? Fact is, no school, whether HBCU or PWI, is going to have success in the playoffs unless you can bring everyone, from your board, to your fans, to your coach, and to your players, ON BOARD and I don't see that happening in an HBCU for various reasons. TnSU is the ONE that can prove all of this wrong and they haven't done squat!

Like that!

The two year that TN State was in the playoffs we had to travel to App State [I think] and the next time the folks saw fit to make it NC A&T vs TSU, this is called self elimination. That particular year, our QB were hurt.

Have you forgot, TSU is not the FCS selection committee, the committe decided not to invite us, so it is what it is. As someone said, the committee, likes some conferences over others. And there is nothing we can do about that, regardless of the conference.

79,

SU might as well, SU sho ain't done syt in the SWAC. The only reason, you feel comfortable being in the SWAC, you are afraid to come out an play. So you won over a less than average GSU team over the weekend, now you are standing on tope of the henhouse crowing, give me a break.

Don't get me started talking about Southern

Seriously, do you guys ever research anything? In the last 32 years, Southern University has played 40 non HBCU Division I opponents.
