Bethune Cookman: Will they make a run

What was the year JSU played MTSU in Murfreesboro. I was thinking that was a playoff game.

All that maybe true and it's just an opinion and has no bearing on this game...

History has proven over and over again, HBCU's fail to make it out of the first round, unless they are playing another HBCU as in the case of A&T vs TN State. The only exception was FAMU, then I could be wrong.

The prblem is HBCU's are out coached, the players are out of shape and our coaches "panic" when they get behind often change their game plan.

BC players were huffing and puffing at the end of the third against TN State. If they are out of shape the game maybe over mid-way fourth qtr.

You should not generalize. I expect more from you.

Funny is that I saw a article where there Coach is the richest Coach in College Football... just last year he was the CEO of Ameritrade

You are correct. ESPN did a feature on him just last year before he got the CC job. He was an unpaid grad assistant/coach at Nebraska for some years learning under Palini (sc). He wanted to always coach and after he left Ameritade that's exactly what he did.

When you are worth $250 million you can do anything you want

"Out of Shape" that was at the beginning of the season!

JC,

That's not generalizing, but hard cold facts. What do you expect from Dr. H., Is there a lie in my comment. I cannot say, that BC-C is all of this and that.

Like I said, I am pulling for Cookman, but I not blind to the fact, that there is no gurantee they will beat Costal or Costal with defeat Cookman.

Well, Dr H. We will see whether Jenkins is the coach many has made him out to be.

Surely you jest. BCU coach Jenkins is being considered for several jobs and is considered one of the brightest up and coming young coaches.

I'm not discounting Jenkins. But, is this the SAME Jenkins that coached BCU vs UNH where they were TOTALLY manhandled @ home 45-20 during their last soiree in the playoffs some 2 years ago? :emlaugh: Not saying that "history" has anything to do w/ the game coming up, per se', but I do find a very compelling case for "hbcu" ball that doesn't perform well vs mediocre PWCU FCS squads. Would you not agree? lol

CCU will win. I understand your desire and foolish pride though lol. But reality is a muthafugga'.

Also, good luck to you guys vs D2 Skeegee. "hbcu" ball vs "hbcu" ball... nothing like it on planet earth. :emlaugh:

JC

Just asking,I have been searching for articles on Jenkins, where he is being "considered" for several job, just to validate your commet. How can this be a true statement, when the season is not over. Most colleges do not start looking for new coaches, until the season is over. While, searching the net, I have not seen his name mentioned for any of the openings, then I could have missed it.

The only articles I have been able to find are those of him being fined by the MEAC, while he was an assistant at various colleges and his renure with the Bearcats and professional career.

Trust me, I am not dismissing Cookman or Jenkins, ability to coach. But, let's face it those wins against HBCU's are just wins against HBCU's, not CCU.

I am still trying to figure out who said "whether Jenkins is the coach many has made him out to be" who are these folks" In my many year of living and following sports, almost 100% of the comments made about coaches can be dismissed, "comments and opinions are just that, nothing more nothing less.

He lost his 1st (MEAC MVP) and 2nd string QB the week prior to that loss. They limped into the playoffs.

They lost.

The earth wobbled off its roation by .999999999827373 degrees that day. The sun sat 27 seconds sooner than normal. The temperature was 3 degrees cooler. Excuses. Excuses. Excuses. They lost, or did they win? W-L?

Re: BCC - Costal

Most teams are fairly good within their conference, the true test of how good a team is, can they win outside their conference [playing the same level of teams]. This is especially true with HBCU's

24 - 8, CC

I saw Jenkins' first coach's show, and the players were going through brutal conditioning drills on the beach. There are easier things to do in life. Anyway, I did not see the game but wonder if CCU was just better than BCU.

Horrible QB play. They looked like they looked in the 1st half against Bama St. Threw the ball almost every play from the start. Never attempted to run.

In other words, they got blowed out again in the opening round? I reckon so.:smh:

Hate to admit it, but black coaches act like they scared of white coaches. :shame:

That is only because most of them lack the skills to challenge them. HBCUs don't demand much from their coaches during the offseason. Right now HBCU coaches should be looking at ways to give their teams some type of edge over their opponents, but most will spend the offseason relaxing and vacationing. Our ADs should be meeting with them weekly to find out what new programs have they developed to improve their team competitiveness.

Tell that to the Stanford coach. Tell that to the Texas A&M coach. Tell that to the Louisville coach.:smh: It don't pay to generalize. All Black coaches are not the same.

I'll have to agree with you on this one.
