Man how do you have a talented back up qb and never use him? I mean if your starter hasn't moved your offense in 2 qts common sense would tell you to try something different. Not Jones though. Its straight up them middle. Run to the side. Back up the middle and punt. :shame:

We actually didnt have a bad night offensively.... we moved the ball easily.... its just right when we got going it would be a DUMB penalty that would set us back... Ive never seen us with that many personal foul penalties. We had almost 400 yards of offense. In defense of Mason (u KNOW I dont care for him) he didnt have a bad game last night.... but Isabelle is just a MUCH better qb. I dont see how EVERYONE sees it but Jones. Jones just LOVES Mason. Mason can do no wrong... Jones takes up for him in EVERY interview he does. He dogged Kevin Atkins even after Atkins was gettin SWAC offensive player of the week back to back weeks. He ran Atkins away from AAMU then Atkins becamse of the CIAA player of the year at Shaw and led them to a championship.... but with Mason its always someone else fault. Something is MIGHTY fishy with the relationship Jones and Mason has.

What happened with the experiment of the coach's son? A bad offensive night is just that, a bad offensive night. Being able to put up a million yards means nothing if you have no points to show for it. I rather have 50 yards and a crapload of points than have 400 yards and 7 points. A win is a win I guess

Cee you don't often do stupid but to think that Jones was thinking about UAPB in the 4th quarter make Jones appear to be idiotic. A&M has 3 major offensive problems;
1 the offensive guards are garbage especially 77 who pulls and can't even displace air
2 the receivers do not know how to move to qb or open spot after pass plays break down
3 the stubborn attitude your coach has about trying something different
A&M was hyper disappointing Saturday night and may loose to UAPB.

#77 has been All SWAC the past two years... so he isnt garbage.... He led the way for a 1200 yard rusher... so once again he isnt garbage. When the pass play breaks down, Mason is going to run... point blank... He loves to run, he just waits until its almost too late to make a decision to run.
#3... everyone agrees with you...... btw we were the only team in the conference to keep a team out of the endzone right?

DaHill, about Mason and Isabelle, you may want to know what the underlying issue is. Woody wanted to play Rutland in the worst way over Jimmy Oliver even tho Oliver was the better athlete but that was because Rutland was more of a worker. Oliver didn't study film on his own and do the small things that a coach looks for. Rutland did. So it could be that type of situation. Eventually, he did settle on Oliver becasue no matter how bad he wanted to start Rutland, Oliver always came to play when the whistle blew.

Thats not the case in this situation... Jones and Mason are like a married couple... Jones LOVES Mason.... even at basketball games, you would think they were father and son. Mason's nickname on the team is "Jone's boy"... Jones hasnt EVER said ONE negative word about Mason to the press... but he use to dog out Kevin Atkins (who was a much better qb than Mason) week in and week out. Im telling you bruh... its something going on... I would be surprised if its something illegal.

Honestly, I don't know what it is about Alabama A&M. There's something about the Bulldogs that I can't quite put my finger on. I don't know how the AAMU alum feel about Coach Anthony Jones and the Bulldogs, but I do know that he (Jones) can make things work with the talent he has (in no way am I suggesting he has no talent on the team....quite the contrary).
I've been to Louis Crews quite a number of times, and there are games against AAMU that stand out in my mind, especially my first visit to Crews in 2003, when the Bulldogs beat the dog isht (no pun intended) outta us 50-0; I remember 2006, when we won against the Bulldogs in regular season play 23-21 and hearing Kelcy Luke's name all that night, and again hearing it all through the SCG when the Bulldogs stopped every opportunity we thought we had when they whipped us 22-13 (they totally shutdown Martell Mallet and Dedric Poole); I was at Crews again last year when I saw my boys leash the Bulldogs with a lead of 27-7 at halftime, but sat in utter shock as I witness the Dogs turn and attack us and come back to win 28-27!
I do know that since 2003, we've only won 3 games against AAMU; I do know that in 7 of the last 9 games (and in the SCG), the Bulldogs have put up at least 21pts; I do know that when AAMU does go with the run, it's hard for us to stop their run!
Like I said, I don't know how the alum feels about Coach Jones, but I do know this.......he obviously knows how to win against us. And I hope after 9 years, we've figured out a way how to stop him because in my honest opinion, AAMU has become that splinter that's been in our finger(s) for far too long.....
