We are trying to keep another HBCU from being hoodwinked and bamboozled like what happen to a certain HBCU in Mississippi.

It seems like you have already been bamboozled. If you think Lyvonia is remotely a good coach then you have been hoodwinked. This guy yhas been there 3 years and he still hasnt recruited a decent lineman or RB. The guy is pityful.

He actually has recruited some good young OL and DL. RB is another story as we got young unproven backs behind the Srs. Which again aint all on the Head Coach. His assistants are recruiting the positions they coach. No different than Pete assistants did.

Have you heard me praising Stump on the highest? I believe when Bell first got to JSU, y'all were saying he can walk on water. Plus, Stump was hired by LaFleur, who should have never been AD at Southern. I'll give Stump the benefit of the doubt, since he didn't have much to work with when he got to Southern, but this is his last year on his contract. He definfitely would need to prove himself this year.

Anything associated with J-State gets this much space. Just take a look at the band board.

That's because Mr Taylor is back in charge of the band which a lot of your old heads wanted. LOL. He is going to generate a lot of interest this year. Had it been Get Ready being named the band director, I don't think it would be that crucial. LOL.

And most of what's being discussion is former and current Boom members wanting to kill each other over past and present band directors.

I would eliminate all black bands for at least 2 years in honor of Robert Champion. You know, they guy you said DESERVED IT

They definitely should eliminate that band in Jackson, MS, because it sounds like there is going to be another killing that's about happen.

See that's the thing Jag89. GR wants us to put Stump down and call him a loser etc. That's how he it operates. Every Jag knows if Stump don't win enough games this year, they will not renew his contract. Heck there is a faction just waiting on a bad season so we can get rid of him. So it aint like GR thinks. SU aint bamboozled. Some of us die hard Jags just choose to support Coach as he is not trying to tear the program down but build it back.

We got a new AD and the administration that is at SU now didn't hire Stump and like you said LaFleur pulled the trigger on the hire after Get Ready's buddy Tony Clayton tried to slip Doug in as Coach behind Pete's back during that last BC. Had it not been for all that behind the scenes stuff, our old AD wouldn't have been able to pull off the hire with the Board. But in saying that, poor Stump walked into a bad situation all around. Folks who didn't want him as coach and a AD that was not really his friend when it came down to it.

If he is gone at the end of the year, he would have left the program in better shape than he inherited it. Schollies back and APR fixed not to mention some good student athletes. That's why I am hoping he can win and see his hard work pay off. If Pete would have worked as hard in his last 3-5 years as Stump has. He would still be coach.

My bad man, but after reading all your accolades for Bell, it really seems like you know Bell better than he knows himself. For a while there, I've could have sworn P88 and Bell was like the same individual. But from a white boy's point, are you saying you don't agree to something your Ole Buddy Bell once said?

It's just one of those moments when one has to sit back & lol

Uuuum Kent was on crutches during the week before each game.

If he was healthy enough to hop out on the field, they should have hopped him into the shotgun and threw it . He could have did a Leftwich. bell is stubborn. Kent could have been in perfect health and bell would have still ran the ball up the middle.

LOL. You know Bell ruined Kent. Had dude trying to run as a QB. Kent may have had turf toe. But if Bell wouldn't have been so stubborn to run run and run again and just put Kent in the shotgun and let him survey the field with all that talent yall had. Even Stump realized he couldn't run the ball like he had predicted and went back to passing the rock like Pete and Orlando had done the last few years when they couldn't run either.

Kent asked President Mason not to fire Bell. Said he learned more under him than he did three years of Hughes.

26 years old. Wonder what JR and his former Jukebox mates were doing at 26? They don't make em like they used to. Had dude been MAN enough to say FUGG that isht to a bunch of young mofos that he was supposed to been a LEADER of. Tragic yes. But they all were to blame. Him included for even subjecting himself at 26 years old to let some young punks beat him like that. But it is what it is. You make excuses for a GROWN ARSE MAN who should have known better. That's how my old man raised me. Yall must to been raised differently. If anything them old arse mofos shouldn't have been in that band. FAMU had some issues totally different than the rest of the black bands if you ask me. But back to the thread at hand.

He may have Pop33. But it doesn't change the fact that Bell should have utilized Kent's talent for his Sr year and then made the transition to Bell ball with the next QB. That's what most coaches do if they inherit a Sr Qb that is really good. Or they do like Bowden did in Akron. You tell the guy thanks but you don't fit my system and let them transfer.

I am JROCK and approve this message! :emlaugh:

Not yet. And it did looked like Holiman quit on him.

It isn't going to happen BB. And Holiman didn't either. He was just disappointed. How can you quit on a coach who hyped you up when the previous coach didn't hardly use you. If anything Stump got caught up with playing him like he did because the kid was a good student athlete. Holiman had no bigger supporter than his coach. So he had nothing to quit about since he was the coach favorite.
