JSU official: Tyrann Mathieu interested in JSU

That's because his arse knows he can't play this year anyway if he has indeed failed a third drug test. I can see this happening. In all honesty if he has an issue with that stuff. He probably needs to miss football this year to get his mind right. Would not shock me to see him back at LSU if these are the circumstances. But that's a big if.

Looking at the facilities of some of these FCS schools in comparison may have scared him sober. :emlaugh:

now, ye aint lying. Hell at least he came in the era of an updated locker room, weight room and fitness center at JSU. If he would have seen that old weightroom JSU had when I came to visit in 2003, he would have ran away on the spot.

What made you sign with JSU if it was that terrible? Popularville is right by USM.

Stump is not playing with none of you people. You can get the Honey Badger, Cinnamon Monkey, Sugar Cow, Chocolate Moose or any kind of flavored animal and it just will not help you in 2012. I am posting this to let you all know that you don't stand a chance no matter who you beg for. Here me now or believe me later!

Same chatter we heard last year!

The truth is the truth. He saw something special with you all, so that's why he stayed. Hell, we lifted weights in a temp trailer after what happened at the MiniDome.

I wish the kid luck but sitting out a year when u may not have too...I wouldn't do it but like JR said he may have failed 3 drug test and cant play anywhere!

Alrighty then, I knew JSU loved some Honeybadger

Former LSU defensive back Tyrann Mathieu might be interested in staying a Tiger, according to one high-ranking Jackson State official.

David Hoard, Jackson State's vice president of institutional advancement, said Sunday that he received information from "third parties" close to the situation that Mathieu wanted to schedulehttp://content.usatoday.com/communities/campusrivalry/post/2012/08/jackson-state-vp-were-waiting-to-hear-from-mathieu/1#.UCkoDqCuq3M

Southern Miss, whom I verbally committed to didn't offer. Mississippi State asked me to wait a month before signing anywhere and Ole Miss asked me to walk on with an academic scholarship.. The other offers were JUCO's and some smaller schools. SU hit me up late in the game. JSU was my first solid offer. They were building the new weight room by then also. That old weightroom was in a classroom basically. They didnt even have a bench press at that point I believe. It was horrriibbbllle.

The funny part is most LSU Fans on twitter were calling him all type if names and now they will probably want him back!
And if he decides to go on and transfer, those LSU fans will go right on back to talking crap about him. Georgia fans were the same with Crowell. :smh:

I'm just waiting for the day that many of these top notch athletes will get the picture and say screw the big schools and come back home. At some point, I believe this will happen, but our schools need to do a better job of welcoming them back in the fold with better opportunities for growth and tools to get to the next level.

Also who's advising this guy? why sit out when u can BALL out at another school and possibly get drafted...he isnt thinking of getting his degree anyway it all about making it to the league!

Right his people contacted JSU and actually this looks great for us considering the publicity just for having our name mentioned with a guy of his talent we wish him well..

Dayum...how did y'all win?

I think LSU people along with coaches are in his ear and gave him that idea. sit out his Junior year and come back his senior year and play.

Don't you have establish ties somewhere first before thinking about coming back home?

At the end of the day, HBCUs and everyone else gotta step their games up to attract these kids. It's a business as we see the collegiate landscape changing with super conferences, conference realignments all in an effort to grab multimillion-dollars that go along with huge TV contracts and other agreements.

I'm on the student-athletes side here. These kids are and have been getting used for a long a time at all levels of intercollegiate athletics, and it's time it stopped.

It seems like everybody is thinking about the school, the conference, coach and fan best interest than the 18-21 year old who has little to no representation, and doesn't get fairly compensated for his contributions to the university.

Nobody really cares about these student-athletes as people or even students. They only care about them as athletes and what they can do for the school from a financial and marketing standpoint.

Dude gets kicked off the team for allegedly failing a drug test and folks crap themselves over the prospect of that kid transferring to their alma mater. Never mind he obviously has some discipline issue. Never mind it is unclear how he'll adjust to new surroundings. Never mind we don't know what safeguards will be in place to prevent future missteps.

Nobody thinks like that. Folks just envision how great he will make their secondary and how many butts he will put in the seats.
