DGTM,
I played during the Bell error man. Yall should have kicked our arse in 2004 and 2005 to be real but Totten would do dumb isht. In 2004, that ninja held your entire defense on the sideline after the ref had signaled three times that the timeout was over and the ball was live.

He would then line up in a 9-2 or even a 10-1 in the redzone. This ninja did that on the 20. Yall boys had pretty talented squad with Aries Nelson and crew but horrriblle coaching. When James Bell outcoaches you, it is bad.

Valley has come close to beating JSU at least 3 times during their 17 game losing streak to JSU and 2008 was one of those years. Yep, they were in field goal range but Donovan Robinson (a freshman at the time) forced a turnover and saved the game for JSU. The other time was probably one of the **** years when JSU got a TD when Valley's defense was coming on the field..

I think it's safe to surmise that Valley winless ways against JSU are all mental. Thise kids always play us hard during the 1st half. I don't know what's said in the locker room. But when they come out for the 2nd half, they just lay down.....

Depth and scholarships. Valley has 1st half talent, but not enough 2nd half talent. Kinda like how HBCU's have 1st half talent against PWCs, but in the 2nd half, depth and talent seem to wear us down.

Willie Totten was that bad that game? Geez, they name the stadium after him.

Valley defense just coming on to the field? how is that possible

pops already told you. It was a timeout.. both teams went to the sideline.. JSU came back when the timeout was over and lined up... Valley didn't. JSU snapped the ball.. and got a TD. What part confuses you? Totten just made the biggest f up in college football that year.

Yeah man, Valley team was trying to run from the sideline and make a tackle.

Re: Let's revisit the 2008 Jackson State-Mississippi Valley State Game. JSU Homecomin

So the ref cheated for JSU to win?

I am glad dude asked about this game. I have heard about it, but had no idea how JSU cheated valley. Now I know the truth. Thanks for asking dude or the truth would have never come out.

Re: Let's revisit the 2008 Jackson State-Mississippi Valley State Game. JSU Homecomin

Let me get this straight. Both teams went to the sidelines during timeout and JSU came back onto the field after the timeout was over. Valley stays on the sidelines after the timeout is over. JSU scores? What kink of coaching is that by Totten? It's almost like he was giving the game away.

Re: Let's revisit the 2008 Jackson State-Mississippi Valley State Game. JSU Homecomin

Man the ref's were suppose to call a delay of game and give Valley a penalty. They cheated for JSU like they always do!!

Delay of game if they were on offense  It was sad trying to watch 11 men run for the sideline and tackle Kennebrew. Hell, I think Totten ran out there too.

He actually asked about the 2008 game. This game happened in 2004.

Re: Let's revisit the 2008 Jackson State-Mississippi Valley State Game. JSU Homecomin

Guys, Totten had a lot of mis-coaching during his tenure. Ask DGTM about Special Teams and Charlie Spiller.

The ref blew his whistle twice to signal the team to come back and line up on the field. The team was on the field and on sides. They were just standing around the coach until the ref marked the ball ready for play. JSU snapped the ball while Valley tried to get in position. JSU ran about 40 yards to the left for a touchdown while the Valley coaches jumped up and down on the field. They should have called a penalty on the coaches and marked it off on the kickoff.
