Grambling petitions (NCAA) to remove Joe Paterno wins record


Vacating wins means vacating losses too right? Because of JoePa didn't deserve those wins, that mean he also doesn't deserve the losses he had during the time in question.

I only know the ones in my Kappa chapter and they don't care anything about Penn State.. PERIOD! Their love for Penn State begins and ends with thier chapter. They don't even go back up there...that's old and young. This is a white folks issue.

I only have one co-worker at my job who went to Penn State and I have been here 8 years. I have not discussed this issue with him but he loves PSU and goes to every game, etc..... People here are from all over the country like me (JSU-Gatech, the other coworkers went to Minnesota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas, Florida, etc...) and most of the technicians went to Delaware, Del State, Temple, Cheyney, etc.. However, we do work closely with Penn State on projects. I go up there about twice a year.

OK, you have point. :rolleyes: ( I can play dumb too) ... make all of his losses, wins and all of his wins, losses. HE STILL LOSES THE RECORD!

At what point is enough, enough. My biggest gripe is that this is not about those kids. This man said he wants eddie robinson recognized. Thats what irks me. Its time move on and let the courts take over.

Yeah, I agree...it was a stupid and dumb statement. Just like the request to vacate his wins are STUPID. No argument here.

In fact, I used the very word "STUPID" in the private to describe the action that the City of Grambling is taking in requesting that Paterno's wins be vacated. It is STUPID to even ask that the NCAA be involved with this process when the events involving the scandal fall outside the NCAA's jurisdiction. And unfortunately, the NCAA (due to public pressure) will likely cave in and make the STUPID mistake of getting involved in this.

As I said previously in the private forum...at the end of the day the NCAA only needs to concern itself with making sure that its member schools stay within the rules that have been placed for them to follow. If the Penn State scandal involved student athletes that would be a different situation. If the Penn State scandal resulted in Joe Paterno having a competitive advantage on the field against his opponents that too was be a different situation. But neither applies here. The NCAA has ZERO jurisdiction where this case is concern.

And out of all of the issues impacting Grambling right now this is the one that some of you want to fight for?
 
I dont think the Powers at be cares about damm statue...I think they care more about the school and whats going on with that because the law will be enforced on the school for knowing about a crime and not reporting it...Who cares about wins and loses at this point...
 
If y'all wanted Eddie to secure the record y'all should have let him continue coaching. :tup:

This falls in the lap of the secratary of education and attorney general. The ncaa is only a governing body for violations that led to winning and losing. Trust me when penn state gets through writing that 1 billion dollars worth the checks then I will rest easy.

Cool, I know several white people that went to PSU, but I haven't discussed this matter with them. They are diehard fans.

Is anyone talking about Paterno being the all-time wins leader now?....Oh, just self serving Grambling folks and Tigerpride.

He will forever be connected with Jerry Sandusky, child rape and cover up. What the hell do you mean we might hear a snippet 100 years from now, considering this whole saga is the REASON he was fired from Penn State and his reputation marred?

O.J. Simpson is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Is that the first thing folk think about when his name is mentioned?
