The Grambling city attorney, in concert with Mayor Edward Jones, has sent a letter to the NCAA asking the college athletics governing body to vacate some of Penn State coach Joe Paterno's wins in order to restore the Division I football victories record to Grambling State's Eddie Robinson.

Pamela Breedlove of Bossier City sent a three page letter to the NCAA on Wednesday, explaining the city's position regarding Robinson, who won 408 games in his 57-year career at Grambling State.

This is BS and a waste of time. What happened at penn state had nothing to do with wins and losses. So I dont think the ncaa has a place in the punishment of peen state. This falls in the lap of the secratary of education and attorney general. The ncaa is only a governing body for violations that led to winning and losing. This was a crimnal matter of the highest order. Everybody wants to climb the moral ladder and get they pound of flesh. The civil lawsuits are coming. Trust me when penn state gets through writing that 1 billion dollars worth the checks then I will rest easy.

I hope they are not opening up one of these:

Say it again!

Thanks.

I am glad this was done by the city and not by GSU.

Please, GSU, stay as far away from this as possible.

Hmmm this is interesting. Where are the folks who felt that Eddie Robinson's record should be restored? Now that someone has taken the initiative to do so...there are crickets and so many speaking against it...interesting.

I support Mayor Jones because if these allegations would have come out 5 years ago...would Joe Pa have broken Coach Rob's record?

I personally don't believe that Penn St. thought the fallout would go this far....Sandusky=scapegoat....but the rest will fall as well.

They really look ignorant making that request.

I'm glad somebody else see's through this nonsense. All this whining about wins and losses is ignorance being shown at it's best.

Do these gus have anything better to do such as help with the local economy instead of trying to gain attention this way.

I see you were in the same class with them at Grambling...I mean Really...is this the best you black folks got a "What IF" defense!

In the way that Paterno handled the Sandusky phenomena you would think they would have already done that but they were probably "tied down" with the investigation and/or other elements that they haven't had time to get to it. Paterno should have known better and the FACT that he wanted total control over what elements are released to the public when players and maybe coaches further makes his actions SEEM VERY SUSPECT which should make the NCAA vacate a lot of his wins starting around 1999 IMO!

I have to disagree because of the fact that his coach was performing illegal acts and then hiding those events while coaching/ influencing players for God only knows what and to have their head coach know something about it and have it investigated one time and leave it alone says a lot of mismanagement and could or maybe it did influence those players in the wrong direction!

This is a very poor move by the CITY OF GRAMBLING. With all due respect to Coach Robinson, we must remember that we all have something in our past that we are not proud of. This situation is about the VICTIMS not the VICTORIES.

This is not sensible and a waste of money and time. Penn State has not violated any NCAA rules, so how can you justify the NCAA taking those victories away. What Sandusky did is wrong and he has been sentenced for his criminal behavior.

If I were a victim or the parent of a victim. I would be insulted for the ncaa to punish penn states football program. I want a state or federal bhody to drop the hammer on the institution as a whole. This was a cover up and coruption at the highest level.
