Artur Davis, former prominent Obama backer, leaves Democratic Party


Artur Davis, one of President Obama’s earliest supporters and a former co-chairman for his presidential campaign, announced Tuesday that he was leaving the Democratic Party for good.

In a post published Tuesday on his website, Davis was vague about his future political endeavors, but declared: “If I were to run, it would be as a Republican. And I am in the process of changing my voter registration from Alabama to Virginia, a development which likely does represent a closing of one chapter and perhaps the opening of another.”

I was about to ask.. where u been lol... He moved to Va and became a Republican.
 
Ask Toi. She was a backer when he ran for governor of Alabama. His own congressional district voted against him when he ran. He basically was ran out of the state and landed in VA. Artur is a very smart individual. What a waste.
 
With that accent and haircut I can see why Blacks would not vote for him. He may be smart but he is too old to be a Black nerd and expect to win a statewide elected office.
 
Davis is now going to be a speaker at the repub national convention. I wonder if Toi is still in his corner. :wavey:
 
From what I could see, he turned his back on the Black voters in Alabama, and they turned their backs on him in return. He reaped what he sowed.
