CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Michael Jordan said there's no way Kobe Bryant and this year's USA Olympic basketball team could've beaten the 1992 Dream Team.

Jordan told The Associated Press Thursday that he laughed -- "I absolutely laughed" -- when hearing Bryant's comments that the U.S. squad training in Las Vegas could take Jordan and company.

"I heard Kobe say we were not athletic," said a smiling Jordan as he sat in a golf cart puffing on his cigar while waiting to tee off. "But we were smart. He said we were too old, but I was 29 and in the prime of my career. Pip (Scottie Pippen) was 26 or 27, (Charles) Barkley was 29, Patrick (Ewing) was 29 and Chris Mullin was 29. Almost everybody was still in their 20s."

I wish folks would go sit down and stop trying to compare Michael Jordan to Kobe Bryant. Including Kobe. :shame:

The Dream Team in their prime would kill these guys. Hell this team aint even at full strength. Who would check Ewing and David Robinson? Tyson Chandler is the only true center on the team. Hell the Dream Team could actually allow sad arse Christain Laettner play against this team. ~snicker~

I agree. In addition they would absolutely have no answer for 6'9 Magic at the point. They would need double team help every time Magic penetrated. And we all know how artful some of those dishes would look when the double team came. :lol: :emlaugh: (I would have put Shaq on that team instead of Laettner.......I think we know why Laettner was added though)

Lebron would become rattled with the Dream team match up and depth.....He would deal with match ups against Pippin, when he would try to get physical and push his way in he certainly wouldn't move Karl Malone and then he would have to deal with Barkley assuming you're going to play him at one of the forwards. You don't want him at the 2. Then you would have MJ checking him. He would really look bad then.......
 



Nobody stops LeBron on that team. Nobody. Besides, who stays in front of Westbrook, Deron Williams, Derrick Rose (if he were playing) or Chris Paul?

Additonally, the teams that the Dream Team played against in the Olympics both feared and revered them. The 2K12 wouldn't have such sentiments.

Don't tell GR that. LOL. I have said that as long as I have been on this board. MJ will always be considered the GOAT by the masses of fans and media worldwide until somebody even more dynamic on and off the court than Kobe or MJ combined comes along. Just like you can't tell some old heads that Jim Brown aint the greatest RB of all time. Even though I think Payton is. Hell even Barry Sanders Daddy said that to his own son that Brown was still better than all of them. LOL.

The simple matter of it is. That Dream team will be revered as the greatest collection of basketball players of all time. Too many HOF players on there. Too many NBA MVPs and rings were on that team.

Lebron I can see. Durant who is my favorite current NBA player would not be all that difficult for the dream team. Plenty of help for him. He don't have the same physical presence like Lebron to go inside when his 3's aint falling.

He is the only one that can't be defended anywhere on the floor. Inside or outside. The rest can be. My question to yall. Who is going to guard Jordan, Pippen, Malone, Clyde? Who will stop Ewing and The Admiral in the paint with this team? Will Lebron have to play Center? Do you think Blake Griffin can stop someone? They have to matchup as well.
