What are the chances that SU vs. JSU becomes the "new" Capital City Classic?

AMEN!!!!!!

Referring to JR's post earlier...We cannot and hopefully will not ever take money out of our own vendors and more importantly our own community's pockets again....Now that GR would not be good business.

On the topic of the SU vs JSU football game (Da BoomBox Classic).....

I am all for our administrations going out and finding that TV package and sponsorship for that game....But with the right payouts and control for both our Universities....Not a deal where you get X amount of dollars and then get pimped in return....Not a deal where our schools are prostituted....For instance a F-ed up deal where each school gets 300 or 400k but in turn someone else tell you when you can play the game and where you will play the game....we should be able to market the product and our brand, but with certain control as to how it is marketed...if those terms can't be reached in that manor, then we can still continue to operate as we have been in the past when it comes to that game....it has been doing fine all these years, and depending on US it will continue to thrive.

Right. Nothing is wrong with having a sponsorship. JSU seems to have some business-minded people in "some" places on campus right now so we will see if they move in that direction.

As for this thread, the SU-JSU game is officially the 2012 W.C. Gordon Classic. The W.C Gordon Classic is always the first JSU home game regardless of the opponent. Past opponents have included Stilman, Concordia, Delta State, Grambling and now Southern.

Pop needs to stay suited up he is trying to avenge the **** years.

Yes, JSU players want to beat the crap outta SU but SU takes their spinach before they play JSU. After the JSU game, they deflate.

As for JSU-SU, we both know that's a game both teams want to win. I have personally vowed never to miss another JSU-SU game if I can help it. But when you come in every year as the underdog, it's much easier to get pumped up. The problem JSU makes is that we come out and hit SU in the mouth. We let ya'll hang in there for a quarter or two before we decide to dominate.

What?.....So coming from behind on the last drive of the game is dominating?....wow!

Guess we do learn something new every day

they call beating us 2 years in a row dominating. within those two years they had to come back from behind both years!!! if it wasn't for a desperate heave in the last 18 seconds in 10' they would only have a one game winning streak. smh

Exactly.

And try to act like they weren't worried and knew they were going to win.

I can get with that...ain't nothing wrong with OUR traditions...and if that is what you all call Your first home game, then I am honored to be a part of the W.C. Gordon Classic...He was a great coach! Much respect!

I think those country arse white boots you J-Staters are wearing are too damn tight and have messed up your blood circulation. This here is no where close to being factually correct. :smh:

We don't need isht. If the State of Ms up and said they were broke and no longer could support the stadium like they are. You will be on your own just like any other state HBCU. Don't think that is never possible. You can't trust politicians. No matter what the promises are. As for SU, You may not like it. But it isn't like Mumford is falling down TP and we don't have to worry about trying to build a new one if the state goes back on their word. If the Sip had Jindal for a Governor. Yall would be in trouble. You better keep an eye on the new Gov. I hear he aint no damn good.

With Jindal as their Governor, their budget would be cut in half.

Its obvious that yalls minds don't work in the same realm of business and forethought that mine does. Most of you have no clue what to think until SomebodyWhite tells you what to think. And then you regurgitate what they told you to say.

To JR and the rest if the SU folks, FVCK the vendors. If you have something to sell bring it to Jackson and sell it to 60k fans or stay in BR and sell it to 20k. The business community didn't step up for SU before or after you moved the game in 09. You talk all that mess about Clayton but he did what was right and stuck to his guns. He pointed to the checkbook and told all of y'all to shut up. You have leverage against the business community and your own fans, exercise it.

If y'all ever get a good team or decent talent the attendance will even be bigger than 50k. Right now your fans are apathetic to the program and rightfully so. There is nothing to be excited about as long as LyvoniaMitchell is the coach but you can still take advantage of your over zealous fans who expect SU to be good every year.

One more thing. Quit comparing yourself to OleMiss or any other SEC school. Under no circumstances is your situation similar to theirs. But since that's what you like to do lets look at what LSU did last year. LSU could have told Jerry Jones and Oregon "we have a 90k seat stadium and vendors and a business community to take care of." That's what they would have said if they thought like y'all.

But they didn't, they actually have sense and they aren't drinking the same poisonous water you other folks in BR are drinking.

LSU took a game to Dallas where they could play on a bigger stage and they even played on tv. How bout that.

And the nerve of some of you. Let me explain something to you. The SWAC us the lowest form of college football on the planet. If TruTv says they want to broadcast one if our games live at 9am then our players need to be warming up at 8. For some reason y'all think we are more than we are. Nobody likes BCF but us....trust me on this. I wouldn't watch that crap if my school weren't involved in it

Cowboys stadium was a neutral site for Oregon and LSU. Memorial Stadium is supposedly jSU home stadium. If you can find a neutral site, such as Independence Stadium in Shreveport or the Superdome, we would be willing to play every SU-jSU game there for the next 50 years. Good business minds think alike.

jsu fans didn't travel well to the Superdome. All of that whining they did about The Ace and when we gave them an opportunity to play in The Dome (the finest college football venue in the country) those busters did not show up.

Preach Brother!!!!!!!!!!!! I got roasted on here when i made that thread about BCF is boring and hard to watch.

While the game doesn't need any gimmicks, bells or whistles, tv revenue and any other additional revenue would be welcomed.

If there is an opportunity bring in more money from the game, I don't believe either school or the conference is in a position to turn that down.

I agree...of ALL the BCF games on TV the JSU/SU game should definitely be on TV, especially when it's in Jackson. No disrespect to Mumford but seeing that big ass Memorial stadium full, especially when JSU is wearing white and SU with it's gold shirts on is a pretty sight. It's loud and packed...which is what BCF need to show on TV. IF the MCC isn't on TV, that's another game that should be on TV.

Domes football sucks for BCF. I don't BCF when its' played in the Superdome, Indy, Atl, or Detroit.

Then lets take it to Shreveport, LA. A 50 year contract in Shreveport, LA would be nice.

Also, when have you known jSU fans to travel well anywhere???? All they know is Mississippi Confederate Memorial Stadium.

Let the whining begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have beat ya'll 6 out of the last 7 years. You beat us during the **** years but lost to us the 3 years prior. **** allowed your record vs us in the last 10 years to be respectable.

Why you listening to JROCK... in 2000, JSU fans represented. In 2002, we beat em so bad, that only JSU fans were left at the buzzer. In 2004, it was a **** year and by then JSU and SU sucked.. made no sense to move the games.

So you would like to see SU-jSU in the dome every year?
