actually, I'm not a Joe Johnson hater. The Hawks simply tried to make Joe somebody he's not, a #1 option. Joe aint Batman. He's Robin. Glad his contract his gone.

as for Marvin Williams, that was one of the worst picks ever. Glad to see him gone.

now, the Hawks got money to make major moves.

Man with all those jumpy jumps...one would think that you are having an orgasm. lol

pbla,
As a former Hawk, I can say its been a long time coming. Over the years, the Hawks have made some dumb moves, signings, draft picks.
Danny Ferry just became gm last week. And he has pulled this off. The Hawks weren't going anywhere with the lineup they had.
Next season will probably be a wash, but with Joe's huge contract off the books, we'll have a helluva lot of money to throw around.

Danny Ferry cleaning house. I agree Joe Johnson was a second option. Marvin Williams got the big head at UNC when he didn't even start the year they won the National Title as a true Freshman. I always thought he should have stayed an extra year. Ain't mad at him for getting that money. But he was not worth or ready to be a lottery pick. They had another dude do the same thing a few years later with Golden State after winning a title. Dude aint been heard from since.

Bad thing for your Hawks is that they are not a sexy destination for NBA stars. Sounds like yall might move Josh Smith maybe for Pau Gasol by some reports. You might have to come out of retirement MH and suit up. You and Dominique. LOL.

Josh gonna stay. And Dwight will come home.

So are the Hawks going to keep Horford? It would kind of suck for him to be stuck with a team that is going to be sorry for a few years.

I think the Hawks might dangle Horford to the Magic as part of a deal to get Howard.

and even if that deal doesn't come about, I don't expect the Hawks to be "sorry for a few years". They got the $$$ to lure some players.

As someone said before, Joe Johnson is not a max contract, #1 player. He's a good #2 who can score and shoot. Marvin Williams is overrated. They got a lot of the same type of players over the past few years so I'm glad they are moving them out. ATL has been a good regular season team who never made it past the 2nd round because they didn't have an identity.

And don't underestimate ATL as an attractive destination for free agents. It's better than Orlando.

No state taxes in Florida that make either team there attractive. The hawks have got to be able to sell ATL as the southern black mecca. Hawks haven't fared well in getting major free agent talent in the past. Jamal Crawford was about the best they've done.

Mighty Hornet....who are you really? didn't know you balled. played at bama state?

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Not so fast.
That billianare Russian ain't playing. He going all out building the Nets. Dwight Howard is asking to be traded to the Nets. WHERE ARE THE FREAKING LAKERS IN ALL THIS TRADING GOING ON. :smh:

Dwight Howard trade talks between Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic back on

It's the dream Dwight Howard and the Nets won't let die.

The Nets and Magic have re-engaged in trade talk for the disgruntled center after failed attempts to coerce new GM Rob Hennigan, according to ESPN. In the latest reincarnation, Brooklyn would give up Brook Lopez, MarShon Brooks, Kris Humphries and three first round draft picks for Howard and Hedo Turkoglu. The picks would be in 2013, 2015 and 2017.

Still, as has always been the case, the Magic are resisting the Nets' minimal assets, and are more inclined to wait it out and weigh other offers, according to several reports.

Danny Ferry Executive of the Year for 2012-2013 already.

We get Al and Teauge for D-12 we will be good with Josh Devin and Howard........... The Joe dribbling for 18 seconds and shots are gone

They were in talks with the Lakers for the past 2 days, but the Nets offered everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink. 2 decent big men plus ayoung cat who can score AND 3 1st rounders?

We need to make some SERIOUS moves this off season. If getting swept 2 years ago and getting clocked 4-1 this year don't wake up LAKER mgnt., then it's gonna be a looooooooooong year for us. :smh:
