Heaven, 7 Year old girl, gunned down in front of home on Chicago's West Side

I know. That is why the death rate is up.

Even when Illinois had the death penalty there were years where homicides were in the 600-700 range. Studies have shown that states with the death penalty don't see much change in violent crimes.

You say that all the time, yet no one, and I mean no one beside Chicago has 40 killing in a weekend. This is why Chicago will never change. You folks up there don't want change. The Chicago folks who want better, leave Chicago for change. Sad, but true. Those guys face no opposition. It amazes me that folks from the low end actually believe the police force is scared of them and can't do anything to stop crime, when reality is they don't care about those people to do anything. Them you punks can be stopped, but no one in the hood wants them stopped. Man please, if 40 people got shot and killed in towns like Huntsville, they would shut down every thug operation coming in town. Guess why, we would want them too.

All of this you typed has nothing to do with your incorrect statement about killings and the dealth penalty.

Like, SS said your statement has nothing to do with the death penalty in correlation to the murder rate. Louisiana has the death penalty and according to an 2010 FBI report, the murder rate in New Orleans was 10 times the national average.

While that might be true, Chicago has more killings in one weekend then Louisiana has in 6 months. Excuses from yall are usual. Just admit it, people in Chicago uses excuses for the way of life.

We've had this whole death penalty conversation already. Like a few months ago.

What it boils down to is this. If states that have the death penalty, actually used the death penalty, instead of just having it on the books, then things would change!

If you got 100 mofo's on death row, and there is no reasonable doubt that they should be there, then fry them, inject them, or whatever then people would be afraid of being on death row. And YES I AM ALL FOR THE CAPITOL PUNISHMENT (as I stated the last time this convo was held).

We can also take this conversation a different route. Let the citizens arm themselves. Once these wanna be's start loosing their lives then they'll start thinking twice about what they're doing.

Another direction, hold the parents responsible, financially or otherwise, then maybe the parents will be harder on the kids and making sure they don''t do down the wrong paths.

So facts are now considered excuses around here?

I agree with the idea that citizens should be allowed to carry guns. The data shows that such a measure makes a difference.

Yes because you can not show me one other city in America where at least two or three times a year, over 40-50 get shot in 48-72 hours besides Chicago.

It doesn't matter. Even with all the shootings, Chicago's murder rate is significantly lower than than it was 15 years ago.

Excuses. It is lower because the drug era was back then. Now it is still high and yall make excuses. No way to live, but aye if yall love it that is fine.

Who said anything about loving the current state of affairs? Nobody, at least not the people I know and have talked to about this, is cool with the idea of innocent people being shot in the streets.

The common denominator in the majority of homicides and shootings whether it be Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, Flint, or New Orleans lies in the fact they occur in areas with high poverty and unemployment rates.

Until that is address, along with the infiltration of illegal guns and drugs into these communities, folks are going to continue to die.
