There are no promises Tarvaris Jackson will still be the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback in 2012, but he appears to be in surprisingly good position to retain the gig.

ESPN's John Clayton reported Sunday that Jackson will work with the first team when training camp begins next month.

As Pete Carroll told Around The League last week, the signing of Matt Flynn to a $19.5 million contract in the offseason didn't guarantee anything to the former Aaron Rodgers understudy. Or, as Carroll colorfully put it, "On the field, he ain't carrying around any money in his pocket."

.....

They will play anybody but that dude. He has been a walking disaster
I give him credit for hanging around and saying the right things...well TRYING to say the right things

It's early, very early.

Flynn has played in this offense during his entire career. The head coach in Miami was last season in Green Bay, Flynn's old team. I wondered why Miami did not go after him.

While I did not hear or read it, this looked like Flynn's position to win on the surface. They did not bring him there to sit on the bench from what I can see. If he does loses out on the starting job (without injury for a reason), many will wonder about him.

I really should be :smh:, but I cant help but to LOL @ Beans and GR being the first two people to respond to this thread.

Its a good thing Darnell Kennedy didn't go to the NFL . . . you guys would be in therapy right now.

By play you mean both those games he started? or you talking about all the practice reps he watched the starter take? he got the chance to study the system, but he never played. T-Jack is better than some of yall want to give him credit for. Got some work to do but Pete Carroll wants to win some games this year and he'll go with whoever he thinks can help him do that.

I am talking about both. He has been exposed to this offense his entire career, whether in practice or the games. He should know it well.

Yet, my big point is that Miami's new head coach came from Green Bay. Mike Sherman, the former Texas A&M head coach, was also the head coach in Green Bay when Farve was the quarterback, and they ran the west coast offense (same offense in Seattle). I am wondering why Miami did not go after him harder if they did at all.

I have said in the past that I think that Jackson is better off in a vertical passing game, but that is just my opinion.

Man, you know they hate black people!

Yea but old TJ has been seeing action for 7 years now. So the haters can Monday morning QB all they want while the 2004 Eastern Division and SWAC Champion laughs all the way to the bank! :emlaugh:

I guess if I get on here and say TJack got a raw deal and that the coaches should open up the playbook for him and he is doing a great job that would reinforce the good feeling sports board. I'm sorry bruh, I can't tell a lie. TJack has been the running joke of the NFL easily known as the worst qb in the league. If you listen to him talk you can see he ain't sharpest knife in the drawer. Its a wonder the coach in Minnesota didn't fired earlier.

But since we can only heap praise on all schools but one...TJack is the greatest qb of all time and he will undoubtedly be given another chance to fail over 2 new qbs that were brought in to replace him and give Seattle a chance. I thought he was the best qb in the SWAC at the time, but its obvious that he Canadian bait. I'm surprised Seattle allows him to do interviews.

True, he is still bringing home millions. It's a win-win for him..

Some of the guys on this board really needs help! I will root for any QB from the SWAC to make the most out of opportunities! If you can not root for your own, then......!!

I am a Viking fan and i have rooted for Tjack and held up for him. I cant do it anymore. He is not a Good NFL QB. Does he has all the tools? yes he does. He just dont have the mental aspect of the game down. He has trouble reading defenses. He dont handle the Blitz well. He was given plenty of opportunity in Minnesota. I cant believe we traded up in the 2nd rd to draft this guy.

Seattle gave him a 2 year 8 million dollar salary. Call me crazy but I believe that this NFL franchise has more expertise about TJ's "mental aspect and reading defenses" ability than you do. :emlaugh:

Same people hate on this man EVERY time a thread is started about T Jack... you would think after 7 years of so called sucking that he would have been out of the league by now instead of possibly starting the 2012.

Seems like a lot of people in the NFL don't know what they are looking at if he sucked as bad as these people say he is...

1st its just good to be talking about our conference players in not LSU and Alabama players.. 2nd Pete Carroll knows talent, He also knows that Black QBs aint that popular in the NFL anymore, especially from the SWAC.

He aint no Tom Brady, but come on yall.. hes better the kolb, all the QBs Indy had backing manning up, he's better then Vince young, matt cassel and that sorry QB that the Raiders picked up with the last name palmer, oh he is also better then Minnesota QB and the dolphns QB..

but the truth is he will be another jason Campbell

Dude, Carson Palmer is much better than him, especially pre-knee injury. And Christian Ponder in Minnesota is going to be good too.

What has Palmer did post knee injury????? ill answer NOTHING, their for as of 6/26/12 TJACk is better and as of 6/26/12 Tjack is better then ponder also.. Like it or Not its the truth

If you read what he types you can see he ain't sharpest knife in the drawer.

The thing about some (not all) of the Jsu posters is they have a bitter divorced wife syndrome. When they were wallowing in the smudged monstrous demoralizing leadership of James Bell, TJ was a symbol that all was well in the SWAC East. Some of the Jsu posters including the ring leader has never forgiven (like a divorced wife) TJ for carrying the SWAC East when they were the laughing stock of all BCF. TJ didn't ask for his role and should not be castigated, verbally scourged and rebuked for carrying his brothers that were not heavy during the Bell error. Can we all not just get along (Thanks Rodney King)? :emlaugh:

Agreed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't TJ once the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, and led the Vikings to the Division Title before Brett Favre came to Minnesota.

You are correct. 10-6 and won the division the year before Brett came to "take them to the next level".

Basically T Jack is the black version of Alex Smith. Get him the right coach and allow him to micromanage the game. That's all he needs to do.
