You see it all the time—Kevin Durant trying to get free off the ball for a shot at the end of Game 3 and Ron Artest and Andrew Bynum holding him and no call. The freedom of movement that was so trumped a few years ago with changes to allow zone is all but gone.

The scores are down with scoring just over 90 per game and the shooting is down, but not because players can’t shoot. Officials are allowing defenders to mug cutters, forcing all sorts of isolations. If Stern’s idea to change the committee was to save the game, he’s on the right course. These playoffs should be all the evidence he needs.

LeBron showed last night why he will never be as great as Kobe. He made his last basket and 34th point with 8 minutes left in the game. Afte that he went ghost like LeBron usually does. He only touched the ball ONCE for the last 8 minutes of the game as he took his customary stance in the corner and watched his team play when they needed him most. Mario Chalmers and MikeMiller got the lead down to 7 with about 3 minutes left and ole LeBron ran like hell from the ball. But at least he had 34 points

All people know what to say is comebacks. LeBron has done this his whole career, fade when needed most. This is the same queen, i'm sorry king that can dance when he wins and cry when he loses. Great talent with no heart.

I hope you guys know you are arguing over fixed playoffs. Boston will get all the calls again and this series will be tied 2-2, no matter what LeBron does.

I don't know about that last night. Magic and Jon Barry both agreed that Spoelstra is not designing plays to be successful at all. They were like what kind of play set up is that. LOL. Same thing happens every time Wade gets the last shot. They settle for some crappy arse 3 shot instead of taking it to the basket to generate a call. I ain't defending Lebron. But he did hit that 3 with 30 seconds left. The Heat are not going to win a title with Spoelstra as head coach. Riley should have said fugg what DWade want and went back to the bench last season when he got those players. Wade hates the way Riles practices. Basically runs their arses into the ground. But he has 4 Rings and has been to at least 6 or 7 Finals with the Lakers, Knicks and Heat.

A punk arse coach can't do anything with those type of egos and timid hearts. Same for Mike Brown with the Lakers. When you got that kind of talent you need a coach that can motivate and get isht done and hopefully he is good with the Xs and Os or has assistants that are. The Heat need a tough coach. I see Jerry Sloan is back interviewing for Head Coaching jobs. If the Heat are smart they fire pretty boy Spoelstra and get a tough minded coach like Sloan. Lebron is never going to be hard until he gets a Head Coach that has CRED that demands it. He has all the talent in the world. But between the coaching he has had where they have coddled him because he was bigger than the coach, has not helped him develop that killer mentality.

Last night was lost on coaching and of course the NBA refs are beyond sad right now. LOL. Oh well. One kid that is getting meaner by the minute is Durant. He is becoming my favorite player in the NBA. Just want him to gain some weight or get stronger so he can post up more when his outside shot aint falling.
 
JR, Spoelstra said he did not draw up that play. Even DWade said the same thing. Those cats don't want to run plays. They refuse to do what Spoelstra says.
 
And there's no way LeBron plays for a cat like Sloan. He doesn't want to be challenged by a coach. If he played for Pop in S.A. he'd be crying on the bench half the time with how Pop gets in those guys' shat.

Wow, that is even worse. I missed their interviews after the game. I only watched the ESPN crew analysis with Magic and caught his disgust about the plays. LOL.

So if they aint even trying to run their coach's play, wtf is he there for. Another reason for Riley to say fugg that isht and take his arse back to bench. Riley is bigger than all them clowns on the team, so they would have to listen or get the fugg on. I know he has to see this. Oh well. It is worse than I thought for sure. But I already called it when I saw they were adding James and Bosh to mix that Spoelstra does not have enough clout to force the issue. He would probably be a good coach for a young and impressionable team where he can develop them before they become NBA superstars. I think that is what helps Scott Brooks in OKC. Plus Durant is a really good kid with a quiet demeanor. Don't seem to care about all the hoopla of being a NBA superstar.

So either the Heat players have a legit concern about Spoelstra's X and O's and his leadership or they just are being arse holes for ignoring him. Either way, Riley has to change the coach. Unless he is going to start trading players which we know probably aint going to happen.

Well he better. As much as I give yall grief about Kobe. Kobe played for Phil even when they had issues. Same for MJ when played for Phil. Pippen got salty with Phil that one time on the last shot but he got over it. If Lebron wants to win titles he better listen to his coaches and he better be willing to play for a Sloan or Pop. But you are right, Pop would be in his arse. Now if Lebron had went to San Antonio first, he would have been fine. Going to Cleveland with another NICE Guy coach with no NBA head coaching experience at the time was not a good thing. Once he became King James I think that took over somewhat. I like Lebron and actually like to see him win. I think he is good cat off the court and carries himself pretty well. But he has to submit to being coached or he is never going to get a ring.

I don't know how much of that I buy that Whitlock is saying. All players have had their issues where they had to mature. Magic walked into the best situation with the greatest center of all time in my book. He had veterans to guide him. Even when he got Westhead fired, Magic still submitted to Pat Riley. Lebron and Wade obviously don't think Spoelstra can coach. So the trust and respect issue is there. Wade already won a title with Riley as coach. If Riles was coaching this team, they would have swept the Celtics or at least be up 3-1 and oh by the way, would have beaten the Mavs last year as well.

You forgot he had Paul Silas his first year in Cleveland and promptly did what he could to get him out of there.
 



Popovich can scream at and publicly belittle Duncan, Parker and Ginobili without damaging his relationship with his stars. Popovich is free to “coach” his stars. Spoelstra has to “manage” his stars. It’s simpleminded to attribute this difference solely to Popovich’s four championship rings and Spoelstra’s zero rings.

I think that issue has more to do with the plyers than the coach. Pop had zero rings before he got Duncan and he was already coaching like that.

...and that's not the main premise of the article. I was speaking of his notion that Bron and Wade are hard to coach because they had a difficult childhood.

I think its a combo of both players and coach. Trust factor, IMO.

I looked beyond that nonsense Whitlock posted. The part I only agree on is that Wade and James doesn't seem to trust their current head coach.

I agree. Their upbringing has nothing to do with it. That's why I said I aint buying what he is saying. Durant is from a single parent home and he is doing okay. A lot of players were old school and new school and did fine just as some players from two parent homes have failed to be coached or be good team mates. Whitlock reached a whole lot with that article.

Whitlock was taking some serious heat on twitter after that article came out. They had a scrolling feed on the same site and the comments were amusing.

You are wrong. LeBron ran the wrong play. He froze. When he got the ball they cleared out to the right. Lebron was suppose to go left or go down the lane. His punk ass did the ONLY thing he could not do...he went all the way over to the right where the all the traffic was. And then he passed the ball to HASLEM.....HASLEM?

Even Haslem was like "what the hell are you passing me the ball for?"

Quit protecting that coward
