Louisiana definitely need tougher gun laws and make adults more responsible

Re: Louisiana definitely need tougher gun laws and make adults more responsible......

Most ninjas are oxymorons when it comes to guns. I guess guns makes them feel as if they have gain some power.

That's after the fact. What about laws enacted to prevent murders?

:lmao: 89 the death penalty is in place as we speak and I promise you by this time tomorrow some one will murder somebody anyway.

Get you some rest mane :lmao:

Re: Louisiana definitely need tougher gun laws and make adults more responsible......

How does that help resolve a problem after a child kill someone and is already in prison? How can we stop them from going to jail in the first place? Being that Louisiana is the incarceration capital of world, the state definitely needs to find ways to reverse the trend of sending its’ citizens to prisons. IMO, making the parents responsible is part of the solution. Changing the mentality of those in the street or those that could end up in the street is another solution. I'm not knocking your program, because those in prison definitely need some type of rehabilitation, especially if they are going to be release someday.

Brother I explained that when you so vividly ignored what I stated that we do in KAIROS. We help at risk kids as well. I wish we could save every child but can't but at least we try.

Brother we have men who were just like this kid on the streets of a lot of cities talking and reaching out trying to make a difference. We don't blame laws we try to use ourselves as examples to help kids make the right decisions. Furthermore, not all the guys in KAIROS are ex cons. Some have never broken a law in their life but feel the need to help....

Do you understand?

This is the first post where you stated your program (KAIROS) is doing something outside the prison. But with the world's highest incarceration rate and the nation's highest murder rate, are you saying like others on here that too many guns out on the streets are not part of the problem?

NATIONWIDE MURDER RATES
BY 2010 RANK, HIGHEST TO LOWEST
MURDER RATES PER 100,000 PEOPLE

Louisiana - 11.2

Maryland - 7.4

Missouri - 7.0

Mississippi - 7.0

New Mexico - 6.9

Louisiana is the only state in the country with a murder rate over 10.0 per 100,000 people. Somehow Louisiana needs to find a way to disarm folks illegally toting guns.

What about laws to disarm these fools to save their life so they wouldn't have to face the death penalty, which also would saved the life of those these fools would have killed?

Like I said before, I can deal with an unarmed fool, but I can't deal with an armed fool.

Sure they are criminals, which is why Louisiana should be doing everything in its power to keep guns off the streets and out of the hands of criminals. But I'm sure criminals would do everything in their power to keep Louisiana from taking their guns, such as advocating on internet message boards that enacting new laws would not reduce the number of guns on Louisiana's streets.:lmao:

Jag89, I am curious...do you own a gun?

Yes I legally own a gun and it's in a place a criminal can't get his or her hand on it. And as a responsible gun owner, I make sure it safe everyday.

Yes I legally own a gun and it's in a place a criminal can't get his or her hand on it.

BTW, if you can get to it a criminal can get to it, believe me.

My next question is do you have kids, or do you have kids visit your house?

I have a son. Since I check on my gun every day, if it come up missing, I will report it stolen. Some people don't know their gun was stolen until it was involved in a crime. Make gun dealers and gun owners more responsible.

Here a question for you Mak. Should states do everything in their power to disarm individuals illegally toting guns?

So based on your proposed legislation, if you by chance skip a day, or God forbid, go to work, or go to sleep your kid or one of his friends could take your gun and YOU would then be an accessory. But wait....your Son would never do that, because you raised him right. You see where I am going with this? You want to propose extra gun laws on people that simply aint raising their damn kids right, and have basically raised a criminal....which btw, has been pointed out to you by others in this thread is the inherent problem. Again, criminals won't follow the law....They don't care what the consequences are for them or their families. How can you possibly make a gun dealer more responsible. Oh, I know...in addition to them already not being able to sell to criminals you could give them the ability to simply look at somebody and determine if they are not a responsible gun owner or look like a criminal. Yeah, that would work really well wouldn't it. lol

So, are you saying states shouldn't do anything to keep guns out of the hands of kids that wasn't raised right?

Re: Louisiana definitely need tougher gun laws and make adults more responsible......

People keep talking about the gun laws dont matter, then why is it that the cities that are CONSTANTLY at the top of the shootings/murder list are the cities that have the most strict gun control laws? Simple, because criminals KNOW they're the only ones with guns and that the average person has no way of defending themselves against it. Chicago, Detroit, Philly, Camden, Trenton....all the super strict gun control laws. Yet Chicago has 40 shootings in ONE weekend. People are a little quicker to think about trying you when then know you're just as likely to be strapped as they are. If you can't see that you're in denial. And it's one of the main reasons you will never see Texas as high on the murder rate as you will these cities.

Louisiana's problem isnt their gun laws, it's their pathetic justice system. Half of those murders are committed by the same people because they know all they have to do is intimidate the witnesses and they don't have to worry about going to jail. When I saw that whole "60 day" nonsense New Orleans was doing all I could do was shake my head. That's why all of those New Orleans criminals ran back down there from Atlanta and Houston... that 60 day ish didnt fly.

For a long time Chicago had a darn gun ban in the city and still cats found a way to shoot each other.

Re: Louisiana definitely need tougher gun laws and make adults more responsible......

If the NRA have their way, folks in Louisiana will have the right to carry their guns to church, school, and government buildings.

http://www.thetowntalk.com/viewart/.../Bill-gun-restrictions-heads-Louisiana-voters

Louisiana is the NRA puppet state, which is probably why the murder rate in Louisiana is the nation's highest.

Actually no, lol... I just addressed why the murder rate there is the highest. It's because your justice system down there is a complete joke. They don't care about killing because they don't have to worry about actually being convicted for the crime. Prime example, look at this Lil Boosie dude. A pathetic prosecutor botched up the case and the dude that "allegedly" ordered a hit on another man will be free in a few months to do it again if he chooses. THAT'S Louisiana's issue. You can get guns anywhere in any state but that is the reason they have so many more issues than the rest. The court sucks down there.

That's uh kinda my point lol...Chicago has one of the most strict gun laws in the country yet has traditionally been one of the most violent..constantly. Last weekend alone there were 40 shootings in Chicago...40...in one weekend.

A Chicago cop told me "Yeah, the criminals KNOW ya'll don't have guns. Ya'll are basically sheep waiting to be slaughtered."

Precisely. And yet another reason why that New Orleans mess didn't work long in other states. It's no fun when the rabbit has a gun too.

Somehow folks take a topic and run straight off the tangent with it. I'm not talking about restricting guns period. What Louisiana needs to do is find ways to stop guns from getting into criminals hands.

And Kendrick, I didn't know 15, 16, and 17 year old teenagers were repeated murders that intimidates witnesses. Things some people would say to make their point.
