Do you honestly believe Louisiana will start growing once Jindal's privatization plan goes into effect. Growth is not based on government switching from public to private. Growth is based on the type of industries that the state can attract and there's a big dierence between Georgia industries and Louisiana industries. And don't give me this mess that privatization is the reason why industries came to Georgia, because Jimmy Carter was Georgia's govenor when growth started in Georgia. Before then, Georgia was different than any other southern state.

Dude, Jindal isnt doing anything different than Gov. Deal here in Georgia. You all are just moving into 2012 after being left behind. It's this something new? Of course it is, to you all. Is it good? Dont know. Depend on how you look at it. Hell, I remember when Pres. Bush wanted to privatize Social Security when he was in office and everyone had a heat stroke. You all should just get ready for this, because it's coming just like all the other states. The Repubs are running the show and you all can kick, scream, and throw hiss fits or just learn how to maneuver through this and keep it moving. Until someone else gets in office and change the policies (which I highly doubt because of the economy), this will be the way of life in La. This is just the new way of living here in this America. The old way has been pushed to the side. There is no longer a "granted" pension for life. Alot of companies are moving to this 401(A) where you get what you put in and the company matches. It's like that here on my government job. I've been here 15 years and I'm only going to get what I made off stocks and investments with my money in my 401(A). And when I leave before retirement, I will have to pay my 10% penalty along with taxes on my money. Is it fair? No, but I knew this when this government municipality first started this and I got hired. No need in crying about it, just roll with it and have a plan B.

The he announced the education reform bill, I remember the head of the louisiana federation of teachers saying we will have to rally our troops. They should have been rallying the troops a year ago! I'm in Walmart the night the education reform bill gets final passage from the Senate and these ladies are bragging about how they are going to send their kids to Scared Heart. The name of the school is actually Sacred Heart.

I believe ya. Same thing happened here. Once the Repubs took control of the capital, everything that they were trying to pass for the last 20+ years came to pass. And it happened under the people's noses here. They kept saying, "It's not going to happen here. Look at how many times it got shot down." Little did they know that Repubs are determined and dont mind waiting. And that is exactly what they did. Wait till they could get all their people in offices in the capital, and then "WHAM!" That is the unadulterated truth. They're here too. See them all the time. Asking questions like, "Why they doing this? When did this happen? I dont remember hearing about this." Well, if they get out and vote, then they would have known about it cause they would have "at least" seen it on their ballot sheet. I have basically turned my ears off to folks that dont vote and complain now. I put them in the same category as the ones that stand out here on the corners of Peachtree St and sell socks and fake gold chains and dont do anything else.

Georgia conservatives are much smarter and know when to compromise for the well being of all when it comes down to business. Too many Louisiana people work on crisis management only, instead of working on things before they become a crisis. The problem here in Louisiana, there are too many Black people that think what Jindal is doing doesn't affect them. Yesterday, my dad and I were talking about some of Jindal's policies, when my older brother who's been a police officer for 27 years said that we should not be concerned about Jindal's policies because they do not affect us. After my dad and I explained to him how Jindal's policies are basically redirecting our tax dollars mainly to the rich that could drastically drive-up the cost of living in Louisiana, which would cause him to work longer, because his retirement wouldn’t be enough to pay the essential bills, such as taxes, food, clothing, etc. Once my brother realized what we were talking about, he suggested that I become advocate to inform the people. I told him he needs to get more involved.

I can agree with you with a a caveat. Many AA that migrate here from different places are just as shiftless as some of the natives. I cannot type cast all Georgians.

I would say Maynard Jackson and Andrew Young were the biggest catalyst for Atlanta growth if you're limiting it to blacks. Both matriculated at Morehouse and came in from out of state. However Jackson is the Grandson of John Wesley Dobbs a fixture in the Atlanta community that was known as the mayor of Auburn Ave and was here in the late 1800's, also a Morehouse man(score one for Georgia). Andy Young from New Orleans hooked up with M.L. King (Georgia) and the movement. So there is a Georgia thumb print as well as with John Lewis (Alabama). Louisiana AA unfortunately hasn't been fortunate enough to get that type of intellectual migration. However, that does not let the white crooked politicians off of the hook in Louisiana. Again, Georgia conservatives are much smarter than Louisiana and it has everything to do with the condition of both states as well as business climates. One cannot attribute the conditions exclusively to either AA communities.

I will give you my Hall of Fame dumbest move by a Politician in Louisiana. Mary Landrieu loss the Democratic Louisiana primary to Cleo Fields and wouldn't endorse him. :lol: :emlaugh: Louisiana has a serious issue with not only Conservatives but poverty pimping big business boot licking (chiefly oil) democratic white moderates.......IMHO.

The more education we and career paths we get, the more selfish we become. As a whole we don't even associate with our family anymore. First cousins don't even know each other or their kids. Sad!!!

And that's where Ga is today. Alot of these folks dont realize that ALL this stuff IS affecting them until it reaches their front door step. They see their property taxes rising and they cant pay them, so they get pushed out of their homes. Their school district gets re-aligned and now their kids has to go to a underachieving school that is borderline of getting closed. These things are happening all over this country. It's a strategic plan that is being used to take back the inner cities and parts of the state. Let me say this again for the impaired. "IT'S A STRATEGIC PLAN THAT IS BEING USED TO TAKE BACK THE INNER CITIES AND PARTS OF THE STATES." This just didnt happen by accident. They planned this all along and Jindal is just following the plan that other Repub Governors had set in place for their states. If you check to see what the City of Atlanta is doing that concerns a certain project called "The Atlanta Beltline". Look at what it's all about and where it will run. Then see the areas that they are cleaning up for this project. You will see people getting ran out of their neighborhoods. It's real people.

Right!!! And the thing here in Atlanta is "the more I make, the more I can move out to the suburbs" (ex. Alpharetta, Roswell, Peachtree City, Johns Creek, etc..) Well guess what Cee, those people are tired of the long commutes and us moving out there, so they are doing one of two things. Either they're moving back inside the City to the areas of gentrification or they're "trying" to stop us other ways by getting the law involved. (Meaning, if you're walking your dog, police rides up asking you a bunch of questions. You constantly getting pulled over whenever your close to your house.) Things to frustrate you. And for the ones who cant go that far out because you dont have that kind of money, the only far you can go is Clayton County or Henry. They gave the inner city folks home vouchers to get them out and moved them down there where you are. You thinking you're moving out so you dont have to deal with the inner city crime and now the inner city crime is coming to you.
