Listen to the comments from the two Black female students. One of the Black female student actually said it was heritage not hate.:smh: I guess she believe slavery never occurred.

Personally, I don't think she should be banned. Let her wear it. Stop making everything into new stories.

New batch of airheads doing stunts like this to draw national attention to themselves and gain victim status. Honestly, I'm waiting for the traditional "gay" themed prom controversy to come out for 2012. It has become a prom tradition. :lol:
 
You know... on the freeway going home in 2008.. I saw a large decal of a rebel flag in on the window of chevy truck that passed me. Did not faze me because here in the South I see it all the time...but this truck caught my attention. On the bottom of the window it had one of those famous Obama 08 blue stickers. I said what the fugg. So I sped up to check out the driver... and when I passed him ..yep he was white. lol. Also I remember stopping at a service station outside of Little Rock..I saw this White dude with a T-shirt with a rebel flag on the back...but as he turned around I saw on the front of the shirt Jimi Hendrix.. Anyway I have seen countless of bumper stickers that says Rednecks For Obama with the Rebel Flag underneath. Also I have worked with white guys in the Navy and at work who wore caps with rebel flags on them and those guys went to bat for me when things got dicey on the job. But my biggest memory is when I was stranded on the the freeway going to work..and a car that was going in the opposite direction turned around and cross the median. When the car pulled up I saw a big ass front license plate of the rebel flag. White dude got out of the car and gave me assistance on my car. Really if I had not had these experiences my attitude would be different or more militant as I used to be in my teenage years and 20's. Now I know that there are Southern whites that display the rebel flag that are racists. But back to my co-workers who wore the rebel flag, and I asked them why do they wear it..and they say it represents Southern lifestyle for them, grits, catfish, deer hunitng,fishing,just having a down home attitude without having your nose so high up in the air. Also one of my shipmates on the ship told me that there are white folx who display the American flag who are even more racist....go to Boston or Chicago. He made his point.

So you typed all that to say that some people that wear the rebel flag are not racist and now you have a different respect for them, but would you wear it if one of your white friends asked you too?

SOME are not racists. And Some are-- just like some are that wave the red white and blue. You just can't come to a assumption about a person just because someone wears a certain clothing. And what kind of question is that. no I wouldn't wear one...I hate red anyway. Obvioulsy you miss the point...which is you can't assume a person's intent because of the clothing they wear.

Would you shoot a white dude wearing some clothing that has a rebel flag walking in your hood?

No I didn't miss your point and I know clothing doesn't make a person. But what I do see from you, if a Black person says the flag is associated with racism, then they must be a militant. The closest thing I've come to being a militant is when I was a Combat Engineer (12 Bravo) Soldier in United States Army. I guess in your case when White people wear camouflaged BDU's (Battle Dress Uniform) and combat boots or the confederate flag, they are just trying to express their southern heritage, but when Black people wear camouflaged BDU's with combat boots, they are militant. I guess there are a lot Black people that think like the Brother in the video below. Even in slavery, some slaves thought that their master was the greatest person on earth. And no I wouldn't shoot anyone for wearing the confederate flag, but it is still a symbol of racism to me.

Read Black Panther newspapers on campus whenever I could get my hands on on.Hell..I almost join the Nation. But I ain't naive to know that racism still exist. But whenever I had something ill to say about white folx..it seems like whenever when I was in bind...some white dude wearing a rebel flag would be there to help me out. That was a karma lesson I guess. So JAG89 if you were in a bind or some difficult situation where you could not contact anyone that you know,would you turn down help from a white person wearing some clothing with the rebel flag? You know in Afgahnistan the American flag is a symbol of oppression and the Great Satan.

I really don't know what to think about white people that wears the rebel flag, because I'm not them, but it's still a racist symbol. And like Founder said, let them wear it, because they have that right.

I probably wouldn't turn down anyone's help, unless that person had a HIDDEN AGENDA, but I still have the right to say the Confederae Flag is a racist symbol. Do you see it as such?

I used too...I really did. I have seen clips when I was in high school in 1975 clips of the Boston busing violence.. a lot of white racists were carrying American flags. And here in Arkansas I have seen clips of KKK rallies where the both the Rebel flag and the American flag were carried. It all depends who carrying it. But you and I both can wear the wrong color in one of ganged control hoods and we will get shot down in drive-by. Anyway that video is funny...I know dude pissed off a lot of white folx who did used it as a symbol racism. lol.

There's a big difference between racism and ignorance. If someone kill you because you are black, most likely it's racism, which is what folks are saying Zimmerman did to Trayvon Martin, but if someone kill you because of some color you are wearing that is just pure ignorance.

Always remember the Confederate flag was a symbol used by those who wanted to keep Black people in slavery, such as the Nazi symbol to Jews.

The ironic part about that.. is that both the racist and the blacks that kill blacks both will say: I killed that nig-gah. And what do you think the American flag means to Native Americans? genocide? Would you give your land back to the Indians?



Hey look I am posting from my experience and how it changed me on how used to think. Now I say ...one size don't fit all. Life expereinces has taught me to watch people actions .they give away all the clues. But speaking on the Swazitika... that symbol was copied from an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic. It means the 5 elements of the universe. Hitler reversed it thinking it will bring him luck. The symbol is called the grammadon(sp)

Reminds me of a story from high school. I went to this small white rural HS that was 85% white. One day after football practice, I snuck down to the Broken Spoke, a lil redneck bar in Kiln, Mississippi with some teammates. One guy gave me a lil flack and my teammates (all white) beat buddy azz. Not saying this is the norm but there are some surprises out there.

And they both have one commonality which is hate. from 6000-7000 young African American males murdered a year in America by the hands of other young black males. If those murders were committed by whites,Michael Baisden,Al Sharpton would be covering 24-7 365. But since these murders are committed by blacks..I guess the alarm does not go off as loud in our heads.

I agree that more attention needs to be place on Black on Black murders, but you still missed the point that there is a difference between racial hate crimes and pure ignorance. I'll never put down another Black man for taking a stand on racial hate crimes against AA males, because every little bit helps, but since the Black on Black murder rate is more important to you, maybe you should become the voice and the advocate against it. I'm sure Al Sharpton and Michael Baisden wouldn't try to stop you and depending on how successful you are, they might even join in to help.
