MEAC vs. SWAC

What part of the BC is not stopping YOU from doing anything. SU has chosen to take the BC over the playoffs. I will take and guaranteed 500,000 plus over a possibility anyday. The SCG stopped the rest of you, not us. The chance that PV could go to the SCG is what stopped them a few years back. Our game could have been the week before and they still would not have been able to go.

And obviously you didn't read my last post because our issue is not money .... it's what happens to it once we get it. Athletics, until this year, did not get the lionshare of BC money as it should. That is what happens to MOST of us when dealing with classics and big games.

Or did you just conveniently forget that to try and sell your point?

I'm done.
I have heard enough crap and cop outs from HBCU minded mentalities I can't take it anymore.

But I'll try this one more time. :goof:

FCS is not going to fool around with a conference where half the teams can go and half the teams can't. They are not going to wait one day on the POWERHOUSE SWAC, to decide if a eligiable playoff team will be availiable a week AFTER the bids go out. There are too many other conferences that WANT to participate that they can do business with.

I know you won't understand that because people here only look from the SWAC OUT instead of from the Outside in.

Have fun. I know I did in this waste of cyber space.

83,

I think the major issue with moving the BC is NBC. If NBC was not involved, I think SU-GSU might be willing to move it. FAMU and BCU were able to move theirs because they didn't have to factor in the loss of a national TV audience. The only move I can see SU-GSU doing is trying to get NBC to agree to a move AND to get see if AlaState is willing to forgo their TDC. However, for me, I don't see the benefits of this. I don't see the point in the whole conference making changes to be playoff eligible IF the entire season will be deterimed by ONE game. I would still prefer, if I had the choice, a 7-game schedule WITH stipulations, over a playoff berth. Even IF we did have a playoff berth, to me, it serves no greater good to this conference if we still have a 9-game mandate. There is much more power in having 30-40 good OOC matchups vs ONE playoff game (assuming we are like the MEAC and are one and done every year).

Also, as others have mentioned, the only reason these other schools don't have classics and championship games is becasue they simply can't. I recall the leaders of the Southland years ago saying that if they could have a Bayou Classic, they would drop the playoffs. The reason why the MEAC won't have a championship game is that they could never even draw the 20-30K that that SWAC draws. If the MEAC thought they could get 30K to MEAC Championship game, they would drop the playoffs in a heartbeat. The same goes for classics. PWCs see the benefit and so do we but we just don't have the money to pull them off since corporate sponsors have backed off. :(

You and JSU know where the door is if you decide to be bold and go for it. And believe me, we have fun everytime you decide to waste more space here with the same thing over and over again.

Maybe if you send this thread to Duer or Vivian, you might get a little further .... just a tip.

Just like the SWAC, I have been done with this.

You know I said a long time ago that I don't care about anything in the SWAC these days except the 7 division games we have to win. That is what everybody wanted, so that is all that is important in this conference. Everything else is meaningless to me. I just do these playoff threads now just to pass time, have a laugh, and raise posters blood pressure a few points.

I know none of these SWAC'ers are gonna change their path or their 1970 business model mentality.

i don't know why you keep saying that. Sure the scenerio is hard but in a year like 2011, at one point it looked like AlaState was going to be 10-1 and JSU was going to be 10-1. We simply looked like the best two teams in the league. Sure JSU was not playoff eligible but if we were, we would have gone to the playoffs since ASU would have not been available. There is not way they would have left us out and they would not have had to wait a week because both JSU and AlaState would have finished their conference schedules. We will get a team in the playoffs again but again, that does not need to be our focus. Our focus needs to be going to a 7-game format and improving our level of play. There is simply no value in the playoffs. Even a guy like who CARES and knows what FCS is...(trust me, most people don't know there are two D1 levels), I couldn't tell you who won the 1-AA title the last few years.

Again with the "show me the door."
Thats all ya'll know.

Duer and Vivian are too stupid to even comprehend a new idea so don't even take the convo that way.

Because it's true.
You honestly think the SWAC has any clout left with FCS? We don't even get a mention anymore. We had players that were at the top at their poisition and FCS was still snubbing them on the regular.

So the only thing that would matter to you is a ONE playoff game?

So if McNeese State goes 8-3 and does not make it to the playoffs, was their season worthless since they didn't get to go to the playoffs?

I really don't understand how an entire season is defined by one game.

Ya'll just playing like ya'll this slow to understand what I'm saying.
Ya'll can't be this ..................... :goof:

Just stop.
I said .......... I DON'T CARE ANYMORE AND HAVE NOT CARED IN A LONG TIME.
I'm just like ya'll now. Keep the status quo.

Classics, parties, chittlin tailgates forever ya'll. :lmao:

+1. For true. :|

They honestly think people are watching us with envy and following OUR lead on anything.

Talk about delousional.............
Athletes that we used to get are turning their backs to us in favor of JUCO's across the South but let these posters tell it we are the leaders and inovators of FCS under our present business model according to the mentalities shown here.

The SWAC is comprised of a bunch of schools who take value in playing in a classic rather than playing against National competition. But continue to complain about the LACK of Respect OUR players and conference receives on a national level.

Most of you have probably never been an athlete before...:smh: Afraid to compete...

Every school under the FCS wants to be the SWAC huh...truth be told now a days if it wasnt for the bands...there would be no exposure to this conference...because the level of play has suffered...

You are going to get torn apart for this statement.

They was all up in here last year byotching about players not getting consideration on the FCS National level.

Trust me man........... GIVE IN TO THE SWAC MENTALITY OR BE TOLD TO LEAVE.
Embrace being on the outside looking in. :lmao:

There go your head on the floor.
You know they comming for you after this statement also.

I don't have too much energy today to address this situation. :smh:

Ol' North Dakota St Univ is gonna' be pissedola, like USM was lol, when it's announced that "the band" ain't making the trip for the 200,000$ payday. :emlaugh: Outsiders (OOCs) are only interested in the SWAC for the crowd they could potentially bring and the entertainment value of halftime. Because what happens for 4 quarters is NOT entertaining (getting smashed) @ all.

NEWSFLASH: People don't care about the bands either. Outside of band members and a few band groupies, nobody gives a shit. Really.

I actually agree with every word of this...

Jstate83, i don't think Vivian is to stupid, she has was involved with playoff eligible football when she was at Tn State. Duer can only do what the President's allow him to do, based on majority votes. I get it, if nothing else allow the kids you recruit to play on a national platform and compete for a national title.

NDSU don't care about us bringing our band to their game, they were only looking to find a opponent to host for another home game and that's all. They turned down a offer from Nebraska because of this. They wanted home games to play.
