Does DII have different rules or something? I thought they only had 36 schollies to give out?

FLORENCE, Alabama -- UNA head football coach Bobby Wallace has signed one of the largest recruiting classes in school history, adding 37 high school signees and four community college transfers on National Signing Day.

Wallace was excited about his new class of recruits.

"It was a great morning," Wallace said. "Our staff did a great job getting out on the road in a short period of time and pulling together an outstanding group of signees. We wanted to get back into the high schools and were able to get 37 freshman signees."

"There were also a lot of kids that we walked in late on who had offers from other schools and they changed their minds and came to UNA," Wallace added.

UNA's recruiting class includes players at every position, with eight offensive linemen, seven defensive backs, six defensive linemen, six receivers, six running backs, fine linebackers and three quarterbacks.

Yep. Plus the eligibility rules are different I believe. A lot of these kids may be borderline grade wise.

I wish I could upload this manual....I got it when my nephew hit the field at GSU...D-II has a lot of different rules.

man..........

They took every mofo that didn't have a schollie offer and wanted to continue playing football in college. I'll bet bench riders was signed with the hopes of coaching them up. There are not 41 SERIOUS HIGH SCHOOL RECRUITS that are gonna sign with no D2 school.

Even with the sucess UNA has had, I'll bet if you broke down each signee, only about 10 are true talents that can be considered real college football players.

 I was thinking the same thing.

Would you want them on your schedule though?

Those are probably all partial scholarships given out. DII can only have 33 scholarships given out. They probably got a lot of grant in aid players too.

Ahh................ YES. :lecture:
We kicked Delta states azz to sleep in the year they beat a 10-2 UNA and went to the National Championship game. Whats is the problem? :noidea:

Beats the hell out of scheduling Concordia or Stillman.

Yea... after you lost to them the year before lol. Guess you forgot that part.

Nope..........You just don't know what in heck you talking about trying to smack so fast. If you gonna try to get in a dig, at least tell the story right.

That was 2007 when we lost to Delta State. They only lost 2 games that year both to UNA. This was also one year removed from Bell with TRAE still starting as our QB and WOODY as our OC. Jimmy Oliver was still on the bench the first game. The year before, 2006, Delta State lost to Grand Valley State in the D2 national Championship semi-final game.

ummm 83,
Didn't jsu win the swac in 07?
:scared:

Proved what I was saying all along. Be good enough to beat each other and our goal is still reachable. Forget who we lose to in OOC play. Ya'll wanted this mentality of SWAC only, ya'll got it..

If your memory will let you get past your scared smilie, JSU lost 3 out of our first 4 games. We was 1-3 that year and then ran the table the rest of the year. Our season turned around when WOODY stopped playing musical chairs with the QB position and gave Jimmy Oliver the starting QB position after Game #3.

oh ok, please don't act like Oliver didn't play against Delta State. He did. :scared:

bottom line, no need to suggest that a good D2 team couldn't compete with us.

Don't act like YOU was there to see just how little Oliver played against Delta state. You have no clue how bad that game was coached.

A good D2 POWER got smoked by a JSU team that had it's legs under them in 2010.............. Unlike 2007.

You can try to explain it all you want, the bottom line is that yall lost to them. You conveniently say you "kicked them to sleep" to describe your beating them, but the point could easily be made that in yall's best season in years, they also kicked yall to sleep.

carry on....

What? Man, Oliver played like 2 series the whole game. And he DIDNT start. Our offense actually moved the ball against Del State when Oliver was in there those 2 series and the rest of the times, we punted. I know, cause I was there.

And this is why I mostly ignore questions from you and certain other posters. All this crap just for you to say it don't matter what we say. A waste of typing. Just say you wanna smack or talk shat instead of posting these fake, "innocent" little set up post.

Question?
When in the heck did anybody from JSU say we didn't lose to them in 2007. Big deal. :goof:

D2 has differnt rules. U can divide the scholarships up however and hand them out like cheese. The key that has been SAID is coaching them up.
